17. Forest Play

Lucas POV:

Lily was different, she was unlike anyone I have ever met in my life, I knew when I kissed her that I would do anything to have her in my life. It wasn’t a case of wanting her it was a case of needing her. Steelix was going crazy every time we touched, he wanted her to play with him and see him for who he really was, at the end of the day he was trying to impress her since he was a little pup at heart.

In a split-second Lily could go from a vicious murderer to someone who could break down and needed someone to rely on. The phone call from Poppy snapped her out of whatever she was feeling for me in the kitchen. Her head was back in the zone and we had to drive all the way back to New Orleans. Poppy didn’t say what it was but it couldn’t have been good. I stopped off at a nearby store by the highway and Lily stayed in the car. When I got back she was sitting in the driver’s seat waiting for me.

“Ummmmm what’s this?” I asked.

“You let me rest when we were driving to Black Moon Pack so now I’m returning the favour”

I didn’t want to argue with her, she had her eyes on the prize and she wasn’t going to stop, I got in the car watched her for the next few hours. Steelix was a strong wolf and didn’t need to sleep that much.

My mind kept wondering off to my future pack, I need to find a Luna. She had to be strong and she had to be respected by my Pack. Lily wasn’t a wolf and I knew that Marble would be seen as a weaker Pack if it was going to be associated with mine. But at least I would have one, Kilian hasn’t even found his yet.

It can’t be Lily. Steelix was my conscience but maybe I could follow Black Moon and have a chosen mate instead.

“Lily are you okay?” I tried to reach for her hand but she moved it away. She changed again, she was not the person who was kissing me in the kitchen.

“Yeah” it was all she said . She must have been feeling the same dread that I was feeling, a feeling of impending doom.

Lily drove all night and no amount of persuading and pleading changed her mind, she was getting to Marble no matter what. When we pulled up to the Marble I realised that all the soldiers must be training but the guards were still on their posts.

“Where is everyone?” I heard her whisper.

I heard a commotion near the ring but I knew that Lily could not hear it as it was far away.

“This way” I started to walk in front of her as I knew she would only have a go at me if I walked beside her in front of her sisters. As we approached the ring I noticed my brother fighting someone, it didn’t look pleasant if anything it looked like he was going to die.

Lily ran up to Poppy who was standing on the side-lines, Fury wasn’t being herself, the hits that she was giving out weren’t ones that you would use in training she was in this fight to kill my brother.

As the Daughter’s began to cheer at Fury I realised what this was … a challenge. If Fury was going to lose she would have to marry my brother, a human marrying a wolf. I didn’t even concentrate on what happening in front of me I looked directly at Lily was looked concerned for Fury. I could have Lily if Kilian was going to defeat Fury, there would be nothing stopping me form making Lily mine.

The fight got more intense as I saw tears running down Fury’s face, in an instant Kilian grabbed Fury’s neck in a chokehold and held it tighter, as Fury started to lose her conscience it was clear… she had lost.

“WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?” Poppy ran up to Fury and cradled her in her arms. Fury was no longer a Daughter of the Order; she had been defeated.   Kilian didn’t bother to answer her, he started to pick her up and I saw the look her gave her. He actually cared for this girl; I never saw my brother look at anyone like that.

“I am taking my BRIDE to the infirmary to have her checked over… have you got a problem with that ?” with that he walked out leaving everyone shell shocked. 

As the room dispersed I saw some Daughters crying in the corner, Fury was their leader and now when they needed her the most she was lost.

“Where is she?” Steelix noticed that Lily was missing. I walked all around the Estate but I couldn’t find her. I was worried she went back to the Order but her car was still here and so was Reya. When I went back to my car I realised that her bow and arrows were missing.

“FOREST!” He was right she went to practice her shooting.

I walked for over an hour until I heard an arrow being strung behind me. When I turned around I saw Lily standing only a meter away from me. I didn’t even hear her approach me, Steelix must have got comfortable around her and didn’t even pick up her scent. Her hands were steady but I saw the anger in her eyes.

“Lily put the bow down” I said quietly.

“You,..” her voice was nothing more than I whisper. “You took everything from me” she pulled the arrow closer to her chest and the string got tighter, she was ready to fire it at any moment. “You took my family and now you took my sister” I could see how broken she had become. I knew there was no getting out of this situation.

I had to use my wolf speed and I swiped her feet underneath her, as Lily fell to the floor I saw her pulling the blade that was attached to her thigh. The smell of wolfsbane filled my nose, we started circling each other, waiting for the other to start the fight.

“I came out here to look for you, I care about you Lily can’; you see that?” Lily ran up to me and jumped in the air delivering a kick to my side.

“YOU ARE A WOLF!”

“I KNOW I AM!”

