Blackouts

Gasping as she sat up abruptly, Arya looked around in confusion. She was in her dorm room, on her bed. “What the hell" She muttered with puzzled eyes. The last thing she remembered was Klaus grabbing her hand in the principal's office. How was it that she was waking up in her room? She looked out the window and that was when she realized it was morning. Her confusion grew more. She jumped out of bed, picking up her phone. 9:30am was on display. “How's this possible?" She asked herself, she had been out for almost fifteen hours. The door flung open with Blair walking in. As soon as she saw Arya, her eyes lit up and she rushed to her. “Thank goodness you're awake. You got me scared there for a minute. I thought something had happened to you so I left to go call Miss Grainger" She explained “Well I think I'm fine....what the hell happened Blair? How did I get here?" “I'm just as confused as you are. I was looking all over for you yesterday but couldn't find you. I decided to come back in and there you were, on your bed, knocked out. I thought you had turned in early and decided not wake you. That was until this morning when things took a turn. I tried waking you when you wouldn't even stir. I tried and I tried but nothing, you were blank. You were breathing but blank. That's when I became worried and rushed out to go get Miss Grainger. She's on her way here" “Oh, there you are" Miss Grainger called, walking in. “You're awake. Ms Croft came to me saying you weren't waking up. Are you okay dear?" She asked with concerned. “Yeah, I'm fine, thanks" Arya nodded. “Blair was just a bit overreacting. I wasn't dead or anything" She scoffed “Alright then. I'll leave you girls to it then" Miss Grainger concluded and left. Blair turned swifty at Arya, shooting her an angry look. “Seriously? Making me the girl who cried wolf?" “I just didn't want her to take it seriously or start asking questions" She explained “But it is serious Arya. I mean, what the hell happened?" “I don't know, but I need to see Klaus, right now. How can I see him?" “Okaay, I don't know why you want to but you can see him in the main hall. That's where he will be, that's where everyone will be and that's where we should be in the next thirty minutes. So hop in the shower and get yourself cleaned up" Said Blair “Why? What's happening in the main hall?" “The principal has an announcement to make. Plus..." She trailed off “Plus what?" Arya pressed on. Blair sighed, her expression dimming. “Plus they found a body, a dead body" “Holy s**t" Was all Arya could get out *** Arriving at the main hall, the whole place was filled up. Every student and staff was present, waiting to hear what the principal had to say. With loud murmurs filling the room, all that could mostly be heard was the topic of the dead body. Everyone had their own opinion. Some thought it was a wolf that must have done it, some thought it might be the witches and Arya even heard someone saying maybe it was Klaus again. “How am I gonna find him, this place is packed" She said to Blair. “I'll keep an eye out but I guess you'll have to probably wait till the meeting is over" “Yeah I guess. Let's just...." Arya trailed off as she began feeling some sort of presence. Feeling some sort of force, drawing her attention. She forced her way through the crowd, heading toward the direction where she felt it from. She glanced back and saw Blair following closely behind her. Getting to the middle of the hall, she heard Klaus' voice behind her. “Hey! Little witch" He stood beside her, “We need to talk" He added as soon as she turned to look at him. Seeing him again, Arya saw that something had changed. How she saw him and perceived him had changed, how she felt toward him had changed. Before she could proceed to say something, the principal cleared his throat into the mic, drawing everyone's attention. “Silence now!" Mr Dawn, the principal of Phoenix high ordered. Seeing him for the first time, he wasn't what Arya had imagined him to be. He looked more intimidating with his rugged looks. His shaved head had not a single strand of hair. He had a full beard that was neatly trimmed. He stood tall at about 6'5ft. His rugged and deep voice made him all the more intimidating. “Morning to you all. You all must have heard the news already, I guess with that, we can't tag this meeting as one for good news" He paused and then cleared his throat before continuing. “We are sad to announce that the body of one of our brightest was found pale and cold by the library building. He was a wolf and not a witch as some of you thought, and in contrary to what you believed might have happened, the death was a suicide. We found a written note beside him and we confirmed his penmanship and it was indeed written by him. We wouldn't go into full detail as to why he did it but all we can say is that he had a lot of demons he was battling with.. Now let's take a moment of silence to mourn him" He instructed and immediately, the whole hall went dead silent. Not even a cough was heard in one minute. “May the moon goddess accept his soul" The principal broke the silence. “Now, just so you know, classes and other activities will continue as usual..." This drew some complains and loud murmurs from the students. “And...and!" He called out loudly, trying to get back their attention which worked. The hall was silent again. “And for what you all have been waiting for.. well, the wolves at least, The mating ceremony would take place on Sunday, four days from now and..." The hall erupted with cheers and howling from the wolves. The excitement was so much no one could hear the principal's voice anymore. Arya glanced at Klaus and was surprised to see he wasn't as excited as the others about the news. It puzzled her even more because he was the one that wanted to break into the principal's office to know the date. “Calm your horses now!!" The principal yelled into the mic, which did the trick. “Now, I know you all are excited about this. So you'll be excited about this also, we are hosting it here this year" He