CHAPTER ONE
Vampires!, they were only believed to have existed in ancient times instilling fear and intimidation in the humans, they were believed to have caused calamity to the humans and some still even believe that they still exist to until now, I never believed that they existed, not until i came across one in the very heart of London. Its's a day I'll forever live to remember and you'll never know about it unless I drive into the story.

It was raining heavily and I walked hastily down the lane with my umbrella hanging steadily over my head, I was just returning from my place of work as I had worked overtime for more income, it wasn't very pleasant but I had to work to survive, that was the thought in my mind when I ran into a group of thugs just by an alley close by, one of them was tossing a pocketknife about his fingers and then the others were glaring at me, as I made to pass by the group one man came out of the alley and my heart skipped a beat, he was a seven footer with a long deadly drawing down from his left ear and down to his cheeks and he was grinning wickedly,
"We don't want to hurt you, just give us what we want," the seven footer said with a gentle voice that pierced me like spears, knowing what they wanted I searched through my bag with fear searching for the only money on me, then I brought out a few squeezed notes and handed it over, the seven footer scanned the notes with his eyes and growled
"What is this?, this is not enough not in the least"
"But that's all I have" I replied honestly,
"You know fully well how little this is" the seven footer said looking at the notes like they would tell him what to do next,
"Let her pay up with something else" the one with the pocket knife said coming foward,
"Pay up with your body, there's nothing as good as an old nights fun" the seven footer said, just then a dark Tesla drove past us and 8 yelled at the driver for help but he didn't stop, then the seven footer laughed heartily and said,
"This is London nobody is going to help you out, besides we are well known around this parts" then he grabbed my wrist and we began to struggle, soon I realized that no help was coming up until the dark Tesla drove up to us and I started yelling for help, to my relief two men came out of the car and the large rouge let me go,
"Who are they?" The seven footer asked frowning, he probably didn't expect the driver to have come back,
"I'm not sure but whoever they are they must be rich, we might see something to take from them" the rouge with the pocketknife said grinning mischievously, after the rouge had said this, three decent men walked out of the car, leaving the driver and another man sitting in the car, I didn't need any prophecy to know that the young man in the back was the owner of the car, then I watched as he walked out of the car smiling,
"Look, you all look like decent young men, you shouldn't be involved in all this" I said trying to sound brave,
"The lady is right, we don't want to hurt you" the seven footer said stepping forward to meet with the men,
"You're the ones who are going to get hurt, not us," the young man said, smiling confidently,
"What is he talking about?" The man with the pocketknife asked, just at that moment the men ran forward and they, clashed against the thugs, it was a very ugly scene for me as I watched the incident unfold before my eyes, but then as I stole a quick glance at my saviour I saw that he was enjoying every part of the event, since his men were gaining the upper hand against the thugs I had nothing to fear, realizing that I was no longer in danger I eased up my defense and watched the fight ina more relaxed state, looking back at the men I saw that lots of blood had been shed. "I can't thank you enough" I said to the young man who had saved my life from being completely destroyed by those thugs who had claimed that the money I had given to them wasn't enough,
"You don't have to be so grateful, it's the least I can do for someone in need" he said flashing a warm smile at me,
"Anyways I'm Emily Carter and thanks once again" I said trying my best to sound polite,
"I'm Michael Rodriguez and you're welcome" he said flashing another warm smile at me, but then there was something about him that I couldn't place a finger on,
"Are you okay? You look worried" he said with sympathy in his voice,
"I'm fine, just getting irritated by the look of things" I replied staring down at the heap of groaning men who were once tigers that I had feared,
"Get into the car I'll drop you off" he said without caution,
"You don't have to, I can walk, I've caused you so much stress" I said objecting to his suggestion,
"You owe me you know, get into the car I'll drop you off" he insisted, I had just met with him so I couldn't have guessed that he could have been so adamant, without objecting I got into the car and he entered after me and shut the door after him, then I sighed with relief as the driver drove away.
There was complete silence in the car as I and Michael drove on through the dark streets of London, who could have guessed that I would have met a savior like no other on a day like this, it was completely outstanding, I wondered what my brother would say when he found out that a rich young man had saved me on my way home,
"So, what do you do for a living?" Michael asked breaking into my thoughts,
"I work as a Nurse" I replied fiddling with my fingers nervously, I never expected an interrogation from him,
"Then why were you walking down the street at such an odd hour" he asked, I could see the confusion in his face, he would never understand my predicament and current situation, he wouldn't understand that the lady in his car was nothing but a peasant and the daughter of a murderer, he wouldn't understand that one day I became motherless because of my father, he wouldn't understand why I and my elder brother had to run away from home, he wouldn't understand why for many years we were hided away by my aunt, and he wouldn't understand why I allowed my aunt's husband to maltreat me, and he would never understand why I kept so many dark secrets to heart,
"Why are you so quite?" He asked staring deeply into my face, he looked innocent and compassionate, he looked like someone who was oblivious of the world's wickedness and evil, to my relief the car came to a halt at a large beautiful mansion,
"I guess this is my stop, till we meet again" he said walking out of the car, his dark suit gleaming in the moonlight, then he closed the door and waved happily, then I replied with a smile and the car zoomed off again as I directed the driver to my destination.

I wiped a speckle of dirt from my shoulder and knocked on the door which was immediately opened by my worried brother,
"What took you so long?" He asked taking my little bag from me and helping me sit,
"I got into trouble again" I replied stretching a little,
"You're always getting into trouble" my brother retorted and I replied almost immediately saying, "it wasn't my fault that the thugs stopped me"
"Well how did you escape it?" My brother asked curiously,
"A rich young man helped me out, his men trashed the thugs with ease"
I responded, "I shall be seeing him tomorrow to show my gratitude" I said this and walked to bed.
