Minjun could hear the scoff from the person on his back, he really didn’t have any idea of what to do while sitting there between Jisun and…
“Yunjin you came.” Chan greeted the person reluctantly while avoiding Minjun’s eyes. Minjun glared daggers towards Chan, because if there was someone to blame for this very-much-unwanted situation, it should be Chan. If he had known Yunjin had to join this movie club, Minjun would have registered himself with the librarian instead. Even if he wasn’t too fond of reading stuff, it would be way better than this.
“Of course. What else would I be here then?”
“Cool!” It was Jisun this time and Minjun couldn’t really help but to frown at the oblivious boy too. “Let’s have a short chat first so we can get to know each other.”
Amazing. Minjun wanted to f*****g scream. Disclaimer, he had been acting like this not because he was insecure or that he had tried to avoid meeting Yunjin. While it was not the best option to face him at any time, Minjun was not the one who would cower down just because he met the person he hated. He would definitely and confidently puff out his chest to show that he was never afraid of them. Including Yunjin. But Jisun and other students in this room were present, and the least Minjun wanted was the unnecessary attention. He also didn’t need his problem to become some public’s interest.
“You don’t know me?”
“Uh…” Jisun looked troubled by the question and didn’t know what to answer. The guy even cast a quick glance at Minjun before giving the person behind him an apologetic smile.
“Okay, but I still can’t believe you didn't know me when I knew you’re the Han Jisun.”
It caught not only Jisun’s attention, but also Minjun’s. Well, he didn’t have any other choice either, as he was stuck in between them.
“Dude, you’re literally a hot topic every lunch time among the girls.” Minjun, with his back still facing Yunjin, felt the presence was getting closer to his backside. Yunjin probably leaned his body forwards as he put his left hand on the table as a support. “Almost equal to me, I have to admit.”
Oh my f*****g God! Yes, only God knew how much willpower Minjun had to muster to hold himself still at that last sentence the bastard just said. Minjun was never a fan of that bullshit confidence Yunjin had. Or his extreme obsession with competition towards anything.
Jisun let out a small ah and nodded his head shortly, in acknowledgement, but didn’t bother to give that information his interest.
“And you too, of course, Minjun hyung. You really think I can’t recognize you?” Yunjin almost whispered into his ear. His sentence was full of mocking-tone. Thank God, Minjun had a really nice reflex and succeeded in dodging his head away.
And that was Minjun’s last straw, he really couldn’t hold it in anymore. It was too much to be in the same room with someone you truly hate.
Minjun took a glance at Chan before he stood up abruptly blocking the space between Jisun and the… prick. It was so sudden that Jisun jumped cutely on his seat while Yunjin flapped his hands and almost fell on his ass, which Minjun thought was too bad it didn’t happen.
fucking dramatic, he thought while looking judgingly at Yunjin.
His intention was to just storm out of the room and be anywhere that was not here. He just couldn’t bear to be in the same room with Yunjin. But then Minjun realized the looks everyone was pointing at him, the confusion and curiosity.
“f**k! What the heck is your problem, damn it?” Yunjin hissed at Minjun while stroking his own chest at the prior event.
Minjun sighed heavily and ran his fingers through his hair, letting it fall in disarray. “Need to… toilet.” His words were irregular, didn’t make sense, but he didn’t care. He was being considerate to Chan and the others right now. It took so much effort for Minjun to not pull Yunjin’s collar or curse a thousand of bad words.
Forget about their past hatred towards each other. Yunjin’s rude act itself just a moment ago would be a reasonable excuse for Minjun to punch him or, in other words, give Yunjin a lesson. But he didn’t want to do that, it would only give Yunjin the satisfaction he had craved for long. Minjun just knew how that brain of his worked.
And Chan was aware of Minjun’s struggle, he knew. Minjun was grateful that at least there was still one person who understood the chaos in his heart. But he still needed to talk to Chan later.
While it was not good either to just let it pass, Chan did the thing he should do as the leader of this club.
“If you still value our seniority culture, you should know how to treat someone who's older than you, Yunjin.”
Minjun could hear Chan saying those on his way out of the room. But Minjun was not too keen to see what would happen next or how Yunjin would respond to such a reprimand. So Minjun just left the room in a hurry, hoping his legs wouldn’t trip on the way.
-----
Minjun didn’t remember how he managed to reach the toilet without even tripping on his own foot. The next thing he knew, he had already splashed the running water on his face. The cold water could somehow bring his temper down, he could breathe again. He looked at his own reflection and he hated it already. It was not because he felt ugly, of course. Heck! Not trying to be narcissistic, but Minjun was well aware of his not that bad looks. He was handsome, he knew it, and he was proud.
He hated it. Looking at how his eyes reflected in that mirror, he started to despise it more. Not physically. It was for the thing Minjun could see through those boring orbs of himself. Those feelings were hidden behind the broken window of his. The anger, raging feelings in his chest, was uncomfortable. Minjun wanted to scream or maybe rip open his chest to get rid of the ugly feelings. But he couldn’t. While it was a tempting idea to clean them, Minjun never succeeded in doing it.
Hating Yunjin was hard but also the easiest thing, super easy, to do.
It was hard to be drowned in such negative feelings, because it pulled him down too in the process. But it was an easy way out and a solution to what happened between them. To what happened last year. Both Yunjin and him deserved to be in such agonizing despair.
Minjun shook his head lightly, trying to get rid of the water that was still hanging on every edge of his hair. His breathing was a bit erratic due to the effort to hold himself back then in the club room. Looked like he would need some time to calm himself down before coming back to the club. He needed to be alone.
Minjun followed the last student on the toilet with his eyes through the mirror, so eager to watch the person finish their business and just leave the place. As soon as the last student left, Minjun took the yellow board which said, ‘Caution! Under reparation’ then placed it outside the toilet and monopolized the whole toilet with three small rooms for himself.
