A week later, she was already in front of the prestigeous university and they were indeed right about the description of the place. It was grand and classic. She smiled and started to walk inside. She knows that she gets the attention of the students here particularly the leader of the cheering squad that was looking at her with hawk like eyes. But she just walked as if no one was there. Only did she found out that they too were classmates. They’ve become friends because they have the same polarity.

“Hey Shia, do you know someone here named Grey Sheil and he is taking up Finance?” she was unsure whether to ask that question to her new found friend but nevertheless, she is hoping that she knows.

“Of course! He is one heck of a popular guy, you know. I guess he was never aware of that anyway or he does not want to recognize his fan club.” Maxine was shocked. So, Grey has a fan club? He must be something.

“Are you one of his fans?” when she asked this question, Shia looked at her like she just lost her eyebrows.

“Seriously Maxine? I don’t need to be his fan, I mean, he is popular and good looking plus the fact that he is also one hell of a smart guy who tops in his exams always, I just don’t find him that attractive. I am forever loyal to my boyfriend, Trevor. By the way, he is the team captain of the basketball team in the university.”

“Ahh… what type of woman does Grey want? I mean like?”

“Are you interested in him? Oh save your save from heart break. He never once had given his attention to girls not until this year when he started courting the top student from Management. What was her name again? Uhmm… Ah that’s it! Her name is Miracle.”

Miracle? Is she the same Miracle she know? Is that poor rat admitted here too? Maxine smirked at the back of her mind. This is getting more exciting. What will she do if her soon to be boyfriend fall for her? Oh! It will be indeed a good show.

Maxine did everything to get Grey’s attention. They became friends too and they have a lot of time spent with each other because they are classmates in ALL subjects. She plotted everything from the start but she never knew about Miracle’s involvement in the story. After how many months, she have known that Miracle is already Grey’s girlfriend.

“So, they are together now? How sweet indeed. Tsk! Too bad, they will not stay like that forever. I strongly believe in the saying that, ‘There are no strong relationships if there is a great seductress involved’. You know, men succumbs to the inviting darkness even though they will know the consequence at the end. All that matters to them is their heat and lust.”

“I don’t think so Maxine. But I know mostly does. Those loyal men only has a population of 1 out of 15. But, are you sure about this. I don’t think it is a great idea.”

“That’s why there is a good plan Shia. In the field of love, everything is a battle. I am just using what I think is the ace.”

“So you plan to ruin them? Like right now?” Maxine just demonically smiled and looked below. They are currently at the rooftop of the school building. The breeze blows her hair and she leaned against the railings.

“Some things are needed to be taken care of slowly. You know, it gets sweeter just like fermentation process. But do trust me on this. I am not Maxine Cheng Carlin for no reason.”

“I just hope that you won’t regret it in the end. I am just worried because I am your friend Maxine, and I don’t want you to get hurt. Playing with fire is a great risk you and know that. It is still not too late to backout.”

“I understand your worry however, it has no grounds. I mean, life is a risk. And I love him already even though he doesn’t know about it. I am not going to steal him. I’ll just… you know, convince him. If he sways then better. If not, then good. If he strongly loves her then he will not fall on my traps. And even if he falls, he’ll get out.”

Maxine saw how happy the two have become. And Miracle is the same Miracle she knows. The one who never gives a damn about anything but school and work. A night on their field trip – means the whole class of Finance – she set out her trap. And she knows that a moth loves to fly closer to the fire even if it burns its wings out.

The air was cold but she was still outside. Her room was located on the room at the end of the alley. She felt a presence on her back and she looked at him. She knows that it was Grey. The familiar perfume and the sound of each step was so familiar to her.

“It’s cold outside Maxine. Why are you still up?” asked he. Maxine slowly turned to him and she flashed her innocent smile.

“I can’t sleep. And I think I can still survive the cold.” She faked a cough. Grey became worried and so, he took off his jacket and placed it around her shoulders. She murmured ‘thank you’ and then looked at the dark night sky.

“What a lovely night to fall in love. The stars are sparkling from a distance and the light of the moon, well… I’m just dreaming I guess. Love. It is such a strong feeling that will never get out of your system once you feel it stuck you. It is like lightning that comes without a warning. However, this cold night will always remind me that love is something that is hurtful.”

“Loving can hurt Maxine. But eventually, you’ll find the one that will play with your demons well.”

Maxine looked at Grey. She then raised her arm and placed it on his chest. She leaned slowly to him making Grey freeze on the spot.

