Chapter 45Investigator Vincent Falcone had only worked with the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) on one other occasion. The specially trained team responded to dangerous situations. Whenever someone barricaded themselves inside a structure, or for unusual, high-risk circumstances, SWAT got the nod. It wasn't much different from TV and the movies. They tooled around the city in a clearly marked ARV (Armored Rescue Vehicle), that resembled a fancy box truck, and wore olive green utility uniforms nearly identical to those worn by U.S. military. Over black balaclavas the officers wore flat steel helmets and bulky protective eye goggles, while their identity, (SWAT), was clearly marked in brilliant yellow on solid black ballistic vests.
