Sarah's strange behavior..

1214 Words
By the time Anthony returned back home, it was already 8 p.m. Tired from the day's work, he forgot about Sarah's message and rang the door bell. He waited for some time and started getting irritated and was about to ring again when he heard a soft jingle sound in his coat pocket. That is when he remembered about Sarah's message. He sighed heavily and finally got inside by opening the door with his keys. He wondered where Sarah was and what she has been up-to without informing him. He felt both disappointing and angry at Sarah. "She is acting as though she is some boss of a company and is being burdened with work pressure that she could not even inform me." Loosening his tie , he heard his stomach grumble. "After a tired day all I get in return is to sleep with an empty stomach. How can this woman be so irresponsible?" he murmured angrily. As he walked to the kitchen to find some food in the refrigerator, his eyes fell on the dining table where a casserole , plate, fork and knife and glass were neatly arranged. He opened the lid of the casserole to find his nostrils  filled with an aromatic smell of lasagna , his all time favorite. But he found only one plate and one set of fork and knife instead of two. "Wait. Who had prepared this food? Does it mean that Sarah is back?" he thought curiously and rushed to his bedroom to look for her. But she was not there. He noticed her beauty products missing from the dressing table. He was amused at himself  for having noticed that. He never cared what products Sarah used, what fragrance she wore and what brands she dressed in. Wondering where Sarah might be, he walked out of the room. "Maybe she in the deck, her favorite place." Well though Anthony would never admit, he did notice smaller details about Sarah in his sub conscious mind. But he was too proud to accept it as he thought that it might make him vulnerable in front of her. Being ruthless is what he thought was the key to be a successful person. But very soon this notion of his was going to be changed for ever. As he came downstairs , he passed by another small bedroom and saw the door ajar. He lived in a house which had one master bed room , one theater room, one gaming room, one guest room and a terrace pool on the first floor while the ground floor had one big living room c*m dining room, kitchen, two smaller bedrooms which though furnished fully were hardly occupied and a big library c*m  study. Normally the  doors of the smaller bedrooms were kept closed as they hardly had any guests. Only Bianca was the first guest to ever have stayed in his house.  So when he saw the door slightly open of one of the smaller bedroom,  his heart began pounding loudly, thinking about having to host some other unwanted guest again. He and his relationship with the society was indeed very pathetic. He peeped in to look but his mouth dropped as he saw Sarah sleeping peacefully. His heart and mind was flushed with a mixture of various emotions and thoughts, all rushing in at the same time. He felt relieved of finally finding Sarah back at home but at the same time his heart stung seeing Sarah sleeping in some place else other than beside him . Soon he got angry as  he thought " How dare she shows attitude to me? Is she ignoring me? OK just wait , until I show you what actually ignoring looks like ?" Never had it happened earlier that they had slept separately after having an argument. At the most after an argument, Anthony would busy himself in the library and Sarah would come to cool off his anger. Anthony was feeling lost. He wanted to grab Sarah and take her back to his room but he was also angry at her for daring to ignore him. Not knowing what to do , he closed the door silently though he wanted to bang it loudly.  Cursing himself for reasons best known to God, he walked to the dinning table to have his dinner. Initially after finding Sarah in a separate bedroom, he thought of throwing away the meal cooked by her, but then his hunger over took his anger and he came up with the most childish excuse to himself "I paid for the groceries. Why should I sleep in hunger?" He filled his plate with the lasagna and his glass with white wine and he sat down to stuff his mouth with the food. But  millions of thoughts about Sarah's strange behavior kept oscillating in his mind. If one thought made him feel disappointed , soon another thought passes his mind making him lose his cool. Again thinking about whether Sarah had her dinner made him stop eating. He had stuffed his mouth with one bite after another bite ,  in a fit of rage  that he finally had to slow down in order to avoid choking. "Damn you Sarah. Why  are you doing this to me? As far as I remember I don't think I had misbehaved with you in this last month. You looked cheerful when your sister was here and now that she has gone back, you seem to have found a new trick to irritate me." he grumbled. With an angry mind and heavy heart he changed into his sleepwear and laid on this empty bed and starred at the ceiling. Suddenly a thought came and he changed his side to  the middle of his bed. "Tonight am going to sleep like a king. Even if Sarah comes up in the middle of the night to sleep here, she wont find any place." he smirked at himself and slept occupying the whole bed. The morning sun rays woke Anthony up at 9 a.m. He rubbed his eyes and came down to confront with Sarah for her previous day's behavior. He found his breakfast on the dining but could not find Sarah anywhere. He went out to the garage to check whether her car was still parked or not. Not able to find the car meant that Sarah had gone out.  Not wanting to exhaust his brain from thinking about the sudden strangeness of Sarah, he quietly had his breakfast and got ready to leave. Like the previous day , he found his house keys again being placed on top of his bag. This was a silent message meaning that even today Sarah will play  last night's game. He cursed but could not do any thing. He grabbed the keys and left  for office.  He felt helpless and restless about his situation. He had no idea how to deal with Sarah anymore. He tried figuring out if he had said her something that pissed her off or whether she deliberately was playing him. But he was left with the feeling of frustration as he was not able to conclude anything. You don’t understand pain of losing someone until you see yourself alone without the presence of that person.
