Living to love you

Lory was a mere thirteen years old when she first saw him. She remembers her mother LeAnn introducing him as dad's step nephew Sean. Although a handsome fellow with his blond hair and sky blue eyes Lory did not pay much attention as she was deeply in love with Xavier, the high school hunk with his velvet black hair, dark brown eyes and muscular body. Lory and Xavier were dating for just over a year now, and the teenage love bloomed. LeAnn did not like Xavier at all and always tried to cause trouble between Lory and Xavier. A week after Lory first saw Sean, her mother and father invited him over for dinner. Lory you know we invited Sean for dinner right? Yes mom, Lory answered in a low tone. Now Lory you need to make the salads it needs to be perfect. Mom I have homework with exams coming up I need to study. Not tonight! You can study over the weekend. Uncle James and aunt Gloria will also be here soon so hurry up now. Lory sighed, why can't my mother just let me be? And dad, why is dad not defending me? Sometimes I really wonder if I was adopted. Lory started cutting the tomatoes,all the while mumbling underneath her breath. I need to do everything around here cook, bath babies, make bottles, clean. What the hell is this so called mother of mine doing during the day? I want to go bike riding with Xavier this weekend now I can't cause I'll have to study. My mother is a real B***. Just then her dad Charles entered the kitchen. Lory don't talk like that about your mother. Yes dad,... That evening Lorys parents, Sean, James and Gloria had a drinking party and none even touched the salads she prepared. Lory stayed in her room for most of the night not wanting to be in adult conversation listening to their vulgar language. Lory was thinking: "one day I would leave this horrible house and become a well educated woman". " I will show them all I'm better than they want me to be". I'll marry Xavier we will have kids and a good life. Saturday morning Lory woke up, the house was quite. She went to the kitchen and felt like crying the place was a mess, plates on the table on the counter, forks and knives scattered everywhere. She started cleaning up gathering all the dishes. When she entered the lounge to her surprise she found Sean passed out on the couch. She tip toed to gather the glasses but bumped into the coffee table witch made the full stinking ashtray come crashing down. Sean woke from the ashtray falling. Good morning Lory please can I get a cup of coffee? Ouch my head hurts like hell! Morning uncle Sean, I'll make you a cup and bring you some aspirin. Thanks Lory but don't yah call me uncle. But you are about twenty three so more than ten years older than me, then I must say uncle remember respect. Yah Lory but if I say you don't need to say uncle it's ok. Ok then Sean let me get you that coffee. She turned and walked out of the dark lounge. Sean stared at her from behind. Charles was already sitting outside with his glass of Brandy and Coke as he always did when he didn't work. LeAnn was still in bed although awake she would stay there till Lory gave her coffee and breakfast. Lory! Lory! Lory! Where's my coffee? Coming mom. Lory took LeAnn some coffee and awaited her breakfast order. Lory I want toast with maple syrup and please spread the butter while the toast is hot. And make it snappy I need to take my blood pressure medication. The whole Saturday Lory spend running after everyone's needs. Lory make us coffee, Lory make sandwiches, Lory the babies need to bath, Lory go to the shops and buy us cool drink. Sunday was no different except uncle James car broke down and he needed to get back to St Lucia to work on Monday so Sean volunteered to take them home. Lory I need you to go with Sean so that he will not have to drive that long road alone when coming back tonight. But mom I have school tomorrow....Lory no more excuses you can stay home tomorrow. The drive to St Lucia was a long one as Lory sat in the back with aunt Gloria, she could feel Sean looking at her in the rearview mirror. Lory felt uncomfortable and was all of a sudden scared. Now what did my mother have in mind this time? Sean stopped at uncle James and aunt Gloria home, they invited us in for coffee but Sean declined saying we need to go home and it's a long way back. The drive home was a nerve wrecking one as Lory was sitting next to Sean. So Lory you are still in school? Yes I am in high school. School is such a waist of time. No not at all Sean I actually enjoy it. Although I battle with maths. Sean kept trying to make conversation he played this weird music that Lory didn't know at all everything had beat. Lory started liking the music and even attempted to sing along. At home LeAnn was waiting in the lounge, Charles was drunk and passed out and the babies was asleep. Lory went for a bath, brushed her long hazelnut hair and teeth. When entering the lounge LeAnn and Sean looked somewhat off but Lory could not place her finger on it. Good night mom she bend over and kissed LeAnn good night. As Lory was heading out the door LeAnn said; and what about Sean? Oh goodnight Sean. No Lory kiss him goodnight to. Lory walked back and gave Sean a peck on the mouth but he held her and gave her a deep kiss. Lory was confused she ran out the room to her bedroom hearing her mother's laughter. Lory was innocent in heart and mind never been kissed like that before and she wondered what Sean's motives were. Why didn't my mother stand up for me? What type of mother would allow a grown man to kiss her teenage daughter like that? Lory fell asleep but was very restless all night, she could not settle down. Sean sat in the lounge talking to LeAnn about Lory. You know LeAnn I really like Lory and if dating her means I can be close to you I will do that, I cant imagine not seeing you every now and then. Sean, Lory is my eldest daughter and I love her but I love you to. I know you will look after her and that way its a win win situation. Charles wont know anything is going on between us and Lory is young and naive so she wont think twice either. I will talk to her in the morning and set you up, Lory needs to dump that wimp Xavier. LeAnn and Sean spend the night in the lounge talking and even stole a few kisses.
