I walked beside my father silently as we headed to Derek’s office.
And even though our morning was normal, I could feel that he was troubled.
“Are you ok, dad?”
I asked him softly while trying to hold my bag, laptop, and some paper.
He gave me a side glance when he saw how awful I was juggling all these things together and smiled.
He tried to take the laptop, but I pushed his hand away, grinning at him when I saw him frown.
“No, you are the boss and I’m your lackey here. Let me treat you with the respect your demand sir.”
I teased him a little, and he awarded me with a faint chuckle, then he stroked my hair before resuming our walk.
Again, when he acts like that, I can see how handsome and young he is.
