Curse of the Moon Goddess

Chapter 2

I stare at the naked she wolf in my bed, she reeks of s*x and sweat after what I just put her through.

“You can go now”

“Oh baby, just lay with me awhile” she purrs looking at me trying to be seductive

“Leave" I shout using my alpha voice

I normally am not one to give into my lust, but the stress and headache caused by my Beta Matt finding his mate who just happens to be in a pack connected to ‘The Treaty of the Alphas' made me have a lapse in judgment tonight.

Oh well at least the release I felt seems to have calmed down my agitation with the situation at hand.

“ You should be waiting until we find our mate.” My wolf Onyx says with disgust

He’s never agreed with me when I bed women. I’m going to be hearing about all this wait for your mate b.s. for at least the next week.

“Like I’ve said before, with any luck we will never find our mate. We both saw how my father and his wolf were destroyed by their ‘gift’ from the Goddess.”

“We won't be like him, you’ll see.”

The optimistic approach Onyx has when it comes to our mate is something I have never agreed with. I saw what my father went through and remember all the things he made sure to brand onto my brain. If a mate destroys you the way it did my father Maddox the strongest Alpha in my mind, then I wouldn’t dare to want anything to do with a mates curse. I’d prefer to stick with random girls I’ll never have to deal with, so much easier. I don't sleep with any of the girls from my pack keeps things simpler.

My father died 5 years ago, during a battle with the rogue king who was responsible for my mothers death when I was 11. The war was won but my father wasn't there to enjoy the victory. I was never given details of how he died but I know he killed the rogue king himself before hand.

I was 16 when he died and pushed into the role as the new leader of the blood moon pack. the first night I got that title I found a naked she wolf in my bed trying to claim a spot next to me. I was disgusted looking at this girl who I once respected as a high ranking daughter. I forced her to leave never touching her, but it kept happening always different pack members. always trying to seduce me for a title. I couldn't understand how these women who carried themselves so properly and earned so much respect from others could really just be w****s looking for power and the title of Luna especially knowing they weren't even mated to me.

I later learned it wasn't just me but my 2 best friends as well. they also did not appreciate the attempted r**e these girls kept trying to call seduction. They were even bold enough to try and spike my betas drink at one point. But I finally had enough when my gamma Lucian had found his mate and a random she wolf filled with jealousy tried to ruin their bond by being found naked in his office by his mate.

That day I made a command prohibiting all females who were not true mates from using their bodies to try and climb the ladder to the top. the she wolf who tried to ruin my gamma love was kicked out of our pack and forced to turn rougue and no one dared try and go against the command again.

The damage was done though, they had already shown me who they all really were and I'd never trust a female again, and I'd definitely never respect them. So perfect at keeping up an appearance but really all just power hungry willing to sleep their way to the top. Disgusting.

I've never bedded with anyone from my own pack because of that. nor have I ever been with the same women twice. a means to an end. a release. nothing more.

Onyx agreed with me about all females besides the unknown mate we haven't met she isn't like them, she would never use us or anyone else. she was going to be a perfect Luna, as if I hadn't already seen what perfection really was.

No one waited for their mates anymore. Everyone spread their legs to the guys with power. In most packs the soon to be alphas and their future teams loved to brag about bedding all the girls in their pack. too much drama if you ask me. women were sly creature so many stories of how jealous booty calls torture and bully true mates once they are found. Not that it really mattered I just hated those type of things. We needed to worry about real things, not whiny sluts offended by ex sluts for things that happened before we ever met. no thank you. hopefully I just never find a stupid mate then no worries.

I fall asleep because tomorrow is gonna be a long day...

Today is the day we make our way over to the New Moon pack lead by Alpha Justice Miles to discuss Blood Moon joining their alliance so Matt can bring his mate Violet home with us.

I doubt their will be any resistance to our joining since our pack has strength, numbers, and a history of treating all members with respect and equal rights.

They requested I join when I first became Alpha but I’d declined, I’m sure a lot of the meetings and other requirements to join are just their so satisfy their wounded egos. If it wasn’t Matt, I doubt I’d of agreed to these conditions, but I can’t force my best friend to choose between his pack and his mate.

As I head to my office to make sure all the arrangements are taken care of for our travels as well as for the pack while I am away, I hear the pitter patter of footsteps and turn around looking at the only girl who has ever captured my heart.

“Uncle Alpha Uncle Alpha!!!” she screams running at me with open arms.

“Hello Princess" I say while catching her in my arms.

Her name is Rose White and she is 3 years old. Daughter of my Gamma Lucian White and his Mate Lily. They both were members of our pack and actually have been together since they were 15, the night before lily’s first shift they broke up but fate had a different idea and when she shifted, they realized they were mates all along. shouldn't that have been enough to keep the other she wolves away.Lucian is the oldest of the 3 of us at 23 while Matt and I are both 21.

“Have you seen brudder today, Uncle?”

“Nope, you are the first person I’ve seen today princess.”

“He said rose today.”

“He is getting so big; you must be a very proud sister huh"

“Yup yup yup"

“Rose, you can’t just run away like that. Mommy was so worried.” Lucian says from down the hall

“Sorry daddy, I heard mommy say my uncles are leaving today and I wanted to say goodbye.”

“Don’t you fret my princess, there is nothing that could keep us away for too long, and wed never forget to say goodbye before we go. Now go on back to your mom sweet girl.” Alexi says kissing her on the cheek and setting her down to go back with her father.

She's one of the few girls that has my heart, the others also being family. Most higher ranks ignore others children expecting them to be seen not heard. But children are truly perfect. no care for anything but fun and still believe in magic.

“I’ll be in the office after I bring this one back to her breakfast" Lucian say with a smile.

When I finally arrive at my office, I find a disheveled Matt pacing back a fourth

“Finally, come on man we have to go.”

I laugh because I know we don’t leave for at least an hour and because my friend the fierce beta of the blood moon pack has become a lovesick puppy being away from his mate for 2 days.

“You sure about this Matt? You grew up with the same examples of mates as I did.”

“Honestly none of that mattered anymore when I saw Violet. She is perfect, the Moon Goddess didn’t make a mistake in this match.”

“You’ve only spent one day with her Matt!”

“That was more than enough time, wait until you meet her, you’ll see. Who knows maybe you’ll find your mate while we are there.”

“I’ll have to pray to little baby Jesus to make sure that never happens.”

“Man you better not drop any Talladega night quotes when we meet the other packs, they do not need to realize how immature the leaders of our pack truly are.”

“Agreed” I laugh.

I love how I can just be myself with my two best friends. They are the only ones who know a side other than my Alpha side. I don’t think I would have survived the past 4 years without them.

Lucian finally made his way down to my office. It was Decided that he and our head warrior Finn Lakewood would be responsible for the pack while we were away. Although I was friendly with Finn, I wouldn’t consider him family like my other two but I have a lot of respect for him not only as a warrior but as a person as well.

Now that Matt is mated, I might need to get better acquainted since he is unmated as well. Our boys club keeps shrinking.

After we finalized all the details for the next few days to come I grabbed my overnight bag and headed to the SUV with Matt. The New Moon pack was an 8-hour drive away.

“How did you even meet this girl; she lives way too far from our pack" I sighed.

I hate long car trips nothing worse than being 6’6 and trapped in a metal box for hours.

“I’ll give you all the details on our ride.” Matt replied, so far all I’ve gotten out of him was her name and pack. I’m sure he would of told me more but once I realized the steps ahead of us to get her into our pack the other details just kind of got lost in the background.

“Miss Pam packed us a lot of food and drinks for the road so hopefully we wont have to stop to often.”

“Let’s go bring my mate home"
