S01 EP04: What Could it Be?

PREVIOUSLY...

Raven tricked an oldman at night by getting inside of his dreams and make him mad so that the oldman will chase him until they get in the wilderness.

The Seven Defender's has gathered at the town's gate firs light in the morning. Some of the villager's gave their lucky charms and offered some food for them as they begin the first expidition of mankind. Light was standing in front of the gate and watched them go with full faith and at the same time getting worried for them.

Shortly after the gates closed as the Seven Defenders left the town. Light decided to go to the market place and there he notices how much people have grown and flourished in the span of years since there was no sign of evil not until Light met Dark Orb who was disguised as an oldman on the same day. Since Light was caught off guard, his emotions are mixing up and his anger against Dark Orb took control of his decision making which causing the oldman's life as the consequence of Light's action causing the witnesses to panic and spread the news around town. Moments after the incident, Light is back in his throne room and watches some of his people leave the town due to being scared of the king.

Meanwhile...

The Seven Defenders took their short break on their first post which is their marker at the same time as sign of the place where they will meet some villagers to travel with them. However, no villager is there so they decided to wait.

(Seven Defender's hitched their horses and puts down their stuff on the ground)

Palasso: Ohhhh! (Stretches his back).

Brax: Feeling old yet?

(Palasso looks at Brax and smirks)

Palasso: Yeah but still have a gap on your ageeee NYEHEHEHEHE!

Dianna: Oooffff!! (Waves her hand back and fort on her nose like she smells something stinks)

(Brax smilingly shakes his head and Palasso fist bumped with Dianna)

Brax: Alright... You got me right there. HAHAHAHA!

Dianna: I like your sportsmanship there Brax. (reaches her fist)

(Brax bumped his fist to Dianna's fist and Palasso's fist too)

Everyone was sharing their food and laughter as they all talk about some silly stuff and also about their favorite moments before they become official members as the Seven Defender's.

(Fangz placed his mug on the ground, stopped eating and interrupted the moment)

Fangz: Alright... I don't want to ruin the moment but... I have a serious question for everyone, including myself.

(Everyone got quiet and turns around to look at Lancer while he was looking on the ground)

Max: Yeah? What is it?

Fangz: What are you all going to do when you find those Seven Spirits?

(Everyone still quiet)

Fangz: Since the majesty told us to spread humanity further, are you guys going back to the palace and give the spirits to the king?

Brax: Well... If I successfully found one of the Seven Spirits? I'm going to bring that with me as I go back to the palace. From that moment, I will be gathering some villagers with me in order to spread humanity and retire myself as a member.

(Everyone nods their head and look to each other)

Fangz: So... That's the reason why you chose not to bring some villagers with you?

Brax: Yes. I'm the shield of the palace and my duty is to protect everyone but I am a killing shield when I'm in the battlefield. You guys know what I mean, right?

Max: I understand you my friend. We all have our own duties in and outside the palace or our town.

Palasso: It is indeed difficult to fight against your enemy on the battlefield if your focus is split into two.

Fangz: Focus on the target...

Brax: What about you Max?

Max: Me? Well... To be honest, I was hoping for Taurus spirit and when I successfully got my hands on it? I will use that to enhance my learning as blacksmith in order for me to share more knowledge to the people specially to those who I chose to travel with me. But before that, I will leave them somewhere safe then continue my journey alone.

Dianna: That's good Max. Actually, I was planning the same thing and I also agree to what Palasso just said. But when I have one of the spirits? I will bring it home.

Fangz: Caster, how about you?

Caster: Me? I will not go back to the palace when I get one of the spirits.

Fangz: Why is that?

Caster: The presence of the seven spirits can actually lead Diablo's forces into the palace and he might bring a full force without any hesitation at all.

Fangz: So... Correct me if I'm wrong... you are saying-

Lancer: There's three possible plans of Diablo's forces. First one is that they might be waiting for us to get the spirits first and gather them all together in one place before they attack us. Second, there is a possibility that they will ambush us on our way back as we get the spirits.

Caster: And last but not the least, is they might be on their way to the locations of the seven spirits just like us. Either we're just ahead of them or they are.

Palasso: Wow... Those thoughts didn't even cross in my mind!

Brax: So... We can also be the reason of bringing threats to our hometown? I see.

Max: I think it is better indeed if we are not going straight ahead to the palace.

Fangz: Lancer... Caster... What you both have said, are they have connection from what happened last night at the valley?

Lancer: That was a different story Fangz.

Caster: Just a theory based on what I have analyzed if Diablo's forces really do exist out there.

