AS I got closer to the mansion, I could feel some pain. It’s not as bad as the previous pain I’ve felt, but it’s there. I knocked on the door, and when the door opened, I saw Aliyah with Jared’s hand on her shoulder. I froze for a moment before clearing my throat and saying, “Uhm, good morning.”
Aliyah smiled and looked pleased to see me.
Aliyah: “Kara, hi. It’s nice to see you.”
Aliyah: “It’s nice to see you too.”
I then turned to look at Jared and said, “Can we talk? About the farm and the audit?”
I didn’t want Aliyah to think that I was there for any reason other than the farm. I don’t know why I felt the need to be defensive, though. I am only there to meet with Derrick about the farm anyway.
