2081 Words
Eliza collapsed after and she was lying in the pool of her own blood, the villagers watched in horror and shock as she lies there just taking a few breaths as she doesn’t know how she was still able to breathe after being stabbed in one of her lungs, the ambulance accompanied with the police arrived on the scene, the paramedics worked quickly to try and see if they could save Eliza. Andrea and Kimberley watched in shattered tears as they witnessed Eliza’s blood-soaked body being put on a stretcher to be sent to the hospital, she looked across and see Andrea and Kimberley looking at her with tears in their eyes, what more she could’ve done, what more she could’ve said, the damage is done so it’s better to move on and just live with it. Eliza was admitted at the Plantain Hill Region Hospital where the doctors had to perform emergency surgery on her to suppress the bleeding from her lungs, she was inducted into a coma within the whole surgical procedure, Andrea and Kimberley accompanied by their aunt Francine who resides in Water Creek Heights not too far from where they lived had to comfort them in their time of counseling. Aunt Francine had offered them to come and live with her for the time being as their house was cordoned off as a murder scene, “ Your sister is going to be okay, just pray about it.” Said Aunt Francine and Andrea said that why she should pray when all it has caused was just heartbreak, Kimberley was just quiet this whole time from the drive to the hospital to even the waiting room she was just in a somber mood at the tender age of five. Andrea looked at Kimberley in disgust and hit her one slap right across the cheek, “Always her favorite, I hate you, keep away from me.” Said Andrea and with that Aunt Francine slapped Andrea at the hospital, “Don’t you dare put your hands on her, she’s just a child, and she didn’t ask to be involved in this madness.” Said Aunt Francine and then Andrea just ran away from the hospital. Kimberley cried as she never cried before all she had was the music box that Eliza gave to her and as she opened it the sweet melodious tone calmed her down as she remembers the fond memories of her sisters, from going to the Emperor Valley Zoo to even Movie Towne all she could do was just reminisce and be comforted by the music box. Aunt Francine comforted Kimberley during the time they sat for hours waiting on the results of Eliza’s surgery and the doctor came with the good news that the surgery was successful and that Eliza was resting comfortably but there was something that the doctor had discovered that he needed to have a word with her in private, the assistant nurse kept her company while the doctor privately talked to her and she told her that Eliza has advanced tuberculosis and has been tested positive for AIDS, “ So what could this mean that there would be a 70/30 chance that my niece could live?” asked Francine and the doctor let her know that Eliza could still live a healthy, normal life but she has to retire from gardening effective immediately as too much work at this time would cause the lungs to collapse and resulting in Lung arrhythmia. Francine thanked the doctor for all his hard work in getting Eliza to a stage of recovery, “ These are some of the prescriptions she needs to take as she does her daily routine so keep them close to your possession at all times because we were observing her during surgery and she was ranting about wanting to kill herself.” Said the doctor, Francine was on full alert as she couldn’t thank the doctor enough for being so considerate so she asked him if she could see her and he told her to come early in the morning as she has to stay overnight for observation. Aunt Francine came out and saw Kimberley reading a bible that the nurse gave to her and she was reading aloud for her to hear. Francine couldn’t help but marvel at the sight of Kimberley reading scriptures, “One day I’m going to be just like Jesus and be a shining light so that my father in heaven could be proud of me.” Said Kimberley as she looks up to the nurse with a smile on her face, “You have a wonderful niece take good care of her, she has the spirit of a true child of God nurture it.” Said the nurse and Aunt Francine made her know that she will be well taken care of. They exited the hospital and they were approached by police, they would like to inquire about the status of Eliza Alexandia and she told them that Eliza was resting comfortably as she now was recovering from surgery, and with that, the officer told her that if she intends to visit her again let them know as they would like to interrogate her. Francine took the number and carried Kimberley to her car and drove to look for Andrea as she was her responsibility since Eliza is unfit to take care of her, she looked for her high and low driving for hours to the point where she filed missing persons report at the Plantain Hill Police Station that female officer who was on duty at the time told her that she would have to wait 24 hours until she was declared missing, Aunt Francine was a bit concerned that Andrea would be out this late, Kimberley shrugged her dress as she looked at Aunt Francine, “ God is looking after her, she’ll come back.” Said Kimberley as she smiled at her, Francine sighed and look at Kimberley as she was frustrated and worried about the whereabouts of Andrea. Francine drove all the way to Water Creek Heights, Aunt Francine was a praying soul, even though the burdens were on her shoulders, she encourages herself daily that she would do all things through Christ who strengthens