Chris J. Anderson had never felt so humiliated before. He couldn't understand what had brought him to this situation, there were about four security guards escorting him to his desk to remove his things, an illogical measure for his consideration. What had he done to deserve such treatment? He had just had a disagreement with his ex-girlfriend, but she did not deserve this kind of behavior.
He only raised his hand to her. It was absurd that they believed that little b***h instead of him, if only it hadn't been Mr. Hallan, who had found them, you could tell he was completely in love with the little b***h, she used the men around her to her advantage. She flirted with the boss when she was sleeping with another guy who even slept in his house.
The looks from the staff were the hardest thing the man thought. All those gossipers watched as he packed his things, some even smiled, he hoped those sons of bitches would rot in hell, he didn't care about this look job, he had gotten enough experience to get hired at another company, that was it. He would make a couple of calls and by the afternoon he would have a job.
He left the building feeling annoyed. He almost got pushed in the door and could hear the men talking among themselves not to let him back in by order of management. He felt like a piece of garbage because of those idiots, he would get his revenge when he was making millions of dollars.
Now was his chance to show him how wrong they were. I got to a nearby cafe, so I could call some of my friends to give me a chance. Some had offered me a job before and I turned them down because they didn't have the same prestige as that i***t Harley's company, but any company would be lucky to have me.
—Hello— I heard from the other side.
—Hi, I'm Chris Anderson. We talked a few days ago about a job offer you made me...— I was trying to sound casual —I wanted to tell you that I'm going to take it after I consider it— the man on the other end of the line seemed surprised to receive the call.
—You told me you weren't interested because we weren't paying enough, they didn't kick you out, did they?— They had been friends too long to know that Chris was interested.
—No, what are you talking about? Who would kick me out? But I broke up with my girlfriend and I don't want to see her in the office anymore, plus I want a change of scenery, you know...— While Chris was waiting for an answer, the man on the other end of the phone received an email from Hallan Corporation where they said they had fired Chris J. Anderson for assaulting one of their employees and for fraudulent actions in the company, the man salivated.
-I don't think we can give you the opportunity," the man stated and hung up.
The communiqué sent by Harley from his business mail was reaching any company in town. Soon it would be all uproar, no one would approach this man if they knew what was good for them. He also sent the mug shot to those members of the pack who had some kind of business. He told them the situation and told them that he was a guy of high interest for the pack, because he had challenged the authority of the alpha heirs.
Chris was confused, staring at his phone, but he didn't give up.
He called again and again.
—Hi, this is Chris— they hung up.
—Hi, I know we haven't spoken, but we were very close in college and I wanted to ask you to help me— the next question was his name, —I'm Chris Anderson—they hung up.
He didn't understand why he couldn't get a couple of words across before he was sent down the tube. He felt that the frustration was joining his body, he ran his hand through his hair. Feeling frustrated, he asked for a couple of coffees. He went one by one to the contacts in his address book. He hoped that some of his friends would give him a chance. He was beginning to feel that he would not get a job in his branch, but he just needed some money.
—Hello?
—James please don't hang up, you're talking to Chris, please, please brother, I'm having a shitty day— the man had read Harley Hallan's mail and felt sorry for his friend, he couldn't be completely sure of the information they sent him, but having an enemy of that caliber was something he couldn't do.
—What do you want?
—I'll tell you the truth, I was fired today.
—I know, and I think the whole city knows it too— those words were like a bucket of cold water for Chris, he had the doubt of what could happen —We got a mail with the details, I don't know, what you did and honestly I don't care, but you have made a very powerful enemy, if we received it then all the big companies did it- that made him feel very sad.
—What are you talking about? A mail?
—That man is in love with my ex-girlfriend- He was very worried that terrible things would be rumored about him, because he wouldn't be able to get a job.
—It's not my problem man, talk to Harley Hallan then, because no one in town will be attracted to give you a job and now I have to go, man— the sound of the empty line made me feel very sad.
A call came to me quickly, my mother.
Her name sent a