Jaclyn's POV
“Lisa, are you sure this isn’t too much?” I said, looking down at myself.
Lisa helped me pick out a white dress with long sleeves. It came to my mid thigh and on the right side it had a slit that went up the side about 3 inches. I had brown boots that came to my knees. She helped me to put a small wave in my hair.
“Are you kidding me? You look freaking HOT!”
I turned and looked in the mirror. “ OK, I do look hot.” I said, giggling.
“Well get going. You don’t want to be late.” I hugged her goodbye and headed back to my dorm.
I was back for about 15 minutes before there was a knock at my door. I opened my door to see Logan with a single red rose. “WOW! You look amazing Jaclyn.” He hands me the rose and kisses me on the cheek.
“Thank you. You look very handsome.”
He helped me with my jacket and we headed out. I assumed we were going to take my car but as we got outside into the cold crisp air, I saw a black town car. As we walked up to the car, the driver opened the door.
“It’s my Dad’s car service. I hope you don’t mind,” he says.
“Not at all, but I could have driven.”
He smiled. “I know, but I wanted to be able to have you focus on me.”
“You are silly.”
A short drive later, the car came to a stop and the driver opened the door. Logan placed his hand on the small of my back and led me into the restaurant. It was really fancy. I began to feel uncomfortable.
After talking to the hostess, we walked towards the back of the restaurant and we took an elevator up to the top floor. We were then ushered towards the back of the room and seated in front of a huge window overlooking the entire city. It was stunning.
“Do you like it?”
“Like it? Logan, it’s amazing.”
The waiter brought us the wine list. I looked at Logan and realized, despite us spending hours together talking, there was still a lot about each other we didn’t know. I knew he was old enough to drink, but I had no want to drink.
“I would love an ice tea please.” Logan looked at me and smiled.
He looked at the waiter and said “Make that two.”
As soon as the waiter left, I looked at Logan. “You didn’t need to get tea because of me.”
“To be honest. I stopped drinking at the start of the semester a month ago. I failed a class I needed to graduate because I was too hung over half the time to get to class. So I stopped drinking, but it was still hard being in the frat house. I mean it is a non-stop party house.”
Dinner was amazing. I had an amazing time with Logan. He told me how he was working to take over his Dad’s company. It has been his dream to run the company since he was 4 years old.
He also told me how it was hard to even get into relationships because of his family and what is expected from him. Turns out his family expected him to marry a woman of a certain status. I wanted to ask why we were even on a date together but he quickly pushed it off. Saying he could do what he wanted. I wanted to ask about Liam and his fiancé but I figured it was not the right time.
“Come on, I have another stop on this date planned.” He took my hand and headed to the coat check.
As we were leaving, waiting for our coat check to bring us our jackets and in walked Liam with a stunning woman on his arm. She looked like she had walked out of a magazine. Her auburn hair curled to perfection and her make-up looked like a professional had done it for her.
“Logan....Jaclyn.” was all Liam said as he looked at us both in surprise.
“Hey Liam and Ella,” Logan said and turned to me and motioned toward Ella. “Jaclyn, this is Ella Liam’s finance. And Ella, this is Jaclyn, my beautiful date.”
I felt myself blush. “Hi Ella it’s nice to meet you.”
She smiled and genuinely said, “Oh it is so nice to meet you too! Liam talks about you all the time. I swear if it wasn’t for you I would never get to see my finances.”
“It’s nice to finally meet you too.” Even though I only found out about you yesterday.
“Well, I am going to steal my date. Have a good night.” With that, Logan helped me with my jacket and we left the building.
“I hope dinner didn’t wear you out. I have another surprise.”
Like a giddy little girl, I couldn’t hold back my excitement. “I don’t know if I will be able to sleep tonight. I am so excited.”
He laughed again. I love hearing Logan laugh.
“Good cause I don’t want tonight to end.” He said softly as his arm slipped around my waist and I snuggled into his chest.
After awhile, we arrived at an observatory. We entered the building and were led into a room. There was a telescope and a blanket set up near the telescope. In the middle of the blanket were some chocolate-covered strawberries and sparkling grape juice.
Logan wrapped his arms around me. “Don’t worry, no alcohol. Come, let’s look at the stars.”
It was very romantic. After looking at the stars, we laid down on the blanket and the observatory opened the ceiling and there was a glass dome. The snow had started to fall and it was beautiful.
I did’t mean to, but I whispered “Best first date ever.”
“I’m glad,” he whispered back.
He placed his hand on my cheek and looked from my eyes to my lips. Not meaning to, I ran my tongue across my bottom lip. It happened in a blink and his lips were on mine. He ran his tongue across my lips asking for entrance and I happily allowed him access. His hand rested on my upper thigh.
When we finally pulled away from each other, he rested his forehead on mine. “That was amazing.” He said as he placed light kisses all over my face and down my neck before kissing me again. We laid there a while longer and continued to kiss. Unfortunately, our night had to come to an end.
As we drove back to the dorms, I looked over at Logan but couldn’t help but wonder what it would have been like if Alpha Jayson had accepted our bond. But as quickly as the thought crossed my mind, I pushed it out.
Logan kissed my hand. “What are you thinking about?”
“Nothing important. I had a really great time tonight. Thank you.”
Without saying anything, he leaned over and started kissing me again.
By the time we got to my dorm room, I realized how late it was, but I didn’t want the night to end. Logan again kissed me. “I will see you in the morning. Sweet dreams.”
I entered my room and gave him a quick kiss. “You too.”
“I will be dreaming of you.”
I rolled my eyes and smiled. “Good Night.” Shutting my door, I reached for my phone and messaged Lisa telling her I would call in the morning with details.
I changed and crawled into bed with Logan on my mind but not fully. Even as I drifted off to sleep, Jayson came to my mind. What is wrong with me?
Logan’s POV
Making my way back to my room, I felt happy for the first time in years. I pushed open my door to find Liam sitting on my bed.
“Hey Liam, it’s almost 2 in the morning. What are you doing here?”
“How was your date?” He slurred.
“Dude, are you wasted? You look like s**t. How did you get here?”
“How was your date?” He slurred again.
I ran my hand over my face. “It was great. I really like her. She is so different from other girls.”
“She is different from all other girls.” He said, dropping his head into his hands. “Just treat her good. This was her first date.”
“I know she mentioned that when she didn’t think I was listening,” I said with a smile on my lips, remembering her face as she said it.
Liam went to stand up and stumbled. I helped him into bed. “Come on Liam, let’s get you to bed.”
He started to mumble. “It should have been me. I want to make her happy. I think I love her.”
I finished helping him to bed. We will be having a long conversation in the morning. He was getting married. He couldn’t be having these kinds of feelings for Jaclyn. I crawled into my bed running his words through my head. Man, I really hope I misheard him.