announced and got another round of cheers and applause. “Before you get excited and forget about what's important right now, let me remind you that tonight is the full moon and you all know what to do. Please, all witches should stay in their quarters all through the night. For your safety, please I advise you do. Now as you know, there won't be any classes today because of the full moon. Go about your day indoors and when it's time, I employ you to do what's right. Thank you" Mr Dawn concluded and walked away. The students followed suit, trooping out of the hall, with the wolves still excited about the news they got. Discussing about it, teasing eachother about the kind of mates they were gonna get as they trooped out the hall also. “Come with me" Klaus whispered to Arya and then began walking to the direction of the side door. Klaus led her out of the main hall and crossed into the next building which housed the game room. Feeling sure they were out of prying eyes and earshot, he turned briskly to Arya with a questioning and pissed off look. “What the hell did you do little witch? I woke up on my bed this morning to my roommate telling me I wasn't waking up when he tried waking me. So what did you do? How the hell did we go from almost getting caught in the principal's office to waking up in our rooms this morning?" “I don't know Klaus, I'm just as confused as you are. Nothing of sort has ever happened to me" “Then figure it out! Isn't it a witch thing? Look into some of your spell books and find out what happened and what it means" “You think everything is that easy huh?" Arya asked with c****d brows. “It should be. How do we know if this doesn't have an effect on us?" “And how do we know we didn't have anything to do with the wolf's death" Arya blurted out “Wait! What?" Klaus eyes shot open. “Okay calm down little witch. We just blacked out for a few hours. We didn't go on a killing mission. Stop imagining things, it's not good for my health" “I mean, how do we know for sure? We didn't wake up where we passed out, we woke up in our rooms with no knowledge as to how we got there. What if we made some stops along the way?" Arya pressed on. “This isn't making a stop and getting eggs from the grocery store or making a quick stop to get morning after pills. We are talking about murder here... and besides, you heard Mr Dawn, it was a suicide. Confirmed and all. So let's just stop talking about murder. It's the full moon today and our emotions are heightened. So right now, I'm getting a bit agitated from this talk" Klaus explained, holding his chest. “Okay, sorry" Arya replied, seeing that it was really getting to him. “Alright. Whatever it was that happened, when you grabbed my hand. How about we try it again?" She suggested “Alright" He nodded in agreement. They both walked closer to each other and took a deep breath. “Here goes nothing" Klaus muttered, staring directly into her eyes as he slowly took both her hands in his. *** Arya gasped awake, waking up on her bed. She looked around whilst panting and her confusion grew more. She was back in her room. She couldn't phantom what was happening. It had happened again and now she was back in her room with no idea how. “What the hell Arya?!" Blair's loud voice, drew her out of her reverie. She hadn't realized Blair was standing right beside her bed. “Hey Blair" She replied, getting up to her feet with a worried look on her face. “Hey? Is that all you're gonna say? This is the second time you're waking up from a dead sleep. I was seconds away from going to call Ms Grainger. What is going on? Are you using some sort of spell?" “Seriously Blair, I don't know what's happening. I'm just as confused as you are, alright?" She paused, taking a deep breath. “The thing is, whenever Klaus and I hold hands, we pass out and we each wake up in our dorm rooms with no idea what happened or how we got there" She explained “What? What are you talking about? That is..." “Crazy, yeah I know. I don't know why or how. Right now, I need to go find Klaus" Arya stated, zipping up her jacket. “You can't, not right now" Blair stopped her from moving “What do you mean I can't?" Arya questioned with furrowed brows “Look" Blair pointed out the window. Arya did as she said and looked out the window. “It's night and the moon is fully out" “What the hell? How long have I been out for?" “Ten hours, give or take" Blair replied “Holy s**t" She cursed just before they heard howling from all around the school. “The Wolves are out already" “Yeah and fully shifted. It's best we stay inside" “Right, but I need to make sure he's okay. I need to know what happened to him" Said Arya with a worried look. “You can't Arya, not right now. You can find out when it's morning. I mean, besides don't you already know what happened to him?! Same thing that happened to you. You heard the principal, we can't go out. The wolves out there aren't fully trained yet and probably can't control their wolves fully. So it's safe for us inside" Blair advised. Arya looked around worriedly. She sat down by the edge of her bed and began tapping her foot on the floor repeatedly. She felt on edge and perturbed. She didn't like sitting around and morning seemed so far away to get the answers she was looking for. She glanced at Blair who was now seated on her bed also and suddenly her eyes lit up with an idea. “Maybe we don't have to leave the room to see him" “What do you mean?" Blair shot her a curious look. “Astral projection... I and my friends used to do it all the time at my old school. We can find him through astral projection" Arya explained. “First of all, that's a crazy idea and secondly, why the hell are you saying ‘We'? I'm not going on that crazy ride with you" She protested “Come on Blair. You know, I still don't know my way around the school fully. I'll need a guide" Arya pressed on “No way... and besides, if all the wolves are shifted outside, then Klaus won't be there" “What do you mean?" She asked with a puzzled look. Blair sighed. “Look, I don't know how true it is, but there's some