Next day at school everything started normal.
The first group of classes went by and soon we heard the recess bell ringing, that means we have thirty minutes of unleashed chat among us girls.
At the recess as soon as we got into the third section backyard something different popped into my sight of him.
Today, my cousins are with him now, all around Andrew, plus Larry is on a side but not next to him as usual, to be honest that is weird, they were peanut butter and jelly so far, all day, every day, but today Larry is on a side away from him.
Larry saw me and gave me a huge smile that I returned with one of mine and waved at him happily.
He winked and started walking towards me.
I pointed to the wall next to the bench and he nodded as I kept walking ahead of him and him following me.
I felt observed and when I looked back Andrew was watching us with a weird frown.
The ladies sat on the bench, and I walked around to talk to Larry, they got it and nodded in approval.
“Hey, you, how’s your day going?”
He started talking when he was in a hearing range with me.
I smiled and answered him “not bad and what about yours?”
He looked at me and for a moment lifted his eyes, like thinking, and then looking at me replied “to be honest a bit weird”
“How so?” I asked intrigued
“Did you notice something?”
“Huh it is so obvious, are you two mad at each other?” I asked looking at Andrew, who was staring at us, and then back at him
“I thought everything was normal but today we just started acting super serious and now he is besties with Ralph and Leo”
“Ha, that’s funny, last night they came over to my house, with Alex, do you know my other cousin?”
He opened his eyes wide and looked exorbitantly amazed “Is Alex your cousin?”
I nodded yes “and Ralph and Leo too, oh and Claire”
He lifted his head like looking to the sky while sarcastically laughing “Wow now it makes sense”
“What makes sense?” I asked
“Him being closer than usual to your cousins, he is looking for a solution”
“Ufff explain it properly, I need to ask you every time you say something, what solution, a solution for what?” I reprimanded him.
“He knew he f ucked it really bad when you found him, no, when he found you with your cousin, Claire, he didn’t know you knew her and not to say that you two were related”
“Aha and”
“And he is now looking, apparently, for a solution, how to fix the f ucked up that he did, trying to get back at you”
“Why would he try to fix that? Or what exactly he thinks he needs to fix?”
“I don’t know, but you tell me after I tell you this if I am correctly understanding everything, I think you like him and obviously he likes you and you felt disappointed in him, is that accurate?”
“I don’t know, maybeeeeee” I wink at him while smirking
“Hahahaha you are really something my friend”
“Oh, one thing I need to ask from you”
“Whatever you need, I am at your service my lady” and he winked, then smiled, he is such a charmer, and a flirting pro may I say.
“Last night he stood there super silent not even looking at me, but Ralph and Alex talked bad about Claire and talked good about me, honestly it felt weird and fake, I even asked them why they were trashing our cousin”
He showed surprise on his handsome face and then “You think they rehearse it or that Andrew asked them”
“It crossed my mind, and apparently yours too, so I am not being paranoid here, do I?”
“And what were you going to ask me Vane?”
“Not now or not tomorrow because it will be beyond obvious, but to check with him, I want to know that.”
“I got this, don’t worry”
“Another thing is, I don’t know if my cousins know something or if Andrew is taking advantage of them, but whatever”
“Like right now?”
I looked back and Ralph pointed his index and middle finger at his own eyes then pointed at Larry, to then mutter ‘what’s up?’
I nodded no at Ralph and smiled at him, then looked back at Larry
“Don’t look at them but Ralph just ‘asked me’ if you are bothering me” and I quoted the asked me
“What? Seriously?”
“Don’t look, yesterday before they leave Ralph told me if anyone here was bothering me, that I just tell him and he will fix the problem, as I told you, last night conversation was weird, like I know them all my life, we have been in their houses lots of times, but they never came at me offering to take care of me”
“Well maybe because now you are here” he has a point.
“So?” I asked
“Ufff Vane, do you honestly don’t look around?”
“Jajajaja what do you want me to look at?”
“Oh lord, you woman, you are incredible, not now, all the time, every time you walk around, I have spotted lots of guys looking at you like hungry predators, you honestly are one if not the most beautiful girl here, in this whole damn school”
I felt my face hot and nodded no at him.
“And you are so cute and modest may I add, you are the whole package, that is why Andrew will try it until he gets it”
I breathed deeply trying to flush away the blush on my cheeks “to get what?”
“YOU” he answered effusively.
“Me? I am not a thing, I am not an ‘It’, you know”
“By get it, I meant to be your boyfriend Vane” he shocked me with that last phrase
I went silent, I couldn’t believe Andrew wants to be my boyfriend, why would he want to be?
“I will tell you this again, I don’t think he wants to be my boyfriend Larry”
“Mmmmmmm you seriously don’t believe me? He told me, hey he even threatened me, hahahaha”
“What? Why?”
“After we shared our punishment the other week and I started waving at you and talking to you, he told me to stop it or else”
“Or else what?”
“Huh interested? He didn’t say but now you believe me when I say he is trying to get closer to you, may I ask you something?”
I accepted his request nodding
“Do you want him to be your boyfriend?”
“I don’t know Larry; I don’t think so”
He froze and looked at me with his beautiful greenish transparent eyes wide open and before asking me the bell rang.
“Hey no wait Vane”
I laughed and then added “I got to go”
“No wait, tell me why?”
“Walk me to the passage and maybe tomorrow I will consider telling you” I winked at him, and he just nodded no at me but started walking by my side.