Lancer: What about you Fangz? What's your answer about the same question you asked on us?

Fangz: After I get the spirit I will brign it to the palace and leave the place by myself and I won't go back to the town's palace anymore.

Dianna: Why?

Fangz: That place reminds me of the past and all I only feel is anger and rage against Diablo's forces to avenge my fallen brothers specially my parents.

Caster: I understand what you feel Fangz, and that is more than a valid reason.

Fangz: And I think we have the right to know what happened on the valley last night. Don't you think?

Lancer: It's alright Caster. Show it to them including what happened to Sandra.

Everyone: WHAT?!

Caster: Are you sure about this?

Lancer: They have more than a right to know about that as members of the defenders.

The surrounding was filled with silence as they contemplate what they all have shared to each other. However, a noise came from the direction of crossroads are and the Seven Defender's grabbed their weapons and stays alert.

(Fangz crouched and lay his palm on the ground to feel the vibration)

Brax: What do think Fangz?

Fangz: An unfamiliar aura is what I sensed... Multiple. No... There's a lot of'em.

Lancer: Palasso, climb a tree for wider surveillance on the area.

Palasso: On it!

Lancer: Max and Brax both of you protect the horses, if they will aim for them it will surely slow us down as we travel.

Fangz: They're getting closer...

Lancer: Caster, prepare your barrier. Do not over use your mana on this fight.

Dianna: I got your back Caster.

Palasso: I see someone approaching!

Lancer: How many do you see?

Palasso: I can only see one!

Fangz: How could it be?! Suppose to be more than one.

Palasso: Get ready!

The surrounding was filled with tense as the defenders made their battle stances and waits for the unknown thing that is heading to their location.

Villager: HELP!

Palasso: It's a villager!

Lancer: Everyone at ease!

Villager: Please! HELP ME!

(Villager falls on the ground while running)

(Lancer helped him up)

Dianna: What happened?

Villager: We... We are waiting for you guys to arrive and then a group of people pretended to be you guys.

Lancer: Pretended to be like us?

Fangz: What? You can't tell that it wasn't us?

Villager: They are all looked exactly like you. From physical appearance and strength. Gestures and the way you talk.

Caster: Everything are copied.

Brax: Tell us what happened next.

Villager: While we are waiting here and saw them we proceed to travel along with them. However while we are walking on the wilderness, the surrounding is slowly getting dark and mist appears even if the sun is up high and then they disappeared from the mist. We tried to protect ourselves by raising weapon that we carry while we wait. And... And then...

(The villager suddenly felt a pain on his chest)

Villager: Aaghh!!

(The villager grips on his chest while his eyes are almost going to pop-out and he's mouth drooling)

Lancer: What's happening to you?

Max: This ain't good Lancer.

(Max pulls Lancer away from the villager)

The villager coughs blood on the floor then the defenders made their distance away to the villager.

Brax: Get behind me!

(Brax stood on front and raised his shield in front to protect them)

The villager continues to screaming in pain and they can feel his how it hurts and the villagers scream is getting louder. Palasso got alarmed and decides to look around from top of the tree to see if it was a trap or a signal to the enemy.

Villager: I-DONT-WANT-TO-DIE!

(The villagers body is slowly transforming into a tall unspeakable and unexplainable creature with lots of arms and head serving as his body.)

Dianna: What on earth is that...

Lancer: GET BACK! NOW!

(Everyone falls back and gets in their position and prepares to fight)

Villager: HE-HEEE-HEEEELLLPPP! GRAAAGHHH!

(The villager transformed into a monster and fights the Seven Defenders)

Palasso: What in the God's name is this creature doing is that?

The villager revealed his new identity, a 10 foot giant who was wrapped with the arms of his fellows villagers which acts as thick layers of armor to protect his inner core of lava cube.

Villager: THE CONSUMER... IS HERE!

(Consumer stomps heavy and roars)

Max: Have you met something like this before Brax?

Brax: No Max, haven't seen this one before. Not even in my dreams or at least.

Palasso: Pretty sure none of us met something like this but...

Fangz: Consider this as the first challenger since we are all about to begin the journey.

(Fangz stretches his arms)

Palasso: Now!

Fangz flashed in front of Consumer and lands his dual short scythes but Consumer blocked his attack and Fangz blinks out of Consumer and Palasso's arrow lands on his face.

(Consumer steps back a little backwards)

Fangz: Good shot...

(Palasso smirks)

Consumer: Sloppy...

(Consumer breaks the arrow into half)

Consumer: Raaaagghhhhh!!

(Consumer charging towards the Seven Defenders)

Lancer: EVERYONE SCATTER!

(As the members scatter they reveal Brax and he strikes his shield on the ground to stop Consumers tackle attack)

Consumer: Grrrrr!!

Brax: It's been a long time since someone gave my shield a powerful charge like this!

(Brax being pushed back a little)

Consumer: HU-MANS!

Lancer and Fangz dashed behind Consumer and tried to slice his back and nape. But the protection on him was too strong and regenerating after the attack.

(Consumer grunts)

Fangz: Just like you've said.

Lancer: We need to figure out how fast his regenerating process...

Max: So we can give him an effective damage... I see...

(Brax pushes back Consumer)

Brax: MY TURN NOW!

While Consumer getting pushed back Dianna appeared behind him and slams her hammer on his head which gives an opening for caster to figure out how fast Consumer can regenerate.

Caster: It's approximately 5secs before he can fully heal himself.

Dianna: 5?! Are you kidding me?!

Lancer: That's enough time for me and Fangz to deliver our finishing blow.

Consumer suddenly stopped and after some seconds he released long arms that holds different types of weaponry and then quickly went to perform powerful blows in random swings.

(Brax leaning forward on his shield)

Brax: Grrrrr!! NOW WHAT?!

(Caster summons her barrier to protect Dianna)

Dianna: Thanks. I didn't see that coming.

Caster: Can't believe something like this can deliver strong blows like this simultaneously.

(Lancer and Fangz dodging and blocking each attacks)

Fangz: I will give you an opening and you should deliver the final blow.

Lancer: It's easy. But we need to figure out how we can do that. Everyone of us are pinned down except Palasso.

Fangz: He can find a way to lure these hands away from us so that we can have an opening to attack.

Palasso aims at the sky shot his arrows in the air which lands on top of Consumer. He got his attention and decides to chase him using each of his hands.

Palasso: Uhmmm... Guys?

(Max jumps in to block some of the hands but the rest got pass him)

Max: Not good!

(Caster sends a barrier to Palasso before the hands hit him)

Palasso: (Gasps deeply) Thank you!

Lancer: Fangz and Palasso, let's dash around him so his arms gets tangled up.

Fangz: Right!

Palasso: Right!

(Lancer, Fangz and Palasso dashes around in random directions while sending attacks against Consumer)

Consumer: STEAAA-DDDYYYY!!

(Lancer threw his spear to the arms which causes them to get stuck)

Lancer: Dianna!

Dianna jumps on the arms of Consumer and ran heading to the area where Lancer's spear landed.

Dianna: HERE IT GOES!

(Dianna smashes her giant hammer to Lancer's spear)

Consumer: GRRRAAAAGGGHHH!!

Brax and Max charges towards Consumer to push his legs backwards for him to fall forward.

(Brax and Max grunting)

Caster: ENHANCE!

(Caster enhanced Brax and Max strength to take down Consumer and he falls)

(Palasso and Fangz landed beside the spear while Lancer landed on the tip of the handle)

Lancer: Fangz!

(Fangz dashes forward to attack)

Fangz: CYCLONE!

(Fangz released powerful slashes breaking Consumer's layered protection on his back)

Palasso: PIERCING ARROW!

(Palasso's arrow wooshes fast on Consumers back which blocks the armor to regenerate)

Consumer: GRRRUUUNNNNTS!

Lancer hops down and went for his spear to be on half and have his short spear then he jumps up high to aim for the arrow on Consumers back.

Lancer: SOARING SUN!

Lancer's short spear bursting down the sky and landed on Palasso's arrow which allows his attack penetrate deep and destroy the lava cube. It took about an hour and half before they finally destroyed the monster and turned into dust leaving the villagers body lifeless and blood being fully consumed.

(Caster approached the body and touches the forehead)

Caster: Show me what the villager saw, what happened to the rest of them and who did this to you...

As Caster visualizing everything that happened to him and to other villagers, she is telling what is happening then they figured out it was Dark Orb and his forces.

Brax: So... It's true...

Palasso: Majesty was right after all. There are presence of evil around.

(Lancer walks forward to Caster and went for his short spear)

Lancer: Diablo... Dark Orb... These two are the root of evil in the surface and underworld.

Fangz: We have to destroy them both.

Palasso: But Diablo was dead for a lot of years from now, right?

Caster: Trapped. Not killed.

Max: I guess we should stick to the plan.

Brax: I agree with you Max. We have to prioritize the mission given by the majesty to us.