“Can I fall in love tonight? I guess I can. But I know that you will never catch me Grey. It makes me sad and at the same time frustrated. You are near me yet too far too. It’s like, I am praying for a miracle that will never happen because you already had your ‘Miracle’.” Slowly, she looked up at him. This time, she was already embacing Grey. She tiptoed and at that brief moment, their lips collided. A sweet mistake that Maxine knows, will be the start of change. She closed her eyes to savor the moment. Grey came back to his senses and pushed Maxine a little bit.

“Maxine, stop this. I’m sorry, I can’t love you. I love Miracle. She’s my everything. I can’t ruin our relationship just because a friend of mine likes me. It’s not right!”

“Then what’s right? That I will silently cry while pleading to the heavens that you’ll be mine one day? Or right means, I make a move to get you and I choose the later and not the latter. Please Grey…”

“I’m sorry Maxine. I can’t accept your love. You deserve someone that will fully accept your heart.” Grey turned his back to her. He started to walk on the silent corridor. The dim lights along side makes the scene more heavier. Grey reached his room. He twisted the door knob and was about to enter when a strong force made him stop.

Maxine held his shirt and with force, made him look at her. She took advantage of the situation and advanced to him. She snaked her arm on his neck and kissed him torridly – knocking the air out on his lungs. She slipped her tongue inside his mouth and she wandered there like it was a lost city of the world. She pushed him inside the room and locked the door behind, still not cutting the ardent kiss that they are sharing as of the moment. Her tongue made several tricks and twists inside and Grey felt his head so light. He held her waist and he felt the edge of the bed. He sat there and Maxine was sitting on his lap.

Maxine nipped and bit his lips and he let out a throaty moan. They gasped for air as their lips parted. Their lips are still swollen from the intense encounter seconds ago. Gazes locked and they were lost in the depthes of their pair of orbs that expresses a thousand unknown messages yet they still knew the meaning behind it.

“I know that you can play well with my demons Grey. You are the only one capable of taming the monsters inside me.”

“But this is wrong…”

“Then do tell me if this is wrong too.”

Maxine grabbed his collar again and kissed him with so much ferocity. Later then, their clothes were thrown to the floor and they were not minding the world anymore. All they knew was that, the heat from their core that is slowly consuming them whole. His rough hands went to her sides and caressed her smooth skin. Her hands started to feel his chest muscles down to his abs.

They wandered the places they’ve never been before. Though they knew that everything is so wrong but the feeling they felt was beyond compare. Like a potion made from black magic’s procedure. No words can express. The whole room has a faint light coming from the small bedside lamp. The air coming from the airconditioning system was cold yet they both were on fire. The feeling of the hot encounter they had is much more worthy of the shame when they will get caught.

Slowly, he made his way to penetrate her core. She whimpered and was restless yet he was whispering sweet nothings to her ear which made her calm down. Soon enough, the pain subsided and Maxine felt an unexplainable pleasure coming from her core. Wave after wave, it hits her and overwhelms her system. They moaned in chorus as they shouted each other’s name when they reached the zenith.

They were both panting and they lay on the bed while staring blankly at the white painted ceiling. The heat slowly subsides. Maxine was happy – or more like over the moon. But Grey was not. He now felt the pang in his chest. Now that he realized what he had done. His betrayal to the one he loves consumed his soul slowly and made him guilty.

“You are guilty now aren’t you?” asked Maxine. She hid her nakedness under the white sheets of the bed. She heard him heavily sigh and she knew she was right.

“I betrayed her. She’s been loyal to me for more than two years and I really prayed to the heavens that she’ll love me back and when she did…”

“I’ll never tell anyone about our hot encounter tonight if that’s what you want. Your girlfriend will never know. Don’t worry. It is not as if you wanted to have s*x with me in the first place. I made it happen. I planned everything so you are still safe. I just want to give you my pure self as qa token of love.”

“You don’t know what you are talkking about Maxine. This situation we are in now is not as easy as it seems.”

Grey rose from the bed and picked up all his clothes and one by one, wore them again and he left Maxine inside that cold room. She sinisterly smiled. Of course, the poison has been made and in no time, it will cause the destruction that she ever wanted from the very start. The sweetest present in the world she can ever receive. Though not now, but she’s sure that it will be sooner.

The cold night made him shiver. He is still trying to contemplate the things that have happened. He looked upp above the dull night sky and sslowly, he realized the greatest sin he ever made in his life. But even if he admits it or not, it was the sweetest sin too. Something tells him that it was wrong but how come that he never felt a bit of hesitation earlier.

He pulled a handful of his hair in frustration. Thousands of thoughts flooded his mind yet his heart never cooperates. What’s wrong with him. The morning came and everyone started packing their things. The trip is now over and they are back to the reality again.
