Chapter 4: Happy Birthday

It's now been a year and a couple of months since I became an official Zolansky. Everything has been great and the days have been going on smoothly.

I woke up really early in the morning, as usual, and hit the gym. Today is my 18th birthday and I just feel like driving around town in the car mom and dad got for me.

They mainly got it because they felt bad for not being able to

celebrate my 17th birthday three months after the ball

I tried to convince them that it wasn't a big deal and that i normally didn't celebrate it but they insisted on getting me a brand new bright red Lamborghini Aventador

They have been showering me with gifts ever since I got here. It's going to take me a while to get used to this lifestyle but hopefully one day I'll get there

oh yeah, Sarah and her family went back home a few months ago but she still calls me everyday

3 hours after my workout session, I went to my room and took a shower. I later put on a black custom made tracksuit from some high end label and a pair of Jordan 1 sneakers.

When I came out of my room I noticed that the house was too quiet. I tried to look for my parents to tell them about where I was going but I couldn't find them..... I went to their room, the living room and even tried calling them, that's when I met nanny Martha in the hallway.

"Good morning, Nanny. Have you seen my parents by any chance? I've been looking for them everywhere" I said.

She shot me a bright smile and said, " come with me"

we went down stairs and she led me to the door that leads to the back yard before stopping

"Go ahead and open the door, Natasha. I'll be right behind you" she said with a smile

I gave her a questioning look but she just stood there and smiled.

I cautiously opened the big door to find the whole huge backyard decorated but no one was around.

I looked back at our nanny when suddenly everyone jumped out of nowhere and yelled "surprise!"

"Holy cows! you guys scared the heck outta me!" I yelled

"happy birthday, girl!" I was stunned when I heard Julia's voice among the crowd

I looked around and realized that everyone from the orphanage was here, even the headmistress!.

They all came rushing at me and gave me group hug. I was so overjoyed that my eyes let down a few tears

"Aww look, the birthday girl is so surprised, she's crying. Isn't that sweet" I heard Sarah's voice cut though the rest

"you're all here! but how?" I couldn't believe that all my friends were actually here, i thought i wouldn't be able to see them for a while

" Your parents called me and told me that they wanted to surprise you and we were all invited." The headmistress explained happily

The little ones run towards me and started to play while circling around me

"Hey there my darling angels," i picked one of them up in my arms, " I missed you all so much!"

"we missed you too Nat!" they said

Then I noticed that the most energetic ones, Jojo and Sam, were not among them

"Where are Jojo and Sam?" I asked

"They got adopted shortly after you left" Carmen said

"Aren't you gonna give your cousin a hug?" Sarah pouted

I chuckled and gave her a big hug and thanked mom and dad for the wonderful surprise

"This is the best thing anyone has ever done for me. Gracias mama, gracias papa! I love you guys so much!" I said with a big smile

"We love you too, sweetheart. if you ever feel like visiting your friends or doing anything else, all you have to do is tell us. We would do anything just to see happy and smiling." mom said and came to my side and gave me the best hug ever

"We'll try to make sure that you don't lack anything in your life from now on. Even though we weren't together for the first 17 years of your life, we promise we will be there for even the little moments for as long as my name is Roman Zolansky, I love you, little flower." dad kissed my forehead.

We then partied the day away. we ate, we played games and we laughed until it was time for my friends to go

dad ordered one of the drivers to take them back in the minivan after mom handed each of them a farewell gift

Sarah and I went back inside when she told me that she was going to stay for a few more days.

I updated her on all the things that happened after she left and I also told her about the plans I had for day.

we ended up agreeing that we would drive around together while making stops at as many food joints as possible
