The person who rushed out was William's sister, Tiffany Hayes.
Seeing Olivia radiate beauty and draw everyone's attention, she was insanely jealous.
This woman used to be so shabby when she was at their house. How could she afford such expensive clothes now and attend such an important banquet?
She was definitely putting on a brave face!
Tiffany stepped forward with disdain and mocked. "Where did you get the invitation? Did you steal it? You need real-name verification to get in here. Even if you did steal the invitation, you still wouldn't get in."
Seeing Olivia's silence, she felt more convinced of her guess and said loudly, "Did you know my brother was coming today, so you came here just to wait for him and beg him to remarry you?"
The more Tiffany spoke, the more she felt justified. "I'm telling you, Olivia, don't even think about it! If you want to remarry him, you might as well beg me first. Maybe I'll put in a good word for you. Although William still won't agree, at least he'd hear you out!"
Her voice was so loud that people around them gathered and started pointing fingers and whispering about Olivia.
William frowned and was about to intervene when he heard Olivia's cold voice.
"Oh, are you done?" Olivia lifted her chin, looking as proud as a noble princess.
She looked down at her and said, "If so, move aside. A good dog doesn't block the way."
Those few words were extremely insulting, and Tiffany immediately flared up. "Hold it right there! Who are you calling a dog?"
Olivia raised an eyebrow, her gaze casually sweeping across her face. "Whoever answered me, of course."
"How dare you!"
William couldn't help but smile when he heard Olivia's biting remark.
When she was being sharp-tongued to others, it actually sounded quite satisfying.
Olivia ignored Tiffany and walked straight to the entrance of the venue. The uniformed staff politely stopped her. "Miss, please show me your invitation."
Olivia took the invitation out of her purse and handed it to the staff.
Tiffany arrogantly said from behind, "Her invitation must be stolen. You need to check it properly. Don't let a beggar in!"
After carefully verifying it, the staff handed the invitation back to Olivia and bowed respectfully. "The invitation is valid. You and your companion may proceed."
Tiffany, with her sharp eyes, noticed that the invitation handed back by the staff was golden. She immediately started shouting, "Her invitation's color is wrong! All our invitations are black. Why is hers golden? Did you make a mistake?"
The staff's face turned cold as they heard her words. She was questioning their work.
"According to our professional and meticulous verification, this lady's invitation is indeed authentic and valid. It is one of the only two special invitations we have issued! She is our SVIP guest."
William silently clenched his fingers and concealed his own golden invitation.
He had the other one with him. If Olivia couldn't get in, he planned to use his golden invitation to take her inside. Now it seemed that he had worried for nothing.
However, he was also curious about how Olivia got a golden invitation.
Tiffany had an incredulous expression on her face. "A special invitation? For her? How is that possible?"
The staff said, "This invitation belongs to the spokesperson of our jewelry brand. She has the right to bring additional guests."
Only then did Tiffany notice the man beside Olivia. He had a sunny and handsome face, exuding the familiarity of the boy-next-door. He looked exactly like the person on the gigantic poster hanging in the hall.
"Ryan? You are Ryan?!" The look on Tiffany's face was nothing short of spectacular.
Ryan's face, usually adorned with a warm smile, was now filled with cold indifference. "Olivia is the one I intend to bring inside. Do you have any objections, young lady?"
Tiffany looked at Ryan, almost mad with jealousy.
Ryan was a national idol, the dream lover of thousands of girls, but now his eyes were filled only with Olivia, and he even spoke up for her.
But that was Olivia! How could she be worthy?
"Ryan, do you realize how scheming and materialistic the woman next to you is?
Everyone in Jychola knows she married my brother for our family's money!"
William frowned when he heard Tiffany's words. The way she spoke was truly unpleasant.
He frowned and sternly said, "That's enough, Tiffany!"
But Olivia didn't appreciate it. She stepped forward and spoke slowly.
"I did divorce your brother, but I didn't take a single penny from him. Seems like you don't get along well with him, huh? You didn't even know about this."
Olivia's deep blue eyes had a hint of coldness. Her voice wasn't loud, but it was clear enough for everyone around to hear her.
Whispers spread around, and Tiffany's face showed a bit of embarrassment.
Although she and William were born to the same parents, back when Rachel was young, she took a sum of money from the Hayes family and divorced William's father. Later, she had an affair with him and gave birth to Tiffany and Edison.
Everyone in the elite circles knew about this, and it was a hidden pain for Tiffany. But now, Olivia had mercilessly revealed it in public!
Tiffany looked at William, hoping he would say something for her, but William just stood there indifferently with no intention of defending her.
"When we got divorced, she indeed didn't take a penny."
He stared at Olivia with his brown eyes, trying to discern something from her expression.
Unfortunately, he couldn't see anything; she seemed to have completely moved on.
William's words indirectly confirmed what Olivia said. Tiffany felt humiliated in public and wished she could dig a hole and hide in it. She spun around and walked away.
Olivia watched Tiffany's hastily leaving figure as if she were watching a clown.
When she was staying with the Hayes family, Tiffany often bullied Olivia alongside Rachel, always looking down on her, thinking she wasn't good enough for William.
In the past, Olivia put up with it for William's sake, but now there was no way she'd let herself be bullied anymore!
Olivia pulled Ryan away as William watched behind them, his face darkening and his fingers clenching slightly.
It wasn't long after the divorce, and that woman was already living happily in another man's arms!
Where did that leave him, her ex-husband? With the thought of being an ex-husband, William's face grew even darker!
"William..." Grace leaned over, wanting to speak to him.
"I don't think we have anything to discuss alone."
After saying this, William ignored her and went away to mingle with his business partners.
