Chapter fifty-one
PANIC
Gabriella and her friends ambled along the Southbank promenade with a view of the river, city’s buildings and skyline on Friday evening. The sun shone and the calming wind made her forget her troubles as she linked arms with Joy and Liz on either side. Octavia, Claudia, Bella, Jamie, and Camilla lagged behind as they chattered amongst themselves.
She wasn’t in the mood to socialise, but Joy convinced her that she needed respite from all her issues and that, until her stalker was caught, she would fare better interacting with friends. Turning to Joy, she asked, “So how’s Jesse doing?”
