Savion and Armarria walked into the house early the next morning. Sara quickly ran to the door to greet them.
“Savion!” She jumped into his arms and touched his cheek, beginning to heal him.
“I am fine Sara nothing to worry about.” Jet walked up then. “Ooh, can we see your cut?” He asked with an excited look on his face.
“Jet.” Shadow walked into the room with an angry look upon his face. “Do not play around with our brother’s injury.”
Savion kissed Sara on the cheek and placed her down, patting Jet’s head. “No need to worry them. I told you over the phone I am fine.”
Melody ran up to hug him anyway. “We were worried.” She said.
Armarria looked up at David standing in the doorway. “I took good care of him, you guys. I promise.” Armarria winked at Savion as she walked off to her room.
“Armarria wait?” He called out to her but she continued walking to her room. Shadow stood with his arms crossed in front of him. Savion knew his brother was pissed he allowed himself to get hurt. The almost dying part didn’t help his case either.
“We have the pictures. I want you to start tracking them right away David using your facial recognition program.” He pulled the pictures from his bag.
Shadow snatched them away, scanning through them. He paused at one picture. Savion leaned over to see who he recognized. It was the woman Armarria called Sephora. “I saw her in Vegas.”
Savion crossed his arms. “I see that as convenient. You need to go get her.” He grabbed the pictures out of his hand.
“David needs to start tracking them.” Shadow released the pictures with hesitation. “She is a very beautiful woman.” Savion teased, elbowing Shadow playfully as he walked by him.
He walked with David to his room. “You know it could take me days to track down one person without the Cloak knowing what I’m up to.” David reminded Savion as they walked to his room.
“I know,” Savion replied, flipping through the pictures.
They walked into David’s room which doubled as his computer lab. He grabbed the pictures looking through them. His eyes had a lightning bolt inside of them as he saw a little pixie girl in the photo who looked around fourteen at the time. Without knowing what was happening David covered his eyes and fell back on the floor surprised by the feeling.
“What the hell was that?” He panicked.
Savion only laughed. “Find this girl first David. I think it will be in your best interest.”
He helped him off the floor, patting his back as he left the room. “Wait, Savion,” David called out to him for answers but Savion continued to laugh and walk away.
Armarria paced the floor knowing what had to be done but not really sure how to break it down to Savion.
“You saw them?”
Her head jerked up. At first, she thought it was Savion, but then she saw the darkness in his eyes and the grim look on his face.
“Shadow. You scared me.”
“Did you see them?”
She rubbed her arms as if cold. “You mean the Cloak?”
“Your bastard brother and father. I will kill that fucker for stabbing Savion.”
She looked away. “Well, you will have to get in line.”
Shadow crossed his arms. “You are thinking of going after them alone. My brother will kill you for sure.”
She sighed. “I already know it. He will understand.”
“I will understand what?” Savion walked in causing a slight tension.
No one spoke. Savion looked to Armarria for an explanation. He could feel her guilt and determination for whatever she and Shadow was planning behind his back.
“Your woman wants to go find her brother and father on her own.” Savion’s face turned upside down.
“Armarria they will kill you if you go alone.” He went to her to grab her arms to maybe shake some sense into her. “You cannot fight them alone.”
Armarria saw the plea in his eyes and the worry in his heart. “Let her go Savion. They almost killed you. There is no way you can fight anyone now.”
Savion turned violently towards Shadow. “You want to bet.” He said through gritted teeth, his eyes turning red.
Shadow never moved from his spot. “I am not your enemy Savion, but if I have to kick your ass to knock some sense into you I will gladly do so.”
Savion ran full speed towards Shadow knocking him through the wall. Armarria gasped. “Guys stop it! Savion!” She screamed, but the men were not listening.
Shadow kicked Savion away from him. “She is right Shadow. You tore up the wall.” Savion replied wiping his mouth.
Shadow smirked. “I will catch you outside then.”
With fast movements, they were gone out the back door to the backyard. Before Armarria could run out to them she walked by Melody.
“Are Savion and Shadow fighting again?” She shook her head taking her juice to her room.
Armarria looked out the door not seeing anyone until Shadow ground slid toward the porch. Savion jumped on top of him with a fierce punch to his face. Shadow tilted his head dodging the punch, then head-butted Savion causing him to fall backward.
“You are a hard headed son of a b***h,” Savion growled, kicking Shadow in his chest.
Shadow used all his might to hold on to Savion’s leg, lifting him and throwing him in the air. Thankfully Savion wasn’t using his strength to hurt Shadow so Armarria wasn’t as worried now.
“Guys we really don’t have time for this. I’m going to fight them Savion. I’m sorry. I can’t let them hurt anyone else I love and that means everyone in this house. It’s my fault you were stabbed and almost died…I just want to make things right.”
Savion looked over at her as her voice broke while holding Shadow’s collar of his shirt “Armarria…” He began to speak until Shadow punched him in the face.
“Listen to the woman Savion. For once I agree with her. She is the only one that can fix this. As much as you try to hide it that cut still has not healed completely.”
Savion cursed under his breath. They were right. That poison took more out of him then he liked to admit. “If we go do this we go together. I refuse to leave you Armarria.”
He walked up to her. “You are the light to my soul. I cannot bear the darkness again.” He rubbed her cheek, wiping her tears. “We go together.” He concluded.
Shadow huffed, annoyed at their public display of affection. “God, you guys sicken me.” He teased dusting himself off.
“Curse the day you ever fall in love Shadow. You will never hear the end of it from me.” Savion teased back.
Armarria laughed at them. “Shadow falling in love. That will be the day hell freezes over.” She included after Savion.
Shadow bumped into Savion while walking into the house, spitefully. “We need a battle plan.” He called out.
