SILVER’S POV
“Nightclubbing is going to be fun today,” I muttered to myself as I drove to Jordyn’s house in my uncle’s truck.
I just hope Jordyn will have my Coke intact. I wish she acted more like her age sometimes because it’s stressful teaching her almost everything.
Anyway, she wouldn't have time to hang out with me if her father didn't die so I guess a win is a win. s**t! That's a cruel way to think, right? I can't be guilt-tripping myself right now. I’ve got one hell of a party.
I reached for Jordyn’s door and I could hear sounds like an argument was going on. It seems Jordyn is having some issues with her mum again.
“Jordyn!”
“Jordyn!” I said as I knocked. I was in a hurry.
It was her mum, Lisa, who opened it.
“Speak of the devil,” Lisa gnarled.
“So you are the one who now supplies my daughter with cocaine right?”
“Do you know what we’ve been through the past few weeks”
“You seem to be all grown up and a woman of your own but your parents did a bad job of raising you”
I just stood there with furrowed eyebrows. I couldn't take the insults that Lisa was hurling at me. How dare she mention my parents?
“Madam, I know you are hurt and all that but don't you dare mention my parents again,” I warned, pointing my hands toward her face.
Just as things were getting heated, Jordyn rushed to where we were.
“Mom! Come on!”
“You can't keep chasing my friends,” she said, trying to calm the situation.
“Silver is like my best friend please”
“Stop embarrassing me, you’ve already done enough,” Silver said as she held my hands across to where my uncle’s truck was parked.
“Is that how you are going to address your mother,” Silver’s mum said painfully as she watched us drive off.
“Whoa,” I screamed excitedly.
“Girl, let's make some money,” I continued, turning the music on as I drove.
“So, how does this work?”
“Do you sleep with these men too?” Jordyn asked timidly.
“Girl, you need to get free”
“You can't believe how much I made yesterday,” I said with a smile.
“Drag that shelf,” I asked.
Jordyn pulled the car drawer and saw the stack of money I kept but she didn't seem too moved by it.
“What? Does it not impress you?”
“That’s how much you could make from these parties and you know, the best thing is I don’t even have to sleep with these men”
“At least not all the time,” I said, hoping that was enough to make her comfortable at least.
“So, where’s my stash?” I asked Jordyn, realizing that she had been a little quiet since she got into the car.
“Eh, I lost it,” she responded.
“What do you mean you lost it?” I said with my nerves heightened.
“I’m sorry but I had a quarrel with my mum and she flushed it,” Jordyn said.
“Gosh! What the f**k!”
“Does she know how much that costs”
“I sniff this stuff every time before I get to work,” I said, frustrated.
My hands left the stirring for a moment as I lost concentration with my driving.
“Watch out, watch out!” Jordyn screamed.
I quickly swerved to the other side and avoided the oncoming vehicle thankfully.
“You’ve got to have some deep talk with your mom”
“You are a lady of your own now,” I said calmly.
We soon got to the strip club with music on and lights off.
“Babe, you are overdressed,” I told Jordyn, still hoping that she would lighten up her mood.
I could sense that she wasn’t feeling comfortable as we walked into the party. I laughed mockingly as I noticed how she was just checking over her shoulders as if someone was going to steal her.
“Put this on, come on!” I clapped my hands, signaling that she had to hurry.
I gave her a pair of lingerie to wear as we entered a secluded room. She wore it slowly and reluctantly.
“Look, babe, cheer up”
“You would be amazed at how much we will make from this”
“This is all about the money,” I said with a smile.
I pulled off a stash of powder that I had hidden in my bra.
“Luckily for us, I left some stash for us,” I said as I gave Jordyn some of the cocaine to sniff.
Jordyn held the substance to her nose and had a very little sniff. I just laughed in silence as she acted so inexperienced. I’m just trying to help her though as a friend, nothing more.
“That’s enough for now,” Jordyn said.
“You barely even had a sniff, babe,” I said.
“You have to be high to get on with these horny men”
“They won’t be impressed if you don’t give them what they want”
“And if they are not impressed, there would be no money for us”
“How are you going to do a lap dance on a horny d**k if you are not high?”
I started wondering if Jordyn was cut out for all that I was introducing her to. I have fed and taken care of myself by being a hooker for almost half my life and Jordyn has to understand the reality of what her life now means that she thinks her father is gone.
“Silver, I need some air,” Jordyn said as she left the strip club with all the music and noise. Jordyn covered her lingerie with another dress as if she was ashamed.
Why is this girl wasting my time? I would have already made some money from these men if I didn’t have to babysit her.
I still followed her though. I needed her to tell me what exactly was wrong with her. She was beginning to piss me off but I would just pretend for now. She thinks I have forgotten how she lost my stash of powder.
“What’s wrong, Jordyn?” I asked.
“There is something I need to tell you, Silver,” she said.
