Chapter 5

1209 Words
I was following a woman and she's now heading to the woman's restroom. When I saw her enter the rest room I didn't hesitate to come after her, catching my sight of her watching her own reflection in the wide mirror. "You really think I don't know you've been tailing me the whole time huh?" she said to me directly. I didn't bother to answer even for once, instead, I gently took out a syringe containing my blood from the pocket of my leather jacket. "I wasn't supposed to eat right now because I'm not hungry...but it seems food is coming to me on its own." She laughed silly at her own words before finally baring his sharp fangs. Things happened swiftly and in a few seconds, she managed to pin me to the wall. But before she could get her fangs close to my neck, I quickly stabbed the syringe I was holding to her neck. "Die, b***h!" I whispered. 2 DAYS AGO "I will find them for you," I could feel the sincerity in every word he uttered. "H-how did you know that thing?! Did you take them?!" I asked him firmly, but he just lent me a smile before slowly shaking his head. "Let's just say I'm interested in you, so I did a little research on you." He stood up again without taking off the smile on his face. "If you think I'm going to believe your lies then you're wrong!" I answered him in a sharp tone. "I have no reason to lie," he replied calmly. "If you don't believe me there's nothing I can do about it, but if you ever change your mind just come see me in this place." He showed me a piece of paper with an address on it. He tried to give it to me but I didn't even bother to take it. Seconds later, I heard him sigh before leaving the piece of paper on Uncle Roman's corpse. A couple of days ago, I found myself walking down the hallway of the mansion while crumpling the paper with that vampire's address in my palm. "Follow me this way, Miss," said the woman in her 50s in a soft voice, she is now my guide to reach the location of the vampire I am looking for. I'm not sure if she's a vampire too or a mere mortal like me, however, I still have to be careful, especially with the people I meet. As I looked around I couldn't help but be astonished at the antiques and expensive items everywhere inside this mansion. It was also huge compared to Uncle's mansion to the point that I couldn't imagine how rich this vampire was. I wouldn't be surprised if he claims himself as a multi-billionaire immortal. "Lord Cairo, the guest you've been waiting for is here," I heard the woman say which caused me to focus my attention in front of us. "Thank you, Mildred. You can leave us now," replied the vampire I was looking for. The woman, on the other hand, didn't hesitate to immediately leave and follow his orders. "I know this day will come because I'm sure that you won't refuse my offer to you. After all, it's a win-win situation right?" he greeted me with his arrogant words. "You may have your seat, Miss Jade," he added. I let out a sigh and just ignored it because everything he said was right, "Is that woman a vampire like you?" I asked him before sitting on a broad and red sofa. "No, Mildred is a mere mortal like you," he said, before taking a last sip of wine from the wine glass he was holding. Seconds later, I just swallowed when I noticed that he wasn't actually drinking a red wine but fresh blood. "Do you want to taste it?" he asked me in a gentle voice as he caught me staring at the blood he was drinking. After that, I raised my eyebrows when I heard him laugh, "Don't worry, this isn't a human blo-." "I don't care if it's human blood or not," I interrupted while crossing my arms and leaning on the backrest of the couch. "What I want to know is if you're really sure you can find my parents?!" I asked him directly, but he just stared at me with narrow eyes. "Before I answer that, I want you to tell me how sure you are that your parents are still alive?" He immediately replied which silenced me for a while. I couldn't open my mouth to speak because I didn't know if my reasons would be enough for him. "Vampires took them fifteen years ago and now you still hope they're alive," he added. I clenched my fists when I saw him shake his head slowly. "I have a strong feeling that they are still alive! I can feel it here in my heart!" I exclaimed while holding my chest, causing me to see him smirk again. "In that case, do you want us to make a deal now?" he asked. Since the day I heard his offer to me, my conscience has not let me sleep. I waited fifteen years for the chance to see vampires like him to find my parents. Now that the opportunity I've been waiting for is here in front of me, I'm not going to miss it. "Fine, let's make a deal," I answered. "In my decade of staying here in your world, I have never met a mortal like you with such strange blood," he uttered. "If it wasn't for your blood I wouldn't make a deal with a mortal like you." He gulped down the fresh blood from the wine glass for the last time until there was nothing left. "Don't be so confident, Vampire," I said firmly. "If it wasn't for my parents, I would never come near you," I added. "Then let's end this conversation with a contract." With just a flick of his finger, a piece of paper and a feather pen appeared on the table. "I'll give you a chance to read the entire contract before you sign it." He blew on the paper so it gently flew into my lap. I was too stunned to say anything so I just chose to read what was in the contract. "This is an agreement between Prince Cairo Valentine and Jade Fonacier." My brows immediately knitted together because of what I read. "You are a prince?" I asked him without hesitation. "Just go on with your reading," he replied curtly as he got out of his seat and turned his back from me. "Whoever violates this agreement shall be punished by death." "Death?! What the hell is this huh?!" I yelled at him. "I'm just making sure that you won't violate our agreement," his tone showed sincerity. "Tsk, okay!" I just kept reading because I didn't plan to break our agreement since I was doing all this for my parents. After a while, my eyes widened in disbelief when I read the entire contents of the contract, "W-wait...in exchange for your help in finding my parents, you want me to help you hunt down and kill your own kind?!"
