Upon strolling around, I found three doors with one leading to the previous room, then the other to the storage and the hallway. I don’t even know if you can call this a mansion, since the size of this place is unimaginable, it is almost similar to a castle. It would take me several days to cover all the areas and pathways.
I closed my eyes to rub the sides of my forehead, then all of a sudden, I heard a voice. But it wasn’t something I heard with my ears but with my mind. Then the owner of the voice appeared, eerily wandering in this pitch-black space.
“I was finally away from that irritating boy. He always feels on top of the world just because he can beat me. He knows we both have the same number of losses." A young girl wearing a blue, vest-like dress with short, white sleeves and blank pants was stomping her feet irritatingly in the dark alley. Her figure was so faint that she eventually disappeared into the darkness.
I rubbed my eyes to check if it was real or just an illusion. Either way, I decided to go after her.
It wasn’t long before I stopped walking and noticed something on the far left of the corridor. There were streaks of light that had escaped on the side which I comprehend was a door leading to a room.
I walked closer, gradually hearing some sounds from behind it. The nearer I got to that area, the more certain I was that they were voices. The door creaked as I slowly pushed it open but not loud enough for anyone to notice.
When I peeked inside, I recognized the place right away.
The same room I was formerly taken to when I was getting dragged out from my previous confinement. All betas except that guy, Jackson, were present inside, but there was no sign of that alpha.
“Is there anyone among the rogues who were alive except the girl and the kid?" Sam asked, looking through files that were spread on the coffee table.
“There were sightings of strangers in a nearby town, but it hasn't been confirmed if they were that pack's members or someone else," Riz answered.
“Just forget about them. They aren't worth the time, they turn tail instead of protecting their alpha. They would wet themselves if they ever found out what happened to their pack when they were busy running for their lives."
I clutched my hand as hard as I heard those words come out of that womanizer guy’s mouth. Making fun of what had happened to my pack just brings up the torment that I was trying to bottle up inside.
Ray whimpered in pain when Riz elbowed him hard in the stomach. “That's not something to joke about. Many people died, Ray."
You should have thought of that before you've done it.
A loud bang at the door was heard, startling us all in the room.
Just then, a soldier runs inside with his back bending forward and his hands on his knees. He tries to catch his breath and make it steady.
“This better be important," Sam asserted.
“T-The Alpha, h-he's gone" he panted, still trying to find the words.
They all stood at their feet. “Did you check the training grounds?"
“Yes, and all the possible places he could go to. "
“Sam, did Jace tell you anything about going somewhere or meeting someone?” Riz asked.
“No.."
Is that something to panic about? I'm sure their alpha's strong enough to take care of himself.
Farah, we have to go find him.
And since when do I get orders from you?
Farah, Please...
It would be a lot better if he got himself killed.
Farah!
I didn't back down when my wolf tried taking control of my body. There was no way I would lose like last time again. When she suddenly stopped resisting, I accidentally amplified the force I was exerting and accidentally shoved the door open.
Everyone's eyes were on me who was now lying flat on the floor.
"Great... Just great."
