'Feelings', are they reliable? In particular, the ones that tell you to do something from the heart, covering up all the natural survival instincts given by the brain, cannot be trusted easily. Feelings have their own pathway to deceive us. Sometimes, we regret our choices more than anything, after being a slave to those desires and delusions. 'Love, regret, hatred, expectations' aren't they all facets of the same dice, which were chosen according to the situation and mood?
The human body is an amazing creature. Not even a single person in this world has been able to fully discover the truth behind the emergence and survival of these feelings from the body. How are these feelings connected to these four limbs and organs? But, isn't it amazing!!! These human beings are using all these visible and palpable features to complete some weird actions, which were ordered by concealed feelings.
According to the given situation, no one would ever open the door, just after hearing his or her name only. What actually went through his head? Did he just want to have a thriller movie, after opening the door to a stranger? Or was he feeling alone and wanting to have some company?
He couldn't be weirder than that. After hearing his name along with the knock, a lot of things ran here and there inside his head.
"This might be someone I know. I should open the door. Someone is expecting my help. Rather than anything, I am curious to see the person who is telling my name. I thought no one knew my name other than my family in this neighborhood. Why shouldn't I open the door and see? I am not a baby.... I am an adult. I can do this much."
Knocking was vigorous. The person who is standing outside the door might be in a hustle. With the least consciousness of his mind, he requested clarification.
"Who is out there? Who are you? What do you want?"
As expected, there was no reply, but the knock was much stronger and more rapid this time around. Feelings tend to go wild when we turn off our brains. Driven by insatiable curiosity, he ended up opening the door as a fool, without even knowing who was out there.
What did he expect after opening the door? A nice surprise might be, or someone to talk about his whereabouts. When comparing the strength of the knock, he expected a strong person outside the door, but what could he see? A fragile girl in her late teens was there, staring directly into Nick's soul with a bunch of emotions collected in her eyes.
He wanted to say hundreds of things, and wanted to ask millions of questions from her. Yet all he did was meet her gaze, mirroring the intensity she projected back at him. Was he timid? Or did he try to understand the situation just by looking at her?
He should have observed the environment. He should have looked around to see the change in the atmosphere. But all he did was think about the sorrow and pain that accumulated in her eyes. He tried to search for the origins of her emotions through his stare at her.
"Will she be able to answer my questions? Should I ask them or not? She is in a pain. I can read that much through her eyes."
With all the silent thinking, he should have at least asked who she was. But he did not want to shatter the silence, which felt like a thick ice wall. But the surroundings painted a different picture. Do feelings have this much power to seize the human brain and shut down their cognitive functions?
There was not even a single living being out there other than him and her. Vehicle sounds, screeching of birds or any sound did not overpower the deadly silence of the environment. It was normal for him not to notice any of these things. Since the warm and lingering gaze he shared with her was full of emotions and thousands of feelings, that time and space slipped away from his mind.
The novelty and beauty of the stare increased at every second, that he almost forgot the sorrowful look in her eyes, which was there in the beginning. It looked like she was healing just by this tender gaze of him. He thought the feelings toward her were the hidden healer who was doing this enchantment.
At that moment, he gathered all his emotions and yearned to feel the texture and contours of her face. Without realizing it, he had already raised his hand to caress her face, driven by an instinctive impulse. She knew his thoughts, but did not try to escape his gaze or the touch. But she moved with a swiftness that outpaced him. She wrapped her hands around him, pouring all her feelings and warmth into that firm embrace.
He couldn't believe what he was doing for a moment, holding her in his hands. Because he did not know when he returned her embrace and why. But he could feel the pounds of her heart, and it made him want to hold her more tightly than before. Neither of them wanted to let go, as they might never reach each other again.
Suddenly, he started to see the alteration in the environment above her head. Everything was obscure, and he tried to understand why it was like that. Yet, he could feel her embrace, but suddenly he started hearing another distinct sound which he could not clarify exactly. It was too unclear to guess what it was, and he did not want to pay attention to that. Because at that moment, his priority was this girl, who he was sharing a warm hug.
The distinct sound got cleared and reached his ear drum as someone's voice. He understood it was someone he knew, but he couldn't tell exactly. He attempted to direct his head toward the side which the sound was coming from. With his slight motion, it seemed as though she sensed the tilt of his head, despite not looking at him.
She pushed him away, causing him to fall to the ground, unable to grasp onto anything for support!!!!