“AAAAAAAAGHHHH” she lounged at me and as I tried to restrain her I felt a sharp pain in my ribs, the wolfsbane spread through my body and I heard Steelix whimpering in pain. I couldn’t bring him out now, I made an Oath never to hurt her and I could not live with myself if I did.

Blow after blow hit my face and body but I stood my ground, I dodged a few punches and caught another. She could tell that I wasn’t going to give up. I knew that if I fought with her the wolfsbane would only slow me down but it would spread around my body faster.

“Lily stop!” I caught her punch and spun her around so her back was against me . She tried to get out of my arms but I needed to feel her close. Her smell was overpowering but I felt her body trembling next to mine. “Drop your guard!” I lowered my lips just above her ear. “Drop it” I whispered.

Her body became relaxed but I could feel her heart thumping. She would kill anyone who stood in front of her, I needed her to calm down further.

“I’m sorry about Fury I really am. I don’t know why my brother did that. It wasn’t our intention to take her away for you. She is the strongest fighter I have ever seen, she wears the name Fury for a reason, just think about it. Fury has a plan that’s why we needed to come back”. Her body became limp  and she started to fall to the ground. I held her weak body in my arms as she began to cry. “Hey, hey listen. I’m here for you. I’m right here and I’m not leaving.” I sat in front of  her and cupped her face in my hand.

“But I am” she said quietly.

I didn’t realise until then, she still worked for the Elders and the Order when and if we won the war she would go back. She wasn’t defeated and seeing her reaction after Fury’s defeat I wasn’t going to challenge her now. The idea of her not being mine angered me, it fuelled me to kill every single one of those fuckers. 

“You’re not leaving Lily… I’m not going to let you” I crashed my lips against hers. I felt the shock she was in but I needed to show her that I was serious. I put my other hand on her waist and pushed her back onto the ground, never breaking our kiss. To my surprise she didn’t fight me, she wanted this as much as I did. I couldn’t control my hands they scanned her body like she was a life raft. Our legs intertwined and I could feel myself getting hard in between her legs. She let out a small moan which sent me into a frenzy, I need to hear her moan louder, to scream my name.

Suddenly a scent of raspberries filled my nose, it was so near to me and I realised it wasn’t a scent of my mate, it was the scent of Lily getting wet for me. I could imagine her taste in my mouth. I was ready to f**k her on the forest ground. I moved my mouth to her neck and started biting it softly , if she was a wolf I would have marked her there. 

“Lucas” she moaned.

The sound of my name on her lips made me even harder I pushed my body against her and she let out another moan.

“Lucas you need to stop”

Her body deceived her as I felt her hands on my hips pulling me closer.

“You don’t mean that babe” I moved my hand down her body until I reached her pulsating p***y. I cupped it in my hand and I felt her body respond to me. “Stop fighting it”. I couldn’t concentrate on anything expect for the scent of raspberries. My other hand curled around on her breast and her back arched forward.

“Okay stop” she lifted her feet and kicked me off of her. I stood up and held my hand out for her. “What was that?” she said getting up.

I pulled her into my arms and I could feel my hard c**k against her torso. “That was the effect you have on me and it’s driving me insane” I placed another kiss on her lips but this time she moved back.

“Lucas You can’t do that you’re a ..”

“Wolf?” I interrupted her. “Yeah I think we covered that before”.

“A man. You’re a man Lucas and I’m still a Daughter. I don’t want to think about what could have happened if we didn’t stop” she picked up her bow and arrow and started to walk off.

“You may not what to think but you already are” I laughed behind her.

“Stop it!” she shouted back.

“Come on Lily you can’t tell me you didn’t enjoy that” I ran in front of her and stopped her in her tracks.

“I didn’t”.

“You’re an amazing shooter but a terrible liar.” I leaned in closer to her ear and whispered. “And I know you’re body enjoyed it” I gave her a small grin and leaned away.

“Urghhh I hate you” she shoved past me.

“No you don’t Lily.”

“Oh really?”

“Yeah really and you know what else?”

“WHAT!?”

“You want me here. Your sisters didn’t worry about you when you went missing I came to look for you. They saw you and didn’t even bother to say hi. You went away with a man for two days and they didn’t even ask how that went. Poppy called you and expected you back ASAP and didn’t even bother to find you. Everyone knows how much you hate wolves and no one checked up on you expect for me. I am here for you Lily and you know that deep down!”

“WE JUST LOST A SISTER YOU EGOTISTICAL PRICK!”

“Oh, I’m the one who is egotistical? You were spiked in the club and still said you didn’t need help. You hate wolves so much that you won’t even shake their hand. There are other Daughters in this world Lily you don’t need to fight on your own.”

“Leave me alone” she carried on walking and I knew that arguing with her was futile.

Urghhh she was annoying! Yet she would never leave my mind.
