Chapter 1   The Planning   Don Miguel woke up early that morning. Last night she was thinking about what to give to granddaughter Dahlia. He was twenty -three that day. Dahlia is adored by Don Miguel. Don Miguel shoulder constantly all the expenses for Dahlia's birthday celebration, even though her parents are financially capable.   "Oh, Papa?! Laila seemed surprised to see her father eating alone.   "It's good you're awakened," said Don Miguel to Laila while he was eating.   "Are you mad at us, your granddaughter for not coming with us to breakfast?" Laila asked her father in astonishment.   "No, why should I be angry? In return, she asked, "It's better if you sit down and when you can eat with me" said Don Miguel smilingly.   "Why are you eating alone? Only now do I see you eating alone. You used to eat with me and Dahlia? "she asked his father in astonishment.   "Why should I wait for you, I'm going somewhere else this morning? The father asked again.   "Where are you going?" Bogart gathered his colleagues.   "I received a message from Bossing, (They called bossing their leader) " he said.   "This afternoon we will carry out the plan with the old man," said Bogart.   "Who will lead, will Leo continue? Question it. "    "Yes, Leo will take the lead in the k********g," Bogart said.   "Is that so?" Max underestimated Leo's ability.   "The question is, where is the leader of that a*******n? " Max smiles sarcastically.     3   "That's enough Max," said Bogart,  "I guess you know already what you're going to do, "Bogart asked his colleagues who ignored Max's seeming teasing.   "I and the rest of our comrades are ready, but what you say will lead the a*******n is probably not ready" Max seemed to be complaining, "The plan was not heard, how, there are other concerns" he added.   "Where are you from Leo" Asked Bogart.   "Where else but to his women ", Max replied   "If you're not the one being asked, don't answer" Leo was uncontrollably annoyed.   "Why can't I answer eh? I know the answer" was Max's philosophical answer, who was annoyed with Leo because of his envy of the young man.   "Are you annoying me? You did nothing but intrigue me" Leo said, annoyed.   "You're arrogant" shouted Max.   Leo was about to punch Max but Bogart shouted.   "That's enough. I will punch you both", warned Bogart. "You better get ready, prepare your weapons for your a*******n later," said Bogart.   "Teach him a lesson," Max urged, "because you always tolerate him."There he goes, becoming hardheaded." He added.   The two have to stop otherwise I will tie you both to a tree full of ants!" Warned Bogart. They both stopped because they both knew Bogart will do whatever he says. He became the right hand of the syndicate leader because of his courage.   Getting Ready   Laila went to Manang's kitchen in the morning. (Manang is what they call their oldest maid who is also considered the butler of the mansion because of her time with them).   "Manang! Manang". Laila was nonplussed. She was unprepared for her daughter's birthday. She forgot it and now, she doesn't know what to do first. Don Miguel just shook his head as he heard the instructions to the helpers to prepare for Dahlia's birthday. One was ordered to go to the market, the other was ordered to clean and tidy the grounds of the mansion. Laila knew they were wasting time but would still do everything to get them ready. After eating, Don Miguel went to his car where his driver was waiting. They will have many more visitors tonight.   Meanwhile, while Laila was busy ordering what to do, Dahlia woke up. Maybe it's also excited because it's his birthday.   "Mommy" he called his mother as he approached his mother's place.   "Oh, are you dressed too? Are you leaving, "Laila asked one after, she was surprised to see that her daughter was dressed up.   "Yes" was Laila's short reply.   "You're leaving? But it's your birthday today" Laila's astonished question Dahlia who was already wearing fitted jeans and a white t-shirt. Although Dahlia grew up in a wealthy family, it was simple to dress. He probably inherited his grandfather's simplicity. 4   "That's why I'm leaving because it's my birthday," she said jokingly.   "But it is your birthday Honey" I'm----   "Stop worrying, Mommy" Dahlia replied immediately without waiting to finish the rest of what her mother would have said, " I don't want to celebrate my birthday here at the mansion, anyway" she added.   "Honey, why? Laila asked her daughter, seemingly confused because he was used to celebrating his son's birthday in the yard of the mansion.   His sad voice said, "I have the feeling that I don't want to celebrate my birthday today."   "Honey, why?"  The perplexed mother looked at her, asking why she refused to celebrate her 23rd birthday.   She sighed.   "Just let me celebrate my birthday with only my friend Eiya," he said, and then went to the table to eat breakfast.   However, Laila continued to prepare. Every year, the Montecillo family celebrates the birthday of each family member, so even though Dahlia doesn't want to celebrate her birthday, Laila continues to prepare because those who know or remember her birthday will come.   Dahlia Invitation to Eiya to Come with her   " Eiya, come with me" said Dahlia to Eiya.   "How can I come with you I have a job   "Come on, you gave me a birthday gift," she said, winking at her with a smile.   "Where are we going?" I asked Eiya.   "At the resort" answered Dahlia   "It would be nice, but I have to go to my work."   "Come on, you gave me a birthday gift," she said, winking at her with a smile.   "Work again?   "Come on, you gave me a birthday gift," he said with a smile.       5   "Where are we going?" "One more thing: you're not really going to be my personal assistant, it's just a show." Dahlia was smiling.   "What are you talking about? I asked Eiya.   It's just a prop so that my daddy and mommy will agree to hire a personal assistant because the truth is that we will always be together.   "That's it. You're going to pay me. That's the hard part because, by the time you pay me, we'll lose our friendship," he said.   "Why disappear? Of course, I can't refuse because you are paying me," she explained.   "And who told you that I would command you?  I won't, promise," added Dahlia.   "You, spoiled brat," says Eiya smilingly.   "I will be your Personal Assistant, in Tagalog, alalay,  what is the job of the alalay (Personal Assistant). "You will be paying me, so I can't refuse your command, and when I become your servant, then I am no longer your friend," was the explanation of Eiya.   "I won't order you," Dahlia said. "Promise," she added.
