Girl at the Cafe Store(Completed)

Betty Pov I hear a loud alarm clock and I shift to the different side of my bed to stop the alarm. It’s 5 am in the morning only but I have to wake up early every day. I snuggle in bed for some time to reorient myself before rubbing the remnants of sleep from my eyes. I went to the bathroom and take shower quickly. I grab my clothes and go to my younger sister and brother room to wake them up for school. I live with my 12-year-old sister grace and 7-year-old brother in our parent’s apartment. My mom died while giving birth to my brother Adam. After two years of my mother death our dad left us for some other woman and never come back, now it’s been 5 years I never saw him again. Now I’m 21 years old taking care of my younger siblings. “Grace” “Adam” common wake up don’t you want to go school? Both of you going to be late now common get ready and come to kitchen fast. I said little louder. I walk towards the kitchen and start preparing for breakfast. I pour cereals and milk in a bowl and grab orange juice for myself. It’s my usual breakfast, after finishing up I start preparing for lunch. Maybe today I can make some scrambled eggs for lunch today. I pour 5 eggs in a bowl and start preparing for lunch. I saw grace and Adam coming towards the kitchen I pour cereals and some juice to both of them too. Till they finished their breakfast, I also pack their lunches and put into their school bag. “Common finish fast both of you, otherwise you guys going to miss your school bus”. I said Both Adam and Grace run fast while putting their school bags and we lock the house and got out. Once Adam and Grace board the bus, I walk fast towards my house to grab my own purse to leave for the Café Store. While I was waiting for the bus I check the time “oh god, it’s already 7:30 am I will be late again”. When I enter the store I was 5 minutes early due to less traffic. I breathe in relief; at least my manager won’t scold me today also. I run towards storeroom and get ready for my shift as soon as possible. Since I lost both of my parents I was only one to take care of my sister and brother. Due to the family pressure I didn’t pursue my further studies and start working. Currently, I am working in this café store; sometimes I get a good tip from customers which help me a lot. I don’t earn much but of course, Starbucks pays me much better compare to another café store. Apart from that, I got a good tip from customers whenever I get lucky. It was totally a usual day, mostly in morning, I saw repeated customers who came in morning to enjoy the good coffee and enjoy a peace. I start taking orders from customers and give them a bright smile. Our daily customers always greet me with a smile and somehow it gives me a little happiness for a while. Since it’s a morning so there are fewer customers. My back turned back from the counter while I was preparing for coffee when I hear a strange sweet voice. “Excuse me; can you please take my order?” When I turn to counter to see, I was stunned to see a beautiful girl with blonde hair with slim body waiting patiently. For few seconds I was stunned to say anything to her when I hear her voice again to get my attention. “Ya…….yes how can I help you miss?” I asked while fumbling “Ummm......... well, I need Iced Caramel Macchiato,” she said softly. “Sure Mam”. She gave me her card. “Can you please help me with your Name and Contact Number”? My name is Carmen and my contact number is 688*******. Thank you, Miss Carmen, please wait for your seat while I get your order on your seat, I smiled at her. “Thank you, Betty. She smiled at me while checking my name on the batch card.” She sits on corner seat near the window while waiting for her order patiently. It’s not the first time when I saw a beautiful girl in my life but there is something different about this girl. After preparing for her order I walk toward her seat. “Excuse me, your order Carmen,” I said. She turns her head to grab the cup while I was putting down her cup on the table and our fingers touch slightly. Suddenly I felt some sensation, we see each other for few seconds & within a split second, I realized I was staring at her. “Umm…. I am sorry” I said and left the table while stumbling to the chair. I went back to my counter to hide my smile. Oh god, this is so awkward I mumbled.