her. Kimberley got accustomed to the new home that she sat on the couch and took out her music box that she holds dear to her heart and as she opened it again and heard the melodious tones, she could just reminisce of the beautiful times that she had with her sisters, tears ran down her eyes as she had longed for those days, she felt broken, hurt and sadly abused as the mere thought of Eliza being at the hospital has caused her not to really say much of anything let alone ate as Aunt Francine made macaroni pie with ketchup. Aunt Francine couldn’t bear to witness Kimberley like this, she came and sat right next to her and her words were that God was at the center of her life, Kimberley was moved to tears as she hugged her Aunt with never letting her go. God had major plans for Kimberley. Aunt Francine used to take part in Kickboxing and Boxing competitions long ago, she looked at her trophies and her accolades once upon a time as she stared at pictures of her and Eliza together training at the Serpent Fang Gym. Francine looking at the news and watching the rise of crime in the country, called Kimberley and she had a woman to woman chat with her and these were her words: “Kimberley, my niece you were born in a world where right is wrong and wrong is right, where no one will have respect for each other, and it either you survive or perish because we are in the last days, the love of God is not within the hearts and minds of men, they have become corrupt and only cares about themselves and what they could gain in this life, you are a born a woman which makes you an easy target as men will prey on your emotions and try to get you to give up what God has blessed you with and that’s your virginity, holy and sacred in the sight of God, you’re going to face some hurricanes but God has chosen you to become a beacon and a shining light to this world, you may not see that as you’re young but I want you to know that you as a woman were created to be beautiful, righteous, God-fearing but most importantly strong. The nation, as well as the world, have judged us as just playthings, instruments of pleasure, you are going to face temptation and you’re going to face boys well as men who would want to take advantage of you and want to do you all sorts of vile and wicked things but keep to God and whole steadfast as God didn’t give you a spirit of fear but the spirit of courage to walk through the valley of the death to make you never fear any evil. I love you Kimberley and just as how Eliza fought to protect you, I’m going to teach you from now to defend and protect yourself because you are a woman and you were born to be fearless but most importantly you were created to make a difference in the lives of others.” Kimberley smiled and told her that she just wants to be just like Jesus when she grows up and Aunt Francine pondered as to why would Kimberley put so much emphasis on being like this man called Jesus Christ. Kimberley smiled and told her that the reason why she wanted to be like Jesus, “Jesus saves lives and that’s what I want to be when I grow up a lifesaver.” said Kimberley as she held her music box, smiling as the horses ran around. Francine had never met a kid as young as Kimberley with so much intellect especially at her age, she made a vow that she would train her but most importantly train her in the ways of the Lord so not only she would be sharp in fight abilities but she would also be mentally, emotionally and spiritually sharp so she would be well aware of her surrounding in dealing with people and also life’s challenges. The next day Francine and Kimberley went back to the station to get an update on Andrea who went missing yesterday afternoon and they managed to find her in an abandoned shed with ten other men in Laisan Village, “ Andrea is currently in custody with the men at this time as they had outstanding warrants ranging from guns and ammunition to Larceny, there were also several narcotics in the shed as well so Andrea might be charged along with the men as she is tried as an adult even though she’s underage.” said the female officer. Aunt Francine accompanied Kimberley to the car and drove to the Merchant City Mall to pick up some groceries and while on their way Kimberley sees a picture of Francine with a child in hand, “ Who’s the child?” asked Kimberley and Francine told her that it was Kimberley when she was just three months, “ Your father had regrets, regrets of not taking responsibility of his actions and not being there for his family.” Said Francine, Kimberley asked her what was the main reason her father left, and Aunt Francine with tears in her eyes while driving told her that she would get all the answers as soon as they get home. They arrived at the Merchant City Mall where Kimberley was in the shopping cart but little that they didn’t know that they were being targeted by a common criminal who was well known to police. Francine and Kimberley were in the food aisle and they were interacting, getting to know each other, “What’s your favorite book in the Bible.” asked Francine and Kimberley told her that her all-time favorite was Matthew because of its detail on how Jesus Christ was born and his life as the Son of God, “You really look up to this man called Jesus huh?” asked Francine and Kimberley made her know that if a man laid down his life for the world where even the smallest child can be free from sin that’s definitely a man to look up to, Francine smiled at her realizing that Kimberley wasn’t no ordinary girl but a true soldier of God even as young as five years old.
