The Werewolf Academy: Unexpected Mate

The moment the moon rose fully and shined down the forest, the gate was shut and a long howl sounded. Following the howl, indistinct voices were heard and the footsteps of people were all heading to the same place. When they all got to the biggest building in the vicinity, they stopped and look up to the top floor of the building with utmist anticipation. Not long after, a wolf came out of the top floor of the building. The wolf was white and hairy, his eyes were dim and his legs were shaking. Obvious, the wolf is in its old age. The white wolf howled and the people below it all bowed to it. The white wolf turned into an old man with a crown on his head, he had a golden staff which obviously wasn't used to support his movement, it was the sign of his authority. With a sharp but wickering voice, the old man spoke "To all members of the werewolf academy, today makes it my 172nd years of me governing this academy. However, I'm living my last breath since I'm now 200 years old and can die at anytime. However, we should not worry, I might be old but our were-warriors are still as strong as ever to protect us from the vampires and negating packs" Voices started raising among the academy members and indistincts chatters raised. The old man could make out that the academy members are not satisfied to have a weak alpha. "To avoid any problem before and after my death, I have decided to select an a werewolf that will become the Alpha of this academy. Like our custom, only a royal can become an Alpha and we will ensure we give you the strongest Alpha to govern you very soon. Our royal families are in search of very strong beta and gammas to be their mates because only with a strong mate can a royal be considered to become the Alpha. So this is the time for you werewolves to show your talent and abilities, help the academy in finding the strongest couple to govern it. Conversations were ongoing between them but the hall was silent when the Alpha sat on his throne. The Alpha cleared his voice and said "All royals that has been selected to compete for the Alpha position, please come before the thrown" Following the Alpha's call, four men came before the throne, they were muscular and expressionless. Their gaze alone was enough to pressurize any weak werewolf and a domineering aura can be felt from them. The Alpha nodded in satisfaction when he saw the contesting wolves.. "You are all Alpha to be, for years you have been training to be Alpha and you've all done well and made it to the another stage; the selection of a mate. It used to be the belief of every Alpha that the strongest is the prettiest, choose your mate wisely and do not search for love, search for strength. Love is a distraction for people like you. The council will await your decision and your mates must be produced after 30 days, be well. During the mate search, you will be given other tests too" The Alpha advised. "To being the top contestant and wishing you the Alpha title" The cups hit each other and both of them drank from their cups. "You know dad, I'm thinking of choosing Thea as my mate, what do you think?" Ardolf asked "Good idea, Thea is a royal and have been through lots of trainings, she will surely match you perfectly " Ardolf's dad replied while munching meat in his mouth. "Ashina? But she is the Alpha's daughter, you think she will be that easy to get?" Ardolf's mum asked "Don't worry mum, Ashina and I have been close since childhood, she won't deny me" Ardolf replied confidently.
