First Day
I woke to my alarm clock going off. I checked the time. 4a.m. Plenty of time to get ready for the first day of school and get the housework done and breakfast on the table. Or so I thought. As I made my way upstairs to the omega bathroom, I was lost in a daydream that maybe this year would be different. This year I’d make some friends. I was dumb to allow myself to daydream about such foolish things. I knew it, but I couldn’t help it. Hey, a girl can dream, right? I showered quickly and slipped on a pair of black jeans with a black and white t-shirt my Chuck Taylors and my mom’s old leather jacket. I made my way up the stairs to start cleaning the spare rooms that were not being occupied. I had to make sure everything was ready for the visiting packs that would be attending Brandon’s party in a few days. After making sure all the bedrooms were prepared for the arrival of the pack’s I double-checked the Alpha King’s room to make sure it was extra special. I added a welcome note to his pillow and left his favorite snacks and drinks in the mini-fridge next to his bed. Double checking that it was fully stocked. I also double-checked the liquor bar set up in his room to make sure it was also stocked and ready for his arrival. He was coming early because he wanted to get a good look around the territory and to visit the high school. The school had students from neighboring packs and as King, he wanted to make sure everything was good with the school. After making sure everything was set and ready to go, I hurried downstairs to start making breakfast for the pack. I started making biscuits and sausage gravy from scratch. I made homemade waffles and French toast, bacon, eggs, and hash browns. I had placed all the food on the buffet-style table we had in the dining room and had started cleaning the kitchen when I was hit in the head with something solid. I turned to see who was there. Roxanne and her friends were standing in the corner laughing. “Aww, are you going to cry now?” Roxanne taunted me. She always did, but like many times before I didn’t cry. I never cried. I would never let them see that what they did affected me. I refused to give her that satisfaction. I smiled at her and handed her the drink I had just prepared. She frowned down at it before dumping it on my head. She starts laughing again. “Looks like you need another shower. You missed a spot. Better hurry. You’ll be late for the first day of school. We are meeting in the auditorium for a speech from the Alpha King. I don’t think he would take too kindly to tardiness.” I rang out my long blonde hair before turning to head back down to my room for a change of clothes bumping right into Brandon as I turned. “Ewww. Dirty much. Go clean yourself up. You’re getting your omega funk everywhere.” Out of everyone who bullied me Brandon hurt the most. Growing up we had been best friends. We used to play Dragons in the tree house behind the pack house one day though everything changed. I never could understand why he went from being my best friend one day to hating me the next. Frowning I hurried to my room finding a black tank top and a black hoodie. I found my second favorite pair of jeans and my converses since my Chuck Taylors needed to dry out. I headed back to the shower. I made sure to lock the door behind me. I slipped into the shower letting a single tear fall. That’s all I ever did. I let one tear fall and never in front of them. I washed my hair to get the sticky drink out of it. After I had cleaned up, I got dressed in a rush and made my way to the school. I hurried up the steps waiting for the doors to open. Thank Goddess I wasn’t late. Unknown point of view: I looked up as a flash of blonde hair and blue eyes darted in front of my car. She was gorgeous. She had to be at least 16. She made her way up the school steps to stand with the rest of the students. I watched a girl with Raven Black hair push her back a bit. “You're too close to me peasant.” I heard the girl say to the blonde beauty. This made me angry for reasons I did not understand. I felt drawn to this girl, but not in like a mate way; however, if she wasn’t yet 18 it would explain the pull but not necessarily the mate bond yet as she was too young still. Still, I wanted to protect her from anything and everything. I climbed out of my car and just watched her from a distance till she disappeared into the building. Stormy's POV “Everyone gather in, please. Please take your seats. Our King has a few words for us.” “Hello Student’s, I am Luca. I will be on campus for the next few days. If there is anything that you feel need’s to be brought to my attention, please seek me out. You’re all dismissed to class.” Everyone filed out of the auditorium to homeroom. As I walked into Mrs. Junipers' homeroom class, I could already tell this year was not going to be different as I had hoped. I didn’t understand why Brandon hated me. As I went to sit at the only open desk in the room the chair was pulled out from under me, and I landed on my bottom. Great. That’s going to leave a bruise. I grabbed the chair from the boy who had moved it and took my seat. I placed my head on my desk. Already I was ready for this day to be over. A knock on the classroom door made me lookup. “Can we see Stormy please?” My face paled as I saw the principal of the school and another man standing next to him. I rose from my seat and followed the men out into the hall. “Stormy this is Robert. The Alpha King’s beta. They are concerned that you are being bullied. I explained to them that we don’t tolerate bullying here and that there is no way that a student is being bullied. Am I right?” The look the principal gave me told me if I told the truth I would be done for. The beta also noticed the look and frowned. “Yes, sir. That is correct. I am not being bullied.” I lowered my eyes to the ground. Robert spoke up. “Either way. You will join me for lunch this afternoon.” “Yes sir.” I made my way back into the room. All eyes were on me as I took my seat. The rest of the day went by in a haze. I barely remembered lunch with the Royal Beta. I made my way back to the pack house. The long walk back always gave me time to think and clear my head and put on a fake smile for the Alpha and Luna. Always fake a smile. That was what I told myself all the time. Never let them see you hurt. Unknown person’s point of view: The blonde beauty cut through the wood’s heading back to the pack house. She seemed so innocent. I felt my heart tug as I watched her departure into the woods. I wanted to keep her safe, but I also didn’t want to scare her and think I was a creepy stalker. I ordered my driver to head into town. I needed to pick up something for the blonde-haired beauty that had captivated my mind. Something about her innocence drew me in. I picked up an emerald, green silk sash ribbon necklace. In the center, a crystal star dangled from the silky sash ribbon. It was the perfect gift for my little blue-eyed angel. Making my way back to the pack house my mind was filled with thoughts of the blue-eyed blonde that I felt compelled to protect. After finding out where her room was, I stood in her doorway. This room was unacceptable. It was more like a prison cell. A small single bed dominated the corner of the room. A small dresser was placed on the other wall. A nightstand with a small lamp was the only source of light. I hated to think of her in this room. I left the small box on her pillow with a letter that said. “Thank you for taking such good care of my room.” And quickly left the room. I just knew that gift would bring a smile to her face.
