Shivering and turning restlessly on his bed, Klaus could hear chants being made all around him. It was as though he was surrounded by witches. He grabbed the sheets as he felt a burning sensation in his head, like his head was threatening to explode. “No no no" He kept on muttering, shaking vigorously as he did so. “Hey Klaus!" He heard a voice. But it didn't do much to bring him out of the hell he was in. “Klaus!!" The voice called more audibly. He wished he could follow the voice out of the nightmare he was in. He knew he was dreaming but he felt trapped, like there was nothing he could do to wake up. “KLAUS!" The voice yelled again, this time followed with a punch. Klaus gasped awake, sitting up abruptly on his bed. He was panting heavily, soaked in sweat. His hair was matted to his face, shielding his eyes. He brushed his hair away from his eyes and quickly took a look around. He sighed with relief, leaning back against the backrest of his bed. Relieved he was back to reality in the comfort of his dorm room, he wiped the bead of sweat from his forehead just before his eyes fell on Theo who was still standing beside his bed. “Hey" Klaus called, still trying to catch his breath. “Seriously man, I thought the nightmares were ending" Theo folded his arms, staring at him with a puzzled look. “So did I...but apparently, it's getting worse instead" “I can't keep hitting you everytime you don't want to wake up from your nightmares, whatever they are. You need to see someone about it. Maybe Ms D" Theo advised before turning back to his bed. He picked up his t-shirt and put it on. He ruffled his short brown hair a bit. “You're lucky we don't have classes today. It's 9am already" “Lucky me... I do have somewhere I need to be though" He replied, climbing down from the bed. He stretched his muscles and then picked up his small towel. “Dude! Have you been working out lately?" Theo asked, staring at his bare torso and hardened pecs. “No dude, I've been growing lately" He quipped. “And I can say the same about you too" “Yeah I noticed too. What do you think is the reason?" “Well if you had been listening in class instead of staring at Ms Blossom's ass all day, you would remember her saying our anatomy is different from others, wolves keep growing until they are 21, not 18. We are 18 now dude" He shook his head before grabbing his toothbrush. “Well that's interesting" “And where are you heading to without bathing? You do know it's a no class day, not a no shower day, right?" “Come on man, I'm just heading to the sport hall to grab my gear... and besides, I have a nice wolf smell" Theo replied “What? Dude! Your smell like peanut butter and cheese on your best day. Need I remind you that witches don't smell your wolf scent, they smell your YOU scent. And right now, your YOU scent, is not appealing" “Fine I get it" Theo sighed “Seriously, sometimes I wonder how girls consider you as hot. Girls can be weird with their preferences sometimes, but then again, only I get to see this side of you. But I tell you, your future mate is in for a ride" Klaus added, as he was walking into the bathroom. “What about you though? What plans do you have today?" Theo called after him. “Well I'm meeting up with the witch at the library, regarding the history project. She sent her friend to tell me that's where she would be today. Since we are free, we are gonna start working on it. I think she's taking this school thing seriously" Klaus replied before turning on the shower. “And what time are you supposed to meet with her?" “Erm...9am" “Dude! I just told you it's 9am like ten minutes ago" “Oh s**t!" He cursed, realizing he was late already. He rushed through his shower and his morning routine, sparing no time to check if he did them right. He rushed out of the bathroom whilst drying his hair. Theo walked past him into the bathroom, laughing. “Why the hell are you laughing pennywise?" Klaus, questioned, picking out a jean and a hoodie. “Something funny?" “No it's just, I've never seen you act so hurriedly for something that concerns school..not even when you're late for class. Look at you getting all hasty, trying to meet up with a girl for an assignment. She must be one hot girl" “Okay first of all, I'm in a hurry just so I can keep up appearances, since she might be doing this project alone. Secondly, she's a witch man, I'm a wolf, it doesn't matter how hot she is, nothing is ever gonna happen, nothing can happen. Have you ever heard of a witch and wolf falling in love? It doesn't happen, those feelings can never grow because nature won't will it so" “Actually I have heard. The story of Raina and Liam, remember? In history class. She was a witch and he was a wolf and they fell in love. Two thousand years ago" Theo pointed out. “Honestly I'm more shocked that you paid attention in class" Klaus replied with furrowed brows as he put on his jean. “Come on man, who doesn't know the story, its a base for everything supernatural now. With the bonding s*x they did and all" “Oh! Now I know why you paid attention, there was s*x" He scoffed, putting on his hoodie. “Anyway, the point is, it's impossible to do that, it's against nature and it's forbidden and besides, the story of Raina and Liam ended tragically. They both died very young after being deemed as abominations" He explained. “Gotta