Savion smiled at Armarria. “He is such a drama queen.” Armarria laughed again, kissing Savion as she did.
They walked into the dining room together where it seemed they have all the family meetings. Armarria looked at all the children and became determined more than ever to protect them.
“We should start with their location. When you were there with them did you notice anything else besides a symbol?” Shadow, of course, started the meeting. Armarria tried to remember the surroundings. Her head began to spin as she looked around the room of her memories to see the dark church like the place.
“The Cloak members were sitting in a dining room or at least what looked like one. It was a long old table.” She closed her eyes and focused back to that dreadful place. “They were drinking something in a symbolic like cup.”
“It sounds like a ritual of some sort. We have seen them drink blood out of these handmade carved cups before back at the lab.” Savion chimed in looking toward Shadow.
“What were they doing the ritual for back then?” David asked a bit spooked out.
Shadow and Savion looked down not wanting to relive the horrors. “They used these rituals for different things, mostly bringing bodies back from the dead…”
Savion continued to explain after Shadow. “Or to increase their powers. The Cloak members are older versions of the G.E.M program. Maybe they need to repower themselves every so often.”
“Like vampires? That’s gross.” Melody covered her mouth. “Whose blood would they use to power themselves?”
Savion and Shadow looked fearful at each other. They knew the answer but didn’t want to say. “It’s the people they experiment on isn’t it?” Armarria said the words, grossed out by the thought.
“It will be hard to figure out their location from what you saw alone. Taking out the Cloak members all at once will be suicide. We only need to lure out Ray Van with Armon.” Shadow explained. “I think we can lure those two out first with Armarria’s help.”
Savion turned fiercely towards his brother. “Do Not Shadow.”
“It’s fine Savion. You know this is what must be done.” Armarria placed her hands on his chest. “I’m ready. I will lure them out.”
Shadow smirked. “Good. Now we just need a location to lure them out for this trap to work. ”
“He is a teleporter. He can teleport us anywhere and separate us like he did last time.” Armarria informed. “It’s impossible to detect where he is going to be.”
“Electricity should take care of that,” David spoke catching everyone’s attention. “If his body’s muscle fibers and neurons aren’t able to send electrical signals to his brain he won’t be able to teleport if my theory is correct.” He began to clean his glasses as he made his statement.
Savion smiled. “David you are amazing.”
“Of course he is. He is our brother.” Shadow scuffled his hair playfully. He jerked away.
“Can you make us these weapons?” Savion asked.
David nodded. “Making a taser is child’s play,” David replied confidently.
“Wow David.” Armarria walked over to hug the smart teen. “What would we do without you?” She held him close to her chest lovingly. “How long will it take you?”
“Maybe a few hours.” He stood up then. “Wait, who's going to stay behind with us? Are we all going?” He asked placing his hand on the table.
Melody’s eyes opened wide. Jet stood and screamed “YES!”
“You will watch over them while we are gone, David. No pressure.” Savion responded, touching his shoulder.
David shook his head frantically. “No. What if you two don’t come back? I can’t…I’m not strong like you guys.”
“You are David.” Savion objected.
“Nothing will happen to us. We will make sure to come back.” Shadow responded quickly after Savion.
He turned more towards Melody to comfort her. David still wanted to object, but only walked off to begin making the Tasers.
“Should I go after him?” Armarria asked Savion.
Savion sighed. “Shadow and I will talk to him after we finish planning.”
She nodded, sitting down in the chair. “We need somewhere open, but not too far away from the house just in case they are in trouble.”
Savion nodded. “I know just the place. The thing is getting Ray Van and Armon to show up.”
Shadow looked at Armarria. “We can get Armarria to call their name, simple.”
Armarria tilted her head, confused. “What? How is that going to work?”
Shadow nodded, still thinking his plan will work. “They need you bad enough Armarria shook her head.
“Once David is done with the tasers we will go the next day. Armarria needs some more training before she fights Ray Van.”
Shadow nodded and stood up. “Right, keep me posted. Good luck.” He bowed slightly to Armarria and then walked off. Armarria turned to Savion as she stood. He wrapped his arms around her waist.
“You need to control your powers a little better. Meet me outside.” He walked off then, leaving Armarria with the kids still at the table.
“Oh, can we watch?” Jet asked excitedly.
Armarria smiled. “Sure.” She walked out the back door to the backyard behind Savion. He stood back pretty far.
“Stay there.” He commanded. She stopped. “Now. Pick me up.”
Armarria was taken aback by his command. “Pick you up?”
“Ray Van possibly weighs more than me. If you can pick me up then your training will be done.” She sighed trying to focus on Savion.
Her hands went up midway to lift him with her mind. The wind began to pick up around Savion. Armarria’s arm began to shake as Savion stayed mounted on the floor. He even began to crouch to keep his strength tied to the floor.
She gave up as her arms swayed down. “I can’t lift you.” She said, defeated.
Savion grabbed a chair from the porch. “You will.” He walked back to his spot.
“What are you doing with that chair?” She asked horrified. Before she could object he threw it full speed at her. At the last second, the chair stopped right by her face.
“Dodge.” She fell back before Savion could punch her in the face as he rose up below the chair.
She caught his fist leaving him frozen. He smirked. “Good. Now push me away.” With just a wave of her hand, Savion went ground sliding back to his spot. Before he stopped she jerked her head up, lifting him slightly off the ground.
“Whoa Miss Armarria.” She jumped as she heard Jet right beside her. The surprise jump caused Savion to fall to the ground with a hard thud. Armarria ran over to him with her mouth covered.
“I’m sorry.” She said, helping him up.
Savion started laughing hysterically. “Savion did you bump your head? What’s so funny?” She asked.
“You picked me up. You have the strongest mind I know.” He pulled her down on the ground. They could have their fun now, but the danger was brewing.
