I’ve spent the last ten years searching, listening, waiting, but I never found her. Not even a glimpse of the little girl that brought my life so much joy. My wife and I knew after she was taken, that any of the enemies we’d made over the years could’ve been responsible, yet, we tried to remain hopeful. Ten years of nail biting, of tearing down every family that stood in our way. Yet, we haven’t found her, our daughter Imogen. Our green eyed, fiery haired little girl, taken, to who knows where, by who knows who. Ten years since I’d seen her freckled face. Ten years since I’d heard her loud, hardy laugh. Ten years since I’ve slept peacefully, since I’ve been able to forgive myself for not paying enough attention. It was my fault that she was taken, I took her to the park, and turned away for just a minute to take a phone call with one of our shipping partners. When I turned back, Imogen.. was gone. Our sons Finn, and Rory, the twins were only 15, and Liam was 17, their sister Delaney was only 12. Imogen our youngest was a mere 10 years old, she’d be 20 now. If she was still alive out there.. no, I couldn’t let myself feel this way. She was out there, our little girl, all alone, and I knew without a shadow of a doubt that we’d find her.

{Imogen’s POV} As my eyes fluttered open, I couldn’t help but take in the sights around me. Bright sunlight beamed in through the stained glass window, a beautiful pink, and purple sunrise painted the sky. I walked to the doors of my bedroom and threw them open, wind danced across the pond outside, causing rippling waves to form. The willow tree that hung down, sweeping its branches along the side of it caught my attention. As two squirrels scurried under its branches. I smiled as two cardinals landed on the birdbath beside me, splashing me with water. The cold chill causing my body to jerk. Then the facade was gone, the daylight was turned into darkness, and the outside world was nothing more than just a fantasy. I looked around my room, the one I’d been in for so many years now that I’ve lost count. I stopped even trying to track the days after five years, four months, and 14 days. I couldn’t keep my faith in a savior, I knew no one was coming to rescue me. I stood carefully, the chains around my wrists and ankles clanking with every movement. My wrists were bound to the wall, with long chains that let me move around the room. While my legs were chained down to the center of the room, keeping my movements restricted, but allowing me to roam. This cage I was in, was dark, and damp, the smell of mildew and mold invaded my nose. The walls were covered in soundproof, soft material, my mattress was on the floor, that way they could make sure I couldn’t hurt myself. There was a toilet, and a sink, but that was all. Within these four walls the only thing I know are my chains, my mattress, the bathroom, pale skin, and my wild, long, wavy red hair. I don’t even know what I look like, what color my eyes are, how my face looks. I can’t remember much before I ended up here, bits and pieces of a family.. one I used to hope would come save me. After a few years, I forgot their names, their faces.. and eventually even my own face became a mystery to me. I still don’t understand how I got here, or why.. but the years of torment by the Italian men that visited my room was enough torture for one lifetime. They used to ask me questions about someone named Teagan.. claiming that he’s my father, or so they’ve said. Though, even if I did know something when I first got here, those memories have left me long, long ago. {Teagan’s POV} I’ve spent the last ten years searching, listening, waiting, but I never found her. Not even a glimpse of the little girl that brought my life so much joy. My wife and I knew after she was taken, that any of the enemies we’d made over the years could’ve been responsible, yet, we tried to remain hopeful. I’ve sent out every search party, every reach we had on any and every continent has been used. Nothing.. nothing but dead silence, until today. My daughter Delaney ran into my office, her hair wasn’t as bright as Imogen’s, it was a deep auburn color. Her eyes were blue, pale blue, like mine. I wonder if Imogen would look like her.. or if she’d look more like her flaming red haired mother. I sighed, looking over to her, and noticed that tears were spilling down her cheeks. I stood quickly, my chair scooting back, as I rushed around my desk. “Delaney, what’s wrong?” I asked, making it to her side quickly. I grabbed her shoulders softly, holding her steady. Her hands were trembling, as she held out a letter, I tore it from her hands and opened it. Finding a lock of dirty, fire red hair, and a note. “Ten years with one play thing.. ten years with the next, we’re coming.” I stared down at the pages, noticing that there was something written under years.. like they spelled it wrong. I looked, scanning over each erased letter, before seeing the Italian word for years, “anni.” There’s no way, it couldn’t be, the Italian’s.. they were behind this. Which group, there were two.. the De Luca’s, and the Costa’s.. there’s no way it’s the De Luca’s.. they’ve been so helpful, offering to let my best capo’s to stay in their territory, free of charge, for as long as they needed. They’ve searched that entire area.. hundreds of times. That only leaves the Costa’s.. it has to be them.. it’s the only thing that makes any sense. They’ve been more guarded of their territory, which isn’t unusual for them, not unusual for any of us truthfully. My friendship with Lorenzo De Luca is the only reason my family and my underlings have gotten a pass into his territory. Now at least I had a lead, the only issue is, their territory is locked down tight, not easy to get into. I’d have to send the best of the best, and make sure there are no errors, which means, I’ll have to go.
