“Klaus,” I whispered. “Hm?” He asked, kissing my neck. “Can you please take a shower,” I said, pulling a leaf out of his hair. “Alright.” He chuckled, moving off of me and sitting on the edge of the bed. “How will I know you won’t run away?” He asked, narrowing his eyes at me. “I won’t. I promise.” I muttered with a blank expression. “Sadly, I don’t trust you on that,” He said. I sighed in frustration, and pulled myself off the bed. “So what’re you going to do? Tie me to the bed?” I asked sarcastically. “No,” He said, slowly walking over to me. He grabbed my arm, and forced my head up so that we were looking each other directly in the eye. “You will stay in this room until I get back.” He ordered, trying to compel me. I mentally sighed, knowing that I had vervain in my system. His compulsion wouldn’t work, and then, maybe, I could break free. “Do you understand?” He asked. I nodded my head, trying not to blink. “Good.” He smiled, gently letting go of me. I walked over to the bed and plopped myself onto it, trying to look like a mindless zombie. “Good girl,” Klaus said, patting my head. My act must have worked because he walked into the bathroom a moment later. I waited until I could hear the taps turn on before I made my way out the room. I loved Klaus, but this monster wasn’t him. Cautiously, I opened the door and peered into the living room. No one was there, and the front door was left wide open. As I tip-toed out of the room I noticed a life size trunk. Wonder what that’s for? I thought, but shrugged and carried on walking. When I got to the door I stopped and listened. The shower was still running, so I figured he was still inside. I raced out the apartment as fast as I could, and when I got outside it was still raining. “It’s better than being stuck with him,” I muttered. It was around one o’clock in the morning, and the streets were silent, except for the pattering rain and fierce wind. I ran as fast as I could to Elena’s house, and mentally cursed when I saw no one was home.Where the hell could they be? I whipped out my phone and quickly dialed Elena. “Hello?” She as answered. “Elena, it’s me.” I said into the receiver. “Aria! I’m so glad you’re ok,” I heard her sigh, “Where are you? Where’s Klaus? Are you hurt?” She kept up a stream of questions until I shushed her. “I’m fine. Calm down. Klaus isn’t with me, but I’m sure he’s looking for me. I need you to come get me. I’m at your house.” I said as fast and understandable as I could. “Alright. I’ll be there in a couple of minutes.” She muttered. I heard a click and the line went dead. Great, I’m by myself. I sighed, wrapping my arms around my torso. I may be and Original, but I still felt the cold. I leaned against Elena’s front door. At least I’m out of the rain. My entire body dripped of water, and I was so cold that my fingers were numb. “Aria!” I heard Elena yell. I looked to my left and saw her and Stefan in a black Ferrari. My car. “Elena!” I exclaimed, running to them and jumping inside the car. “God, I’m so glad you’re okay,” She sighed. “Stop talking and drive! Klaus might already know where I am!” I snapped. Stefan started the car and we went speeding down the road. After a couple of minutes we drove down an unfamiliar driveway. “Where are we?” I asked. “The Salvatore mansion,” Elena smirked. “Wow,” I said looking at the huge mansion coming into view. “This is your house?” I asked Stefan in amazement. “Yeah. But we’ve signed it over to Elena. That way no unwanted vampire can come into the house.” Stefan replied. “Smart thinking,” I smirked. I stared at the beautiful brown walls. It all looked so ancient and majestic. “Stop gawking at the house,” Damon said opening my door for me. “Since when did you become a gentlemen?” I asked him with raised eyebrows. “Well I thought that since the devil himself is in love with you, you wouldn’t need me being a jerk to you.” He smirked. “Very funny,” I snapped sarcastically. “No I’m serious. You need you be careful around him. Klaus is dangerous. He could kill you.” Damon said in a serious tone. “What did you spike him with?” I asked Stefan. “Very funny,” Damon glared at me. “I’m kidding. It’s really sweet that you’re worried about me. Now where’s that blood bank of yours? I’m starving.” I said elbowing him playfully. “Right this way, miss.” Damon said opening the door and leading me into the house. I stopped at the door. “Elena,” I smiled sheepishly at her. “Sorry,” Elena smiled.“Aria I invite-” “You really shouldn’t run away from me like that,” I heard a voice sneer behind me. I spun around quickly, dreading what I was about to see. Klaus stood directly behind me, not more than a centimeter apart, with a look of annoyance on his face. “Elena!” I shouted, but it was too late. Klaus grabbed my arm and, before I knew it, we were in his apartment again. He flung me across the room, onto the living room couch. I landed with a thump. I let my hair fall over my face, hiding me from him. “Now don’t do that.” He said tucking my hair behind my ear. I hissed, pulling away from him. “I know you’re mad at me for coming to get you, but you did run away.” Klaus snapped. I pulled my legs up onto the couch, and hugged my knees. This was a nightmare I couldn’t escape from. “Here,” Klaus said handing me a glass of red liquid. I sniffed the air, only to find out it was blood. My throat begged for the sweet liquid, but I wouldn’t give in. I would starve first. “Take it.” He ordered, shoving it into my hand. I let the glass fall to the floor, and watched it explode with tiny shards of crystal and blood splattering everywhere. Klaus sighed, walking into the kitchen to grab a cloth. He wiped up the mess, and handed me a new glass. “Drink.” He ordered. Instead of breaking the glass, I set it on the coffee table. I blinked, and Klaus was on top of me, pinning my to the couch. “Do you want me to force it down your throat?” He snapped. I glared at him, not responding. “Fine.” He snapped, grabbing the glass and gently pouring it over my mouth. Little droplets slid down my mouth and onto my neck. “Drink.” Klaus ordered again, forcing my mouth open. I gasped, and the blood flowed into my mouth. The taste was intoxicating, filling my body with energy. He tipped the last of the blood into my mouth, then climbed off me. I sat up slowly, wiping the blood off with the back of my hand. “Here,” He said grabbing the cloth and slowly dabbing my mouth. I turned my eyes downward so I didn’t have to look at him. Soon my face was entirely clean of blood, but I could still feel the pathway that the drops had run down my neck. Klaus leaned in closer, and bent his head. I was about to protest when I felt his cool tongue lick my neck. I pushed back onto the couch, putting as much space between us as I could manage. “You’re still mad at me,” Klaus sighed. He got off the couch, taking the glass to the kitchen. I sighed, knowing I wouldn’t get out of here any time soon. “Let’s put on some music, shall we?” Klaus asked, walking over to a very expensive stereo. He fiddled with some buttons, and after a couple of seconds ‘Walk Away’ by The Script started to play. “You listen to The Script?” I asked, unable to stop myself. “Most music these days are so fake. I like these guys because they really know what they’re singing.” Klaus explained. I didn’t admit it, but I agreed with him completely. The Script was my absolute favorite band. I sighed, letting Danny’s voice fill my ears. “I see you like them too,” I heard Klaus chuckle. He slid onto the couch next to me. “I’m not going to lie and say I hate them,” I smiled. “It’s good to know we have something in common again,” Klaus said. He stared at me for a moment and I saw his light blue eyes grow softer. And then I was staring at the Klaus I loved, the man who wasn’t a monster.