go man. See you later" With that, he ran out of the room. “I hope so!" Theo called from the bathroom. *** Klaus rushed into the library room. He looked around until his eyes fell on Arya who was seated by one of the corners with three different textbooks opened in front of her. She seemed to be lost in the one in her hands. The library was pretty much empty as it tends to be on free days. Students took the day being free so serious that they try to avoid anything school related. He walked over to where she was, bobbing his head. “All these for some history assignment" He pointed out, his eyes fixed on her. “Look who decided to show up" She looked up at him with eyes that showed she wasn't happy with his lateness. He pulled up a chair and sat directly opposite her. “I can tell you're not happy with me being late. I woke up late. I am here now, so what do we have so far?" He asked with a smile, rubbing his palms together. “No apology? No sorry for keeping me waiting?" She questioned with a stern look. “Well I just explained why I was late. Definitely that is better than an apology" He shrugged. “What world are you living in? And besides where are your notes?" “We need a note?" Klaus asked, feigning surprise. “What are we gonna submit if not notes?" She crossed her arms. “And what good are notes when we don't know what to write yet? Let's know the history first and then we'll get a note and write down what we've gathered" He explained with a broad smile. Arya shook her head as she exhaled slowly. There was no point in arguing, she thought. It would just waste more time, time that should be used in studying. “Alright then. So what do we know about the history of the elder council?" “Wait...I still don't know your name" He tilted his head, eyes fixed on her “Arya, my name is Arya" She rolled her eyes “Nice. I'm..." “Klaus, yeah I know. Now let's get back to it shall we?" “Yes of course" He cleared his throat. “The Elder Council, yeah they are a bunch of assholes" He blurted out “What?" Her eyes widened with surprise. “You heard me. All they do is sit and judge people. Like they did two thousand years ago, you know, with Raina and Liam, where it all started. They arose from that situation, made a shitty judgement that got those two killed and have since maintained such attitude. So here we are, two thousand years later and they are still assholes. Boom! End of story, assignment done. Can we leave now?" Still taken aback by all he just said, Arya couldn't believe just how different their beliefs were. She personally believed the elder council are doing really well, keeping the peace and punishing evil. “Why would you have such beliefs?" She questioned. “Because it's the truth... Give me one good call they've made in the past two thousand years" “How about bringing witches and werewolves together? Making us see that we can live together in peace and harmony? Or how about the fact that they prevented the end of us supernaturals, by averting the prophecy that would've been fulfilled by Raina and Liam?" She explained “They were murdered, sacrificed without being given the chance to try and live apart" “Do you think it's easy to live apart from the one you love? They would have ended up coming back together, fulfilling the prophecy" “But we don't know that, do we? They were never given a chance, so we can't know that for sure... Look, all I know is the four elders are assholes playing God on all our lives" Klaus pointed out, relaxing back on his chair. “Hmmm.. there are just three elders" Arya replied “Nope, four. Two witches and two wolves" “Actually there are three of them. Two witches and one wolf" She argued “You don't know much about history do you?" He asked, sitting up. “There are four elders. One disappeared and was never seen again. It's been 500 years now. They said he's dead but there's no proof. I personally believe he's still out there, in the shadows" He explained “Why would he do that? What reason could he have for leaving the other elders. It just doesn't make any sense" Said Arya, c*****g her brows. “Like I said, they are assholes and probably evil. Maybe that's why he left them. Who knows?" He shrugged “Is it true though?" “Is what true?" “That you have...." She paused, rolling her finger in front of her eyes. “Oh, that I have yellow eyes?" He scoffed lightly. “Well that wasn't random at all... Yeah I do" He added before showing her his wolf eyes, which were glowing dark yellow. “Nice huh?" He smiled “That means you really have...." “Yeah Nancy Drew, I have, hence the eyes" He cut in, feeling a bit uncomfortable talking about it. “You know, curiosity does kill the cat" He added *** Clutching her notes to her chest as she made her way down the hall toward the spell room, Arya couldn't help but revisit her study session with Klaus. It wasn't as she had expected. Although they didn't get any work done. They spent the better part of their time arguing about their differences in beliefs. She thought he was being a pain in the ass but she was surprised she loved it, loved arguing with him. He didn't seem as bad as everyone was portraying him to be, but then again, that was her first time hanging out with him. He's probably just keeping up a facade, she thought. She blocked the thoughts of him out of her head as she stepped out of the classroom