Chapter 33 – Detour
“What was that?” Dale shouted at the comm. “I didn't catch it. Annora? Annora!” The alarm suddenly shut off, plunging the corridor into an eerie quiet. “Annora?” There was no answer.
“Nat,” Zack said with a knowing look in his eyes.
Dale and Cole looked at him.
“He shut down the alarm.” Zack looked at Cole. “You said only Nat could do it, so it has to be him. He shut it down because he's up to something. I can feel it.”
“I'll call you back,” Dale said into the comm, though it sounded like Annora had already left. He disconnected the call anyway. He looked back at Zack. “What do you think he's up to?”
