Chapter 16

You think that's weird? wait till you see what happens on with the rest of us. As I walked down through the mirrored glaze, reflections of myself through the frosted mirror could be seen in various directions, if they were clear as crystal, it would make my job alot harder. But thankfully, I saw her just in time, she looked scared, and older, I would say, but how? As I thought to myself that exact question while I walked towards her, not realising I was in centre of the mirrored glaze itself as I arrived closer. But right, there, just in time, I was going to comfort her from whatever she is witnessing on the other side of the way, but when I came towards it and witnessed it, I was shocked myself. It wasn't a horror ghost doll, or some crucifixion showcase, it was her itself, that's right.. Somehow, her visible display managed to get in right in front of her, waving on with a scared expression almost like I was standing beside the real ghost, and the actual Kinze was her. "What's.. going on?" I asked. "I don't know.. she looks, just like me." said Kinze, as to the one beside me until the other one speaks out next. "You're the one that looks like me! Tokyo, something's wrong, this.. this is a trick, don't believe her!" yelled the other Kinze when just then, another one of her variation shows up right behind me when I didn't notice at first. "What's going on? is this a mirror?" asked to which I turned, terrified of whom this one could be. "Tokyo, you're finally, wait.. no, no!" yelled another variation poping on the other side of the place. Soon I was filled by it, different sides of different person of the same features, top to bottom, I didn't know what to think, how to believe, each one says the other is fake, and she was real, and before I know it, the speaker turns on, which got things even more complicated than they already have. "Greetings.. Contestants, welcome to the next round my lucky fellows, today you will be playing on of my favourite game, The Amidst us, but before that, let us have one last family reunion before the night falls upon us." said Mr Manavi through his ever watching speaker, heard across the entire plan. "Operater, Operater, are you there? Operater!" I yelled but only a crackled noise appear to come on from my mic, he was gone, and I was gone, or was I? Bundles of Kinzes started hurdling up on me, the first one that was close to me, grabbed me tightly exactly like the actual Kinze would do. "I don't know what's happening... don't listen to them, it's me, it's really me!" cried Kinze, or was it a fake one, just when more of them start coming up on my way to which I started running away as I've pushed them. My heart was pounding through the fear of being scratched by the glimpse of truth, but what took me back to my core was when I bumped into someone, just as Mr Manavi opened his voice. "Today, you receive a gift, from me, my child, meet your long lost first love, your hero from hometown." said Mr Manavi when I backed up from whoever I was bumped into, only to get a ghost of a past glimpse as I looked upon his face. "Tokyo!" yelled a masculine voice of whom I thought to be Tulio at first as I got back up from his arms, but when I stepped back away as his face was clear as crystal towards me, I realised who he was then and there, the fourth contest of the 2010 game, Akiro Hamadha himself, my stepfather. "Tokyo, I thought I never see you again." said Akiro while looking at me after so many years. It was heartwarming to see him in perfect shape again, his bald hair, and his handsome smile at me, I'll never forget it. "Dad.." I whispered as I rolled up my eyes in tears. "In this very special round, the two of you are going to be playing it together, your friends are duplicates all over the places, but only one remains to be true, find him or her, and the rest will die instantly, pick the wrong one, and all will die!" yelled Mr Manavi as he turns off his speaker. I was frightened, delighted, scared, happy, all at the time same. I don't know what to say, or what to do, I just stood there like I always used to, not knowing when or what will be the right time to tell my dad on how much I've missed him as he's right up my face. Just then, Tulio appeared, not one, but four of them in various directions. At this point, even the Kinzes start gathering up, and just as the duplicates started meeting each other, they begin to freak out and revolt against each other while I and my dad was caught in the middle of it, at least we didn't have any duplicates. "Tokyo.." said a Tulio only when he is grabbed into a battle by another while other one jumps right at me in a attempt to communicate to me, and to make matters worse, even the Kinzes swooped in one me while me and my dad were side by side, surrounded by multiples of duplicates by two singular person. "Friends of yours?" asked my dad. "Yeah, you could say that, though I don't know which one." I said while they attempted to communicate to me just as the Kinzes did, but it was mind breaking and almost distractive from the family reunion I was about to get. And just when I thought things couldn't get worse, the microphone of the operater turns open once again. "Looks like father and daughter are going to team up after so long, in this gracious ground of applause! ladies and gentlemen, I give you, Tokyo and Akiro Hamadhas!" yelled the operator through his microphone while millions were streaming through our cameras. Out of the many things that hit me that day, frankly, it was a little embarrassing, I know I was in the middle of a decision point where my friends will die if I choose it wrong, but if I didn't, the cameras will.. "Wait a minute, the cameras, that's it!" I thought as I immediately turned on the mic once again, and this time, the Operater was there. "Operater, are you there?" I asked towards the mic. "Yes, Tokyo, we are in, what's up? got your pappa beside you, I think?" asked the Operater in a teasing way, and I didn't have any time for that. "I need you to tell me which is the exact person I should be choosing for Kinze and Tulio?" I asked. "And how would I be telling you that? they all look so real, I'm sorry, but you're on your own this time." said the operator. "No! you i***t, the cameras, each of us are streaming in from the real camera rights? only one could be really connected, which would make them the real person." I said. "Oh, yeah right, that is the real person, well done, Tokyo, I'm proud of you." said the operator. "Enough with the catshit! just tell me where they are, from which direction are they seeing me?" I asked. "Okay, okay, Kinze's camera, yep, her one's, they're the ones closest to you, that. I can tell." said the Operater. "Where the hell is she?" asked Tokyo. "Right here! that's me, I'm still connected to the mic too." yelled a Kinze's voice from amongst the mumbling, but it was clear since I heard it from the mic as well. Just, at that second, I saw her, the real her, waving up her hand so high from amongst the crowd. Just when I hoped to catch her, a lunging tentacle emerges out from under the tunnels and grabs hold of her leg as it pulls it apart. "No! no no!" screamed Kinze while she is being pulled down once she falls down to which she gets stomped at by her very own duplicates. "I'll go get her, you find the other one." I said as I raced towards the real Kinze whilst pushing away all the duplicate ones as they continue hurdling up on me. "Tokyo, please.. help! help!" screamed Tokyo once last time right before she gets herself pulled into the very vents the tentacle that came out of, but before she is swallowed in, I took out my rifle and fired directly at the very point of where the vent was leading once I got a clear shot. It splat off like a tomato paste tearing open from the bottle, and just as I grabbed on to get hold of her, she fades away right away as my hand reaches through her. "No! no! no!" I screamed in panic whilst the real Kinze who was just a few blocks away from the real one, gets snapped away into the wall which tilts itself while the other duplicates of herself splats away, just like the tentacle I shot, but with more blood and gore. "No!" I screamed continusly just as I reached towards the wall in which she was grabbed, and while I pounded, shot, and even scrapped my knife out to get her out, I couldn't do it. "Tokyo! Tokyo please! help me! Tokyo!..." screamed Kinze from what I could tell was pure pain, and just when I thought the noise was gonna get louder, I heard the very sound of her flesh getting teared away into pieces from the walls within, and just then, everything stops, even the blood splat from all the fake Kinzes who were put to rest with a blasted off head and arms. "No! no! I was gonna get you.. I was gonna.." I cried in agony as I've dropped down while the view to me and my father became clear. "This is what happens when you choose wrong, better luck next time!" yelled Mr Manavi with his grinnish tone.