Dianna: We do the rest after we that. We don't know how many evil presence are still lurking out there.

Palasso: We got to come up for a different plan. Or a back up plan atleast things turns sideways.

Fangz: I agree. If we choose to change our plan and prioritize killing Dark Orb, our powers combined won't be enough.

Caster: We need the strength of the seven spirits for us to gain power of Good.

Lancer: Well then. We go to the destination where we are set to go, find the seven spirits and we all gather together to head back safely and stronger.

Fangz: Hmmmm...

Lancer: If thing's went sideways, for instance the palace was attacked before we arrive or after we left the palaver earlier, we will go find the location of the portal to the underworld.

Brax: Sounds like a good plan.

(Everyone was quiet)

Caster: If things went sideways like that. I think it is best if we search for survivors first and bring them to safety before we look for Dark Orb.

Fangz: Why is it?

Caster: Even if we attack Dark Orb or attempt to destroy the portal we will still fail. There's a possibility that we cannot just get to him or to the portal that easy.

Dianna: What do you mean Caster?

(Caster stands up and casts a spell of revealance and showed them what she finds out from the vision of the villager)

Caster: This is where the portal to the underworld lies...

Brax: The Dark Village...

Palasso: Woah... It's true...

Caster: The portal is heavily guarded by low ranking pillar members of Dark Orb. The vision wasn't clear of how many are there and how strong they are.

Lancer: As we get closer to the location, we are expected to face opponents that can possibly be stronger than us or at the same strength like us.

Fangz: They are probably the ones who sent to search for the Seven Spirits just like us.

Max: I agree. If Caster said they are just "low ranking members pillars" that means there are "higher" ones which is stronger than them.

Dianna: If I were to rule a nation, I won't send out my strongest to the expedition so incase of invasion, I have a little confidence that my nation stands still.

Brax: I agree.

Fangz: There are lot's of possibilities to assume their plans. But we must get our hand's first to the Seven Spirit's befoee they do.

Palasso: Right!

Dianna: I think we also need to know how we can all communicate or at least know that each of us are still alive during our own expiditions.

Brax: Good thought. That can also help us know if other's didn't make it, someone from our member's can go after that to maybe save or complete the unfinished mission.

Lancer: Caster, can you do something similar to that?

Caster: Well... I can only provide a symbol that represent's each one of us and to do that we need everyone of us to have engraved markings on our armors to use as symbol to track on to.

Fangz: Lst's do this. Opened predator's mouth will be my engraved symbol.

Palasso: I'll go for one wing symbol.

Brax: Welp... I'm the shield so... Shield is my symbol.

Max: Anvil. Mine is Anvil! That represent's my forging skills as blacksmith!

Brax: Always want to have the same idea with me right there old friend?

Max: Of course! NYAHAHAHAHAHA!

Dianna: Symbol of hammer is mine.

Lancer: Spear's symbol is mine.

Caster: And my symbol is a book.

Caster engraved their symbols to each of their armors accordingly and the other 6 symbols to was engraved on their gauntlent's so they could know if somenof them made it or not.

Palasso: This looks awesome!

(Palasso admiring his gauntlent)

Palasso: Anyway, how can you tell if one of us didn't make it?

Caster: The symbol will stop glowing and slowly fades away.

Fangz: So these symbols tracks our life as long as these are attached to us?

Caster: Not exactly. Even if your armors our gauntlents got separated from you and your body, each of us will have a glance of a quick flash symbol in our heads.

Dianna: That sounds a little scary but... I'll take that.

Palasso: Flashbacks... I hate flashbacks.

Lancer: So... We can now commence our expeditions.

Fangz: Wishing you all best of luck. I pray to Goddess Athena that she will guide and protect each and everyone of us including the majesty and the town's people.

Palasso: It's unusual to hear those words from you Fangz. I appreciate it! I do wish the same for you!

Each of the members of Seven Defenders head on their own path to begin their expeditions to finish their own missions.

Meanwhile... When the Seven Defenders are gone. A group of mysterious entities appeared from the crossroads.

Mysterious Entity 02: So... They managed to win against Consumer...

Mysterious Entity 03: Should we follow'em?

Mysterious Entity Leader: Let them be.

(Mysterious entity leader picks up villager's skull)

Mysterious Entity Leader: Let the low ranking pillars face these so called "Seven Defenders".

(Mysterious entity leader crushes the skull)

Mysterious Entity 05: I thought they'll retreat..

Mysterious Entity Leader: Let us all head to the palace as planned by the Dark Orb. SCATTER!
