"s**t, s**t, s**t, s**t, SHIIIIIIT!" Angelina chanted while running as fast as she could down the streets of her neighborhood. "I'm so late. Oh my god, this is not good." She was now running so fast that the houses were unrecognizable, they were only colors just sweeping by in the corner of her eyes. Her neighborhood was a very safe and calm area, her mom and dad had moved there because of where the house was placed. They believed the city was too crowded, noisy and unsafe for them to stay in, even though it was the only place they knew they would never be found. "Ok, 15 minutes before the school bell goes off." She panted, not because she was tired. She would never get tired of running. It was the only time she felt truly like herself. She had never been able to run like this in the city, so she was more than happy when they finally moved again. "Just around this corner! AH!" Angelina had just run all the way from home, which was 30 minutes away from her school, in under 10 minutes. There was no doubt that she was truly fast as hell. "LOLA!" She screamed, seeing her standing in the doorway looking for her arrival. They had been close ever since Angelina first moved to the neighborhood. Already from the beginning they both knew that they would always want to be a part of each others life. The only thing is... Lola could never know what Angelina truly was... And it hurt her so much that she would have to lie to her best friend for the rest of their lives. "Gurl, where tha hell have you been? You're never this late for school. Did something happen?" Angelina paused for a second, wondering, thinking. What excuse could she use this time? Just thinking about lying to her best friend made the pit in her stomach grow. "Oh umm, I was... Doing homework!" "Homework? You always do it the night before and you never skip over any task before you're finished." "I realized that I misread one of the questions, so I rewrote the answer again." "Oh, what question was that?" She hated lying, she hated making up all of these stories all the time. One day it would all bite her in the ass, if her best friend ever figured out what she was, if her parents knew that someone knew our secret... They would not hesitate to kill Lola. I would rather keep it secret than risk her life... "Ugh s**t, I don't remember to be honest with you. I'll show you when we get to class." Angelina was late because she had not transformed back into her human form after being out all night, she had to go through this painful change from wolf to human. That was probably the worst start she had ever had to a school day. "Ughhhh, my back is KILLING me!" "Maybe because you sleep like a twisted troll when you go to bed, you know you do that, right?" Angelina looked at Lola with a deadly stare. "If looks could kill Angie, I would've been dead the day I was born." "What?!" "Huh, what did I say?" "You're really weird Lola, I love that." "Yes I know, If I wasn't weird no one would be here to balance your uptight ass." "Aaand moment ruined by the great Lola!" Lola chuckled. "It's a gift, truly." Both girls laughed as they went intothe school building. As the doors opened, a wall of noise, laughter and talking ringed through Angelina's ears. Jocks running after each other, smart- "Look Angie, it's Harry Potter and the Avadaka-nerd club!" "They're smart, not nerds! Plus, that was the worst Harry Potter joke I've ever heard." "Yea and smart people are nerds. You're the only nerd I can stand in this school." "Wooow, thank you Lola. How sweet of you!" "Anything for my BFF" Angelina gave a quick eye roll and started walking to her locker. As usual, she walked past the "nerds", cheerleaders, weebs, bookworms, emo's, popular kids, people wanting to be popular, gamers, musicians, copycats, tik tokers, trend followers, foodies, the actual normal people, Lola and mister bad boys. There were a lot more people in her school, but that was about as many as she could remember at the top of her head. Angelina couldn't stand the school delinquents. They were always breaking the rules and they never did any homework. Who doesn't want to do homework, like come on! Of course, they were always hanging out close by Angelina's locker, not because there were no other places to stand, but because they knew how much she couldn't stand them. They liked seeing her disgusted by only their presence, especially Ezio. "Lola, they're standing by my locker again!" "Oh mama, yes PLEASE let me have a taste of that!" "LOLA!" "WHAT!? They are so hot. How can you stay away from them and actually hate those spicy fried nuggets over there?" "Spicy fried nuggets... Yea, you need help Lola, like a lot of help." "Don't be jealous of my boogie." Angelina could't help but laugh at her comment. Lola always knew how to make her laugh. Angelina mustered up the courage to go to her locker. As she walked, the guys turned around to stare at her. She could feel their eyes trailing her every move towards the locker, it was such an annoying feeling. As she opened her locker she felt something grab hold of her waist, in a split second she had turned around and was now facing the devil himself. "Ezio! Let go of my waist!" "Now... Why would I let go of your delicate curvy waist, Angelina? It feels so nice in my hands." Angelina couldn't help but to look at his face. As annoying as he was, he was truly handsome. A pity, compared to his ass personality. His skin looked so smooth and flawless, she almost wanted to touch it, but always stopped herself. His hair was black, wavy and curly at the same time, short, but at the same time long. Mid-length would be the correct term. His eyes were such a dark brown that you could barely tell he had eye color at all. His nose was buttoned and small, and his lips... they were intoxicating to just look at. They were always in the shape of a smirk when he rested his face, and they were juicy, but not too big. And his smile... This man was flawless in every way possible. He had holes in his ears, two small circles on his earlobes. It took everything in her not to completely melt in his arms. She had to compose herself, because as hot as he was, she could not stand him at all. "Is there something on my face, doll?" He winked at her, leaning closer as if he was going to give her a kiss. She pushed his head back. "Ugh get off me Ezio, I'm not a toy for your amusement." He leaned in closer to her ear. "Whatever you say, but don't deny the s****l tension we share." He whispered, sending shivers down her spine. "I have pepper spray Ezio, and I'd rather use it on someone who is worth it." "You would never hurt me." "Oh yea? And why is that?" He leaned in closer, Angelina stood there frozen. "Because you like the way I make your blood boil, deny it as much as you want, but I can tell you like the attention you're getting." He smiled at her, then walked away. She was so full of rage she could practically hear her heart beating against her chest and the blood boiling in her veins. "Let's go boys, I think the doll wants some privacy." They all chuckled and left her locker. Lola sprinted over to her bestie so she could fill in the details. She never liked getting involved, because she would always forget that she was supposed to back her friend instead of checking the boys out. "What happened?!" "Ezio happened, that douche bag!" Why was Enzio always annoying her like that? What did he want from her? "UGH!" "You can't deny, he's got game. I mean the way he grabbed your wai-" "Can we just get to class?" Angelina hated that Lola was right, he did have a good game. Just not with her. "Yes, of course, let's go." Next time, Angelina would use pepper spray. She couldn't fall for the worst guy possible, she would never let that happen. She promised herself that much. CHAPTER END