building. As soon as she stepped out of the building, she saw Klaus, standing there, leaning against the wall. “'bout time you ended your studying session" He commented “What the hell Klaus?!" She called out, a bit startled by his presence. “Why are you here by this time? It's late" “Waiting for you" He pointed out. “What?!" She asked with furrowed brows. “Why are you here Klaus? Wait, you've been here for three hours waiting for me?" Her eyes widened with surprise. “Of course not. Only losers do that. I just came some minutes ago when I ran into your friend and she said you weren't back yet. She was looking a bit worried" Klaus explained. “Oh... so you came to make sure I was okay?" She asked more calmly, thinking he cared “Why would I do that? You're the one who chose to go alone into an empty part of the school to study. By the way, that's a dangerous way to live. Any who, I just came here because I need your help" He replied and then swiftly snatched her notes from her. “Now come with me Little witch, I need your help with something important" He stated, walking past her back into the class building. He knew she had no choice but to follow since he was with her precious notes. “Wait!" She called, walking after him. “Aren't you the one who just said it's dangerous going to an empty part of the school?" “Well this time, you're not alone. You have me" He flashed her a smile before turning to face the road ahead. She rolled her eyes, still following behind him. They made a right turn toward the direction of the staff offices. “Where are we going anyway? And what is it you want my help with?" “We are going... here" He stopped right in front of the principal's office. Before she could object to whatever idea he had in his head, he had forced the door open. “And voila, we are in" “What the hell are you doing? We could get in trouble. I don't want to be the new girl who got into trouble within her first two days at the school" She complained. “More importantly, don't be the new girl who doesn't know how to take risks and help out her friends. It's bad to have that in your life resúme" He c****d his brows at her. “What do you want?" She sighed, entering the office. “Yes!" He whispered, following her in. “I want to get into his secret file cabinet. I want to know when the mating ceremony is taking place. I hate being in suspense and he doesn't want to the reveal the details yet. It's full moon tomorrow and I think it's fixed on a date just after the full moon" Klaus explained, “Why do you need me here when you can just fish it out yourself?" She turned to ask him. “Because I've tried before. The locks are sealed with a spell. Only the principal can access the files. So I need you Little witch, to do your witchy thingy and help me access it" “This is wrong. What if we get caught?" She whispered, feeling a bit scared. “Not if you hurry up.. there's the file cabinet" He pointed at the cabinet by the side of the desk. She took a deep breath before walking to where it was. She waved her hand slowly in front of it, feeling the magic around it. “You're right, it is sealed with magic" Arya pointed out. She grabbed the lock and shut her eyes. Klaus watched on, waiting for to say a spell but to his amazement the lock clicked open. “Wait, is that it? No spell recitation, nothing?" He moved over to her and checked to see that the lock was really open. “I've been opening locks since I was kid. I don't need spells to do that. Now be fast about it before someone comes" “Yeah right" Klaus began browsing through the neatly and well ordered files inside the cabinet. He browsed through for some more seconds before he came upon it. His eyes shone with excitement. “Found it!" He called, drawing Arya's attention. “Now let's see... when am I getting a girlfriend?" He quipped, flipping through the pages of the file. “Here!" Arya pointed out the right page. “Oh..." She read with furrowed brows. “That's five days from now" “It's so close, why haven't they announced it yet?" Klaus questioned just before they heard footsteps approaching and saw lights waving, probably from a flashlight. “s**t!" “Someone is coming what do we do?" She asked, her heart pounding as she felt a rush of adrenaline. Klaus tiptoed hurriedly to the door and quietly shut it. “It's security" He whispered to her. “Quick, do your witchy thing Ma Bobby" He rushed back to where she was standing. “My witch what?" She asked with a confused look. “Your magic spell, abracadabra and make us disappear or something. Unless you want to be tagged a rebel like me when we are caught by that hound of a security guard" “Fine, I know a spell" She rolled her eyes. The footsteps were a few metres from them now and they could see the flashlight clearly. She took a deep breath. “Invinsique" She muttered the spell. Klaus looked around with furrowed brows. “I don't think anything happen. We are still here" “Yeah we are still here, just invisible. No one can see us right now" She replied. “I don't feel like I'm invisible" He stated. “Well just to be sure we are under the same spell...." He grabbed her hand and held it in his. Immediately their hands made contact, they both gasped simultaneously, their eyes flashing black for a second before they dropped down, passed out. They laid there on the floor, out cold while still holding hands.
