Chapter 12

1033 Words
Laney's My parents, the people that I have been wanting to see for 3 years, are here in my dining room with my mate. I looked at Damien and then back at my parents. I am a bit confused about what is happening right now. I went straight to Damien and sat in his lap. Feeling him next to me, on me, will help with all of these feelings that are just hitting me at once. I don't know if it's the full moon that heightens them or just 3 years of not being with them. Damien notices my fear and I start shaking a bit. He then wraps his arms around my waist and tucks his nose in my neck. So relaxing, and everything I was feeling just went away. "Good morning, it is nice to see you both." I started feeling a bit weird. I smiled and then got up from Damien's lap and walked around the kitchen to make a cup of coffee. "Okay, can someone please start talking, this is crazy." I said, leaning against the counter waiting for my cup of coffee. Looking at Damien, then at my dad and mom. "Sweetheart," mom started. "I want you to know that your father and I both love you. That day 3 years ago was tough for both of us. But we had no choice," Mom said as her eyes looked sad. I know she is telling the truth. "More of I didn't have a choice, you had one Jackie. I wanted to tell her the truth. You went to the Alpha telling him you had this feeling about Laney and her wolf. You knew that he was a protectionist in his pack." Said my father, looking really upset. "Kent, please, I had no choice. It was to keep her safe." Mother said. My head was starting to get woozy. "Stop. What are you both talking about?" I said, looking at both of them. "Laney, have a seat. Let's discuss this." Damien said, as he came around the counter and pulled me close to him. I grabbed my cup of coffee and, with him, moved to the table across from my parents and sat down with Damien by my side. "Okay Jackie, start from the beginning." Said Damien, he grabbed my hand and latched our fingers together on his lap. The tingles felt so calming. I will never get used to the feeling. I am still waiting to hear from Nia again. She must be resting before we shift tonight. "Sweetheart, your great great grandmother was the first white wolf in our family line, it does skip a generation. My mother, your grandmother, told me stories on how powerful a white wolf can be." Looking at my mother in shock after what she just said. I am processing but freaking out. I am a white wolf? "Relax honey, let her finish." Said my dad while reaching out across the table and putting his hand on top of mine and squeezing them. My mother taking a deep breath and she continued. This is really important for my daughter. She has to know the power and the dangers that come with the power. "Your grandmother used to tell me stories about our family line and why she never shifted with the pack. She was a white wolf with icey blue eyes. She also had powers that she called her gifts. Every white wolf has an ability to control the elements; fire, air, water and earth. They also have the ability to lead a pack. They become more powerful than an alpha." I took a deep breath, there is another gift that could put my daughter in danger, she has to know. "Mom, there is something else, isn't there?" Laney said while looking at her mother. "Yes, something that is so scary and is what also puts you in real danger apart from the power of the elements. You have the ability to heal." I told her. Laney interrupted her mother, "Mom, we all have the ability to heal, I don't understand." "Please, honey, hold on. Yes, we all do have the ability to heal, but white wolves heal faster and their blood can heal others at the same rate. That is what makes you and other white wolves endangered. There are packs that want to take advantage of your abilities, including the Alpha King," I said to her. Looking her in the eye, and noticing how terrified she looked. What have I done? I have scared my little girl, and pushed her away. 'Keep calm Jackie, she will understand things in time.' said my wolf Sina. "I am so sorry that I kept all this from you. I was hoping to keep you safe." "Why did I not shift when I turned 16?" Laney asked, looking at Damien and her father. "Your wolf wasn't ready. We both knew that you had one. We were hoping and praying that the moon goddess won't continue the linage and that you would be a normal wolf like us, but when you said, you couldn't feel her the morning of your birthday. Right there we had it figured out. A white wolf does not fully mature and comes till they meet their mate. Thanks to Damien, you have your wolf and you are ready to shift." Said Kent who started to tear up. I just let the tears come down as my mate, her father, told her the truth. Kent's After telling my little girl why she didn't get her wolf at 16 and having her mother tell her what type of wolf she is. I couldn't hold back anymore. We have been so close when she was a child and having to do what her mother and I both did to her 3 years ago was so hard. "I am sorry about everything," I told her. I then got up and walked outside. I let Steal take over and I shifted. I needed to just let out steam and Steal needed a run. We were both hurt and have been this way for 3 years. 'I don't know if she will ever forgive us Steal.'
