Chapter 16 : The way you tell me about things.

1208 Words
Talking to Jisun was like riding a roller coaster, it did things to Minjun's heart and belly. Sometimes it leaped up his stomach, churned the blood inside then left him freezing. It felt like watching a horror or detective movie, it involved so many emotions and sometimes Minjun was a bit scared of what he would say later. Jisun was full of plot twists. He talked literally about everything. Most of the time, Minjun really enjoy Jisun's companion. It was fascinating how expressive Jisung was in collaborating his voice and expression, his body gesture. They were perfectly in sync with the story those lips uttered. And it was always so entertaining, Jisun’s story. But again you couldn't just predict what Jisun would say next. Just like now, when Minjun finally let Jisun visit his home. Not only Jisun though, of course Can would join them too. Mom and dad were not home today (to Minjun’s joy) and both Minjun and Jisun were just lazing around on the couch. Minjun was changing the TV channel when suddenly Jisun said, “I don’t have a mother.” He could never get used to the sudden change of topic. Just a few moments ago Minjun remembered that they were talking about a script for the movie competition. Then in a snap, Jisun was talking about anything else as if what they were talking before was only in Minjun's mind. Minjun believed it was sympathy when he felt a painful tug in his chest after Jisun said that unexpected ‘information’. He could never imagine losing mom at a very young age. But it wasn’t the end of it yet. “You don’t have to be sorry hyung. At least I have two dads to my rescue. They’re great.” The senior frowned, another surprise. Two fathers? After a while, Minjun got what the latter meant. It was the first time Minjun heard this especially here, in the society. Same s*x relationship was nothing new, Minjun even knew some people from the racing community have it either. But a family with two fathers or two mothers? That was just new in Minjun’s ear. “But I remember you said you have a brother.” Jisun smiled at him, “We both were adopted.” Minjun never thought that anyone from his circle would have that part of story life. He nearly begged Jisun to stop with the sad story because he started feeling uncomfortable within his chest. But while Minjun had a hard time processing the side story of his junior, Jisun gave him the sincerest and happiest smile instead. “You really dropped it… like a bomb. I’m not prepared.” “Hahaha, is it that shocking?” Minjun shrugged his shoulders, he didn’t know how to react or answer at this point. He was scared of hurting Jisun’s feelings too. As ignorant as he might be with what he said, Minjun was starting to care about it when he was talking with Jisun. “Which one? the fact that I was adopted or me having two dads?” But the younger one really talked about it as if it was not as devastating as how Minjun felt about it. Being adopted, wasn’t it a sad thing? The thought of how our biological parents didn’t wish for our existence. Wasn’t it a terrifying realization? “Well, it’s not something that you will find often…?” Jisun nodded. “Is it weird you out though?” “Huh?” “The way that I have two dads.” Now he looked kind of worried. Minjun had always found it hard to trust people, about literally everything, he was scared of disappointment. So when Jisun shared this part of his story to him, he just knew how hard it must be for Jisun to muster up the courage to tell him about this. He wanted to appreciate it, support it and if possible, make Jisun feel better about himself. “No no no, Jisun it’s not like that. It is uncommon, yes. But I don’t see any problem. It’s… kinda cool actually.” One thing Minjun tried to never do was sugar coating his opinion about others. To him it was not far from lies, and he hoped Jisun could feel how he meant every word he just said. “Is it?” “Yeah, definitely.” “Don’t pity me. I’m grateful about my life.” “I don't pity you.” Minjun looked at Jisun dead in the eyes, slowly but surely being drowned by it. He always thought that the latter’s eyes were big, but Minjun kind of wanted to take it back. Those orbs, the eyelashes, and the way they fluttered everytime he was unsure about something. All of it, no matter big or small, bothered Minjun. “But I feel like I wanna hug you.” Minjun didn’t pity Jisun, he simply sympathized with him. “That… I won’t refuse.” They laughed. They sat side by side on Minjun’s coach, with Lee Sugeun’s jokes and audience’s laughter coming from the TV added to the ambiance. But he didn't hug Jisun in the end though. Supposedly, they were camping at Chan’s house today, but just this afternoon the guy said that it was impossible this time, also that he’d be late for the session. Chan didn’t explain the reason why so Minjun wouldn’t ask further. "Hyung…" "Hmm?" Minjun smiled at Jisun. "I'm hungry." "Hahaha again?" Minjun gave the remote to Jisun. "Alright, lemme check if we have something in the kitchen." Then he left Jisun alone in the living room while he was heading to the kitchen, looking for something to feed Jisun. Initially they would just go to the library, but Minjun suggested another idea on a whim, his house. Which Jisun agreed on immediately. Well, the only reason Minjun thought that this was a good idea was because neither mom or dad would be home until tomorrow. So here they were, in Minjun’s house, passing the time to wait for Chan by watching TV or maybe they should try nNetflix to find something more interesting. "Such a big house for a small family." Minjun turned around abruptly to find Jisun standing on the kitchen's doorway. "Hei, I didn't hear you come." Minjun turned back again and looked into the fridge to find something to eat before Jisun interrupted. "You really alone here, hyung?" "Ah no, Aunt Jo and Uncle Park were somewhere around." He backed to the fridge, inspecting the red thing inside the plastic. What the hell is that thing? "Then why don't you just ask them?" "Hehehe too much work. It'll be easier if I do it alone." Jisun hummed, he probably nodded too. "So, have you found anything?" "Uh… that's the problem.” Minjun scratched the back of his head down to the nape and smiled sheepishly at Jisun. Pointing his thumb to the fridge that was now on his back. “This fridge is full of something that I don't know how to cook." "Ah…" “But I have kimchi, so maybe we can make-” Jisun chuckled. "It's okay hyung, let's just order something." Minjun nodded, it was a better idea.
