Chapter 1- New town : Luna Bay

"Here this is your key to your new house." The broker said with a smile on his face.
I took the keys from his hand after thanking him. I reached into my carry-on for my wallet and handed him the money. Taking a deep breath, I unlocked the door and pushed it open. My hands trembled from nervous excitement when I grabbed the handle of my biggest suitcase and rolled it into the apartment.
My new home.
"This house sucks." My little brother Ben spoke after pouting for several minutes.
"I know this house is nothing like our old one but it was the best cheap house we could get in such a little time," I said in a comforting tone.
"Don't worry, with your help I will make this place as beautiful as our old one," I spoke again.
"I didn't know that you knew magic," Ben replied sarcastically.
I ignored his comment and went to explore the apartment, and so did Ben.
The first room that I found was the kitchen, it was in good shape as compared to the rest of the house. At the end of the hall was a flight of stairs. I ran upstairs. There were two bedrooms upstairs with an attached bathroom. Ben already chose his. I didn't fight with him as finally, he liked one thing in this house. I went to the other room which will be mine. The room was small but warm and cosy. I looked out the window of my future room. The outside scenery was filled with trees of the jungle. I looked down from the window and saw a garden which had turned into a mini forest. I made a mental note to clean the garden later.
I went to check up on Ben. I found him crying. "Why are you crying? This house is not that bad." I asked humorously.
"It was all my fault. I always put you in problems. You have to leave the town immediately because of me. I am a very bad brother." He said while sobbing.
"Listen Ben it wasn't completely your fault. I was at fault too because I had failed you as your guardian. You are just fourteen years old and kids do all kinds of silly mistakes. So, stop blaming yourself and start our fresh life here in this wretched house." My last remark brought a smile to his face.
"So, you agreed that this house sucks," Ben said.
"Yeah, but don't worry I will keep looking for the new house but for now we have to work on this to make it suitable for us to live in. Now get up cry baby we have a lot to do," I said, trying to change the mood.
And it worked. We first finished our lunch that I had packed before coming here. It took us a whole evening to prepare only two bedrooms. It was a smart decision to start with bedrooms as we wore out so much that all we needed was a nice bed to crash in.
While laying down on the bed I started searching for nearby jobs. Ben was busy with his phone in his room. I warned him not to tell his old friends about our whereabouts. I didn't know when I fell asleep. Ben woke me up. I looked at my wristwatch it was 8 p.m.
"Should we go outside for dinner or you are going to cook something," Ben asked when he saw
that I was awake.
"I am in no position to make something...Let's go out." I replied and went to the bathroom.
"I am waiting for you downstairs," Ben shouted out from the bedroom.
"Where should we go for dinner?" I asked Ben who was waiting for me in the driving seat of the truck.
"There is a restaurant about half an hour from here. It's not fancy but good." Ben replied while looking down at his phone. When he looked up I signalled him to move to the passenger side.
"Please let me drive...Back in the town, my friend taught me how to drive. Please." Ben said with a puppy face. But I was not falling for that.
"You will get to drive when you celebrate your eighteenth birthday. Till then just enjoy being chauffeured around." I stated firmly ignoring his pleading eyes. He obediently followed my instructions.
So, let's go.
