I walked to my locker without looking back. I didn’t know what to get that would look like math notes. All my math notes were in class, and I had to prove to Michelle that I had math notes. I looked through my stuff and find three sheets of paper on math questions that I did about two months ago.
Walking back to class I saw Cody and Kaylee hugging and kissing. I like seeing her happy and wish Brandon and I could do that in school. I moved past them.
“That was fast.” Brandon said as I walked through the door. “Thank you.” I walked over and put the papers on his desk. Michelle was still in the room. The first bell rang and she went to kiss him but he pulled always.
I walked to my desk and sat down, trying not to laugh.
“What’s wrong baby?” She asked.
“Nothing I'm just getting a cold and don’t want to get you sick.” He said.
“Oh okay then.” You could hear her heels slam against the floor as she left the classroom. I looked at Brandon and he knows I wanted to crake up laughing.
“Same groups as yesterday. “ I looked over at the teacher smiling. Brandon moved next to me. Brushing his hand down my back as he sat down. I arced my back. And he tried to hold back a laugh. We were as close to each other that the decks would allow us to be.
“You will be with this person sitting next to you for the rest of the year. You’ll all have a packet to finish by the end of the year. So this is what you’re going to do. I know it doesn’t deal much with math but you guys will find a founder of something that deals with math like for example the founder of pi. And now that I told you that you cannot use pi. Am I clear?”
“Yes Mr. Henley.” The class said that the same time.
I looked at Brandon after half the class got to work thinking about the guy that they were going to do.
“Have do you know my number?” I asked him as I wrote down Sir Isaac Newton.
He looked at the paper and smiled then answered me. “I called your dad about a year ago. I asked to talk to you but you weren’t home and your dad asked if I would like to call you on your cell phone that you were at school helping with the dance set up. I never got the guts to call your cell phone. It took me over five days to get the gut to call your house and when I found out that you weren’t home I know I couldn’t call you.” He said as he leaned over me and acted like his was gabbing a pencil and hugged me sideways.
I smile at him. “How long have you been wanting to talk to me?”
“Since the day you told me to never talk to you again.” He said.
“Yeah I'm sorry about that. It killed me when I never saw you again and never heard your voice again. Man your laugh, your touch. I looked around the room and made sure no one was looking before I grabbed his hand under the desk. I missed you Brandon. I always have. I’ve been wanted to talk to you ever since I said that to you. I never might to hurt you.”
He held my hand. “Ari you never hurt me. I hurt you I could have gone over and showed you how I felt for you. I know that we were only freshmen but I could have showed you by kissing you.”
Mr. Henley walked over and Brandon let go of my hand. Mr. Henley grabbed the paper off my desk and looked at the name. “Good choose Mrs. Larkin. And Mr. Scott you are a lucky person to have Mrs. Larkin as a partner.” He said as he looked at us.
“You have no clue Mr. Henley.” Brandon said with a smile.
“Ari?”
“Yes?”
“Do you want to go to lunch today?”
“Want about Michelle?”
“She is going to lunch with a girlfriend of hers.”
“Okay but I don’t have any class after lunch time today.”
“Okay well we will go back to your house.”
“Can’t remember John home.”
“Okay well.” He looked me down. Then grabbed my hand. “We can go to my house. My mom is at work with your and well my dad is never home.” I looked at him with my eyebrow raised. I waited a minute.
“Okay then Brandon.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
“Then I will see you at lunch.” The bell rang and that was it.
Second hour seemed to go by slower. Once third hour came I could tell Brandon felt the same way about the time. I looked at him and then the clock and back. By lunch I could tell that he was ready to go. He was at my locker when I got out of four hour. I smiled as I got closer and looked up at him.
“So what you tell Cody about lunch and well after lunch?”
“I told him that I didn’t feel good and that I was going to go home.” Then added. “What you tell Kaylee?”
“I haven’t.”
“Are you going to?”
“Nope.”
“Okay. You ready to go.” I looked in my locker and grabbed my math book and closed it. “Yeah lets go. “
We pulled out of the lot and headed for his house. It was a fifteen minute ride there. I could never forget the way to it. Once we hit the front of his land he stopped. “What is it?” I asked.
“Nothing it’s just that I miss seeing you come over.”
“I missed coming over Brandon.” He grabbed my hand and drove to the back of the house. Once inside I laid my jacket on the chair. I missed how warm the house was and how it looked.
“I can’t remember the last time I was here.” I said as I looked at the kitchen.
“I do.” He said as he walked up to me.
“Like it was yesterday.” Then he got a sad look on his face and added. “I remember what you said. How you looked at me. What you were wearing. The way you smelled.” He said as he lends in to kiss me.
“But I like it this time so much better.” And with that he kissed me softly.
“Your touch. Your smell. You voice. You look so much better than last time though.”
“Oh. Yeah?”
“Yes very much so. “
I kissed him back and he moved me up again a wall.
“So?”
“So what?” He stopped.
“What are we going to do today? And what time do you have to be home tonight?”
“Well-“ I said as I kissed him again. “I don’t care what we do and I don’t-“ I said again. “Have to be home tell nine or so.
“Okay good.” He picked me up by the small of my back and walked us to his room.
We laid on the bed and watched a movie tell his dad called and said he was on his way home. We then moved to the living room and pulled out our homework. We both worked on math and then when his dad walked in stopped. He looked at me and said hi then looked at Brandon then walked into the other room.
He ran back into the living room to look at me.
“Arianna is that you?”
“Yes sir.” I said as I stood up.
“Well, well, well, I can’t believe it’s you. It’s been what three year since the last time that I saw you?” he said as he hugged me.
“What are you doing here?“ he said.
“Umm just hanging out and help Brandon on homework.”
“Well it about time that he starts getting help on that stuff.” I smiled at him then looked back at Brandon.
He laughed one more time before going into the kitchen.
I walked back over a sat down on the coach and grabbed my book and note book.
“Brandon where’s my pen?” I said as I looked around me.
I looked up at him as he looked around himself. I grabbed my bag and looked for a different one. “Oh you mean this one?” I looked over at him as he held my pen.
“Yes that one.” I Moved over my books and went to grab my pen when he pulled it farther away so that I couldn’t grab.
“Brandon please give me the pen.” I said as I went to grab it again. He moved it again. I was on top of him now. I looked at him as he pulled me in to kiss me. I kissed him then pulled away.
“Your dads in the other room.”
“So your point is, he love you.”
“Hey Ari.”
I moved off him faster than I’ve ever moved.
“Yes sir?” I asked.
“Will you be staying for dinner?” He said.
I looked at Brandon and at his dad as he walked in.
“Sure, I would love that.” I said smiling big.
