Aysha and Jordan walked together to the great hall, where everyone was gathering before entering the ballroom. Since there was still half an hour before the ball started, only a handful of people were present; most were servants who were offering people appetizers from silver trays.

“It’s a little stiff, but otherwise alright,” Aysha said while looking around the room. She noticed her father and sisters stand across the room greeting guests, and as soon as her father saw her, he gave her a stern look that told her that she was to come over to him.
