Janet POV
I wake up my vision a but hazy as I try to comprehend where am I and why am I here
"Janet, Janet if you can hear me hold up one finger." a voice says sounding a bit distorted
I shakily held up one finger to make whoever it was aware I can hear them
"Okay good she can hear us, Elizabeth fetch her a cup of water." A distinctive male voice says since my hearing was slowly becoming more clearer and clearer
"Doctor can you tell me what happened to her?" Another male voice speaks
"Ah yes, sir these injuries appear to be ones made in a domestice violence situation." The other man said
"This woman has a fractured rib, a blood vessel in her right eye had exploded, a concusion, and if you look closely you can see indents in the back of her head we are convinced these indents were made within the moment she got the concusion." The man said
I slowly begin to open my eyes I released a loud groan as now I was beginning to feel al the pain twice
"Ahh Ms. Jackson I see you're coming to." The man says as I look at him
A white man who looks to be around 5'9 or 5'10
"I'm doctor Todd Roddrick I'll be looking over during you're stay." He says flashing me a smile
Just as he says that a lady who you can clearly tell is mixed comes back into the room with a small size cup
I quickly reach for it my throat dry and I'm parched
He hands it to me quickly and I wasted no time downing every drop of the cool soothing liquid
Water has never tasted this tantalizing before
"Please fetch her another cup." Mr. Roddrick requests
"Yes doctor." The young lady says making haste out of my hospital room as the doctor begins to take out his medical tools
"Alright Ms. Jackson I'm gonna ask you a few questions." Mr. Roddrick says and I nod cooperating
"Alright rate the pain on a scale of one to ten, one being that it is not that bad and ten being the worst pain you ever felt." He says
I instantly held up all ten fingers
He jots it down on the yellow notepad before pulling out the ophthalmoscope
"Alright Ms. Jackson please look directly forward for me." He instructs and I look at the door wanting to get the hell out of here
He shines the light into my right eye first examining it, his breath on my neck was very uncomfortable
"Just all in my personal space." I thought to myself annoyed and umcomfortable
"It appears I've made an error there are three exploded blood vessels." He muttered jotting it down in his notes, before he moves on to my left eye doing a thorough check of that one too
It last it for about five more until he was finally done checking my eyes
"Well Ms. Jackson your left eye appears to be fine, but your right eye is gonna need time I'm gonna prescribe you some dark lense glasses to avoid any kind of light shinning into your eyes okay?" He says and I nod
Seeing Chris was still here made me smile I slowly grabbed his hand and he smiles back at me
"And the police are here to speak with you since this is a clear case of domestic violence would you like for me to let them in?" Doctor Roddrick asks
"Yes you can let them in." Chris says and I sigh knowing how this is gonna go down
Just as the nurse came back in with three small cups of water Chris assists her and she flashes him a genuine smile
"Here you go ma'am if you need anything else please don't hesitate to push this button." The nurse says showing me which button to push if I need nurse assistance
"Well I'll be back in an hour or so to check up on you Ms. Jackson." Doctor Roddrick says and I nod and he makes his leave with the nurse behind him
