Veronica's POV
It's been a year since the most difficult times in my life happened. I always said that everything will be okay and guess what came true.
"Your father's progress is impressive Veronica. Based on his tests he only has a year left but here he is getting stronger." I smiled hearing my doctor's remarks.
"Miracle does happen Doc," I replied with the side of my eyes.
The doctor nod his head agreeing with what I had said.
"If his progress continues, your father can be discharged at the end of the month." I sobbed hearing those. I couldn't contain all the happiness that I have which made me burst into tears.
"Thank you, Doc," I uttered sincerely and shake his hands.
The doctor tapped my shoulder before leaving. When he was completely gone I go back to my father's room.
"What did he say, Veronica?" Katelyn asked when she saw me enter the room.
"If Dad's progress continues he can go home at the end of the month," Katelyn jumped in joy and hugged me tightly. On the other hand, my mother cried again upon hearing my news.
"God has answered our prayers," I walked toward my mother and gave her a tight hug.
"He did Mom," I caressed her back and kissed her forehead.
We waited patiently for my father to wake up and when he did we started to surround him.
"Dad," I called his attention. I have to stay calm as possible because too much emotion could make his heart weak again.
"You are doing a good job Dad," I squeezed his hand and smiled.
"The doctor said that if your progress continues you can go home at the end of the month," I said those things in the calmest way possible.
My father smiled at me and held my hand.
"Where is your husband?" He asked ignoring my question. My father roams his eyes around looking for Sebastián.
"How did you know?" I asked nervously. I am still finding a perfect time to tell him that I am married but I guess he already knows it.
"You always tell stories about him, Veronica," he answered and smiled at me.
"You can hear those?" When my father's heart became weak he was put into a coma, he just woke up last month.
"I have a problem with my heart but not with my hearing Veronica," I bowed my head.
"I'm sorry Dad," I apologized.
"For what?" he asked getting curious why I am suddenly apologizing.
"For getting married without your consent," I clasped my hands tightly and I could feel cold sweats building up to my forehead.
"I know your reasons Veronica and I understand you. Thank you for carrying the responsibilities I failed to perform and I am sorry too," tears formed in the corner of his eyes so I carefully hugged him.
"Don't you dare cry Dad." I threatened him but he just laughed at me and caressed my back.
A year has passed and my life is under my control again. Everything is getting fine. Dad is getting better. RDC company is doing well and I finally have someone to lean on... Sebastián.
With the thought of him, I remember that today is our wedding anniversary so I decided to go home.
Sebastián convince me to stay in his condo, since I was lost during that time and tired from making an endless decisions I just agreed. I didn't regret anything though. Living with Sebastián allowed me to be Veronica, without any pretensions I can be weak when I am with him and he makes me feel loved.
"Sebastián," I called his name when I arrived at his unit but no one answered.
I tried dialing his number but it was out of reach so I decided to contact his secretary.
"Hi, may I ask where is Sebastián?" I uttered politely.
"He's currently in a meeting Ma'am," I sighed in relief knowing where he is.
"Okay thank you, tell him that I called," I ended up the call and walk towards the kitchen.
I opened the refrigerator to find something to cook but we are out of stock.
I decided to go out to do some groceries but before I could leave Sebastián's unit I received a call from my secretary. It's odd because Sebastián told me to take a leave since the past months stressed me out. He told me that he will manage the RDC company for the time being. His offer is too hard to resist so accepted it, so I couldn't find any reason why would my secretary contact me, but I answered it.
"Ma'am I am sorry to bother you but you need to sign some papers. We tried contacting Sir Sebastián but he was out of reach and we need the approval as soon as possible." I sighed heavily and told her that I am coming.
Before starting the engine a text came in.

A gift for your wedding anniversary.
There is also a video attached to it. I got curious so I decided to play it before driving, which I later on regretted.
The video showed a woman's back and when the woman started walking away from the camera I saw Sebastián's face. His eyes are fixated on the woman's body.
The woman sat on his lap and started planting kisses on his jaw down to his chest.
Tears started to form on the side of my eyes when I saw how pleasured Sebastián was while the woman is busy giving him a blow.
Tears become loud cries.

Should I send it to your father too?
Blood drained from my face when I read the text.
To: Unknown
No! Please I'm begging you!
I drove off when I didn't receive any reply. I drove as fast as I can to reach the hospital.
My father is in a fragile state seeing this video could cause him death.
I wanted to be there fast but I know I have to stop when the light turned red.
I stepped on the break but it is not working. I started to panic when a woman crossed the street. But instead of hitting her, I turned the steering wheel on the other side...and my car hit the large tree.
Darkness filled my vision and a blurry sound coming from someone filled my ear.
"Babe, your wife is dead. We can now live happily." It was faint but I heard her words.
Did Sebastián plan to kill me to be with his... mistress?
No please, I don't want to die, my family needs me.
Bring me back, allow me to live.
I was lost in the darkness begging God to bring me back and later on, I felt my lips moving.
"I do," I heard my own voice.
What's happening to me?
When I opened my eyes I found myself standing in front of Sebastián listening to his vows.
I tried moving but it seems like I couldn't control my body. I closed my eyes when the priest announced that the groom can now kiss the bride.
My mind is protesting but my body acted the opposite.
Get yourself together Veronica. I keep on uttering that to my mind until I fully recover my consciousness.
"What day is it?" I asked Sebastián and he was weirded out.
"March 23, 2021," he answered with confusion in his eyes.
"Taking notes for our anniversary?" He asked playfully. I ignored his remarks and started walking outside.
Why am I here?
I got into an accident orchestrated by Sebastián and his mistress, but why am I here?
I closed my eyes tightly to think but a tap on the shoulder disturbed me from figuring things out.
"You traveled back in time," words from the priest that wedded us.
I look at him and he was serious about his words.
"Heaven heard your plea." Those are his last words before leaving me dumbfounded.
"Are you okay Veronica?" Sebastián asked me when he saw me standing outside the church looking in the direction where the priest disappeared.
I looked at his greyish eyes. I saw everything. Our marriage, the memories we created,...and the accident.
I won't allow myself to fall for you again Sebastián.
If I did travel back in time considered our fate reversed. I am now the master of this game.
