~ Rain
I pushed my heavy eyelids upwards, slowly opening my eyes. I took a look around me expecting to see My Destiny and stop him before he did anything unplanned for by me. I was surprised to find out that I was safely back in my room, sleeping on bed, not in the enchanted forest. I was relieved that I was still alive and not running away from death anymore. However, that feeling of relief did not last for long as my brain started to get flooded with questions. I even started to doubt if that was all a dream. It would make sense, I came back late yesterday and stayed up for too long. I was really tired.
I kept telling myself this, not sure, however, if I was succeeding in convincing myself. It made sense in my head at first, but then, being tired was not an excuse for lucid dreams.
I began to search my body for any signs of mud due to walking– and falling in the forest, however, I found none. Even my shoes were perfectly clean as if I have never stepped a foot inside the forest. I got up from bed and walked towards the dresser and stared at my reflect in the mirror positioned above the dresser.
My hair was as messy as it could get and my dark bags around my eyes intensified. I looked like a zombie and I was not even joking. It was horrifying.
That could have resulted from the running around in the forest the day before, but then, I could have looked like this all day and did not know about it. I huffed, throwing my hands up.
My head hurt from thinking too much that I decided to go out for a refreshing walk. I went inside the bathroom and splashed some cold water on my face, avoiding to look to much at my reflection in the mirror above the sink because it was low key scaring me.
I tried fixing my hair by going through it with my fingers, and then, tying it, securely, into a high bun. I pulled out a few of those strands in my front area, to give myself a little bit of volume in my hair. Then, I pulled a few hairs down my face as a finishing touch. My hair somehow started to look neat and I felt a little proud of myself afterwards.
I walked out of the bathroom, looking for my bag. I found it exactly where I left it the day before, prior to leaving my room or going anywhere. I blinked a couple of times, stopping myself from overthinking the situation again.
I opened my bag and looked for any sort of makeup that I had decided to bring with me to the party. I found concealer, mascara and a nude pink lipstick.
"Good." I whispered to myself. I went back to the dresser and applied a generous amount of concealer to cover up my dark circles. I blended it with my fingers since I somehow did not bring a beauty blender with me. It still did not perfectly cover the bags under my eyes, but I was content with how this came out to be. I am no beauty guru and I do not really care how I look, I just do not want to scare people. I applied some mascara as well and finished it up with only one coat of lipstick. I have always been told to put on at least two coats for the lipstick not to act as a sort of base, but I never listen.
I took one last look at the mirror, making sure that I looked decent. I put everything back in my bag and picked it up to take it out with me. I was not going anywhere special and I would not probably need it, but I did not feel safe leaving it in the room while I was somewhere else, giving, the previous intrusions to my room.
I checked my phone to find out that it was dead. I facepalmed. Why did I not bring my charger? I needed to find Avery and ask her if she had a charger that was compatible with my phone. She seemed to be the only sane person left in this pack.
I twisted the knob of the door to my room open, hoping that it was unlocked and fortunately, it was. I opened the door, stepping outside. I could hear the sound of life. The people of this pack were up and about, meaning that I was going to get a lot of strange looks from members passing by.
I decided to go to the backyard, breathe in some fresh air and explore this so called 'enchanted forest'. If everything that happened the day before was real, My Destiny would appear again, right? Would he?
I reached the backyard, and observed the collection of flowers and plants Samuel had in his there. Considering that I really appreciated the beauty of nature, the scenery was breathtaking in my eyes. I was so fascinated by what I was seeing until my eyes landed on the 'enchanted forest'. My eyes widened as I stared at it.
The light of sun did not penetrate its thick trees. It was like the forest absorbed the sunlight into dark abyss. The forest was just dark as it was last night. My heart skipped a beat at making my rethink my decision of entering it again. I stood there for a while, debating whether to follow my instinct and go back to my room, or go there anyway, and find answers to the unanswered questions that plagued my head.
After a few minutes of thinking, I made up my mind. I will enter the forest.
I understood the risk of this decision and that My Destiny might not appear again, thinking that I was not worthy of his second chance, but the urge to enter this forest was too much to handle.
I only now found out that It was not just about finding answers. I wanted to go there. Something inside of me kept urging me to walk inside.
I walked closer, approaching the forest with unsteady steps. I was nervous, but I was going through with this stupid plan, anyway. I halted suddenly, remembering what My Destiny had warned me about.
I make my own choices towards or away from my own death. He'll be waiting for me to make the wrong choice and collect my soul after I die.
Was I making the right choice? Definitely not. However, I kept walking, anyway, unable to make my legs stop...