rumour going around school, amongst the wolves, that Klaus isn't allowed to shift on full moons. He's always locked up with chains having spells engraved on them, stopping him from shifting. They said it's the punishment given to him by the elder council for his crime" “What? How true is that?" Arya asked with a look of disbelief “Like I said, I don't know how true it is" Blair shrugged “And where is he supposed to be locked up?" “In the dungeon obviously" “This school has a dungeon?" She inquired more surprised “The school is built on it. It's an old school remember. Dungeons were highly needed then. So down there is where he should be" Blair explained “More reason for us to check. Please Blair, I need you to do this for me. I have to know please" Arya pleaded Seeing the look of desperation on her friend's face, plus she was curious to know how true the rumor was, She sighed, giving in. “Fine. We'll check and we'll return, no diversion and no quick stops. Get it?" “Yeah, thank you" Arya nodded. She rushed to the door and locked it with the key. More howling could be heard from the wolves. They both climbed onto Arya's bed and sat down facing each other, sitting on their legs. Arya took Blair's hands in hers and they both shut their eyes. Taking a deep breath, Arya began reciting the spell. “Animum vult decipi, ergo decipiatur. Vis, vis, vis." Blair joined in and they continued reciting the spell until they felt a strong wind around them. Seconds later they felt a force pull them out of their bodies. Opening their eyes, their gaze fell on their hibernated bodies still sitting, facing each other on the bed. Arya exchanged glances with Blair, happy the spell worked. “Let's go" She whispered to her, before grabbing her hand. *** Appearing at the entrance leading to the dungeon below the school, Arya looked around making sure she knew where they were. It was just situated outside the class building. The door was sealed shut, only to be accessed from the principal's office. It was clearly off limit. She nodded her approval at Blair and they both walked through the door, coming out on the other side. It was dark safe for the burning flames hanging on the walls all the way down the stairs, no doubt fueled by magic. It was a long way down through stairs. Without wasting much time, they began descending down the stairs. The path down there, the walls and the designs all looked creepy and gave them chills. It made Arya wonder what kind of stuff must have gone down there in the past. After what seemed like forever, they finally came up to a passageway with cells on both sides all the way down the hallway. “He definitely got to be in one of this room if he is indeed here. Let's just hurry up and leave, this place is freaking me out" Blair pointed out, folding her arms with fear written all over her face. Making their way toward the first cell, they heard a whimper coming from the very first cell and then the sound of chains clanging followed. Exchanging glances, they hurried into the first room and to their surprise, there he was. Klaus, all alone in the dark room with a dim light. Both hands chained up to pillars on both sides of the room. “It is true" Blair whispered as they moved closer to him. “He seems like he's in a lot of pain" Arya commented, seeing the look on Klaus' face that showed he was hurting. Seeing him chained there, bounded by spell locks that kept him from shifting, made her feel sad. She felt sorry for him. And without knowing why, she felt a bit of an anger too. “At least now I know why he hates the elder council so much" Arya bent down in front of him, looking into his eyes. She could feel the pain he was in. He groaned from the pain he felt as his wolf tried to force himself out only to be pushed back down by the spell on the locks. “We have to help him" “Are you insane? We can't. Even if we want to, we can't. He's just gonna end up back here on the next moon. All we can do is hope the punishment will be over soon" Blair replied. Arya stood upright with more sadness. She turned to Blair to say something when she was stopped by a strong feeling. She felt a presence, one that seemed familiar. She looked around but no one was on sight. She then shifted her gaze to the roof. It was coming from above. She didn't know what it was but it was pulling her. “What? What is it?" “Come on!" She called out to Blair. Before Blair could object, Arya grabbed her hand and snapped her fingers. Blair felt a rush and when she opened her eyes, they weren't at the dungeon anymore. They were at the principal's office, and so was he, along with a lady who was wearing a long dark robe with a hood covering her face. “What the hell Arya?" Blair whispered angrily at her. “Shhhh" Arya shushed her, focusing on the discussion between the principal and the mysterious lady. “We have all been summoned by the elders, Dawn. The coven reagents, the wolf leaders and Alphas. It's happening, what we feared is happening" The lady stated “What is happening again?" The principal asked with a curious look “The prophecy! The prophecy has returned. We thought we averted it but obviously we didn't. Now it has returned and every coven is receiving the prophecy. You shouldn't have announced the mating ceremony yet. But maybe it'll help" She explained “How can it be? How can the prophecy return after centuries of nothing? What happened? what has changed?" The principal stood up with a worried look. “And I had to announce the ceremony. I came into the office to see the file containing the date on the floor. Someone was here, looking for it" The lady turned briskly at Arya and Blair, which made them gasp with fear. “And someone else is here now" The lady pointed out, walking toward their direction. Seeing this, their fear increased. Arya quickly grabbed Blair's hand and muttered the return spell. They both gasped awake, back in their bodies, breathing heavily. “That was close" Arya stated. “Yeah. Who the hell is that lady and what prophecy were they talking about?" Blair questioned. “The prophecy of doom" Arya replied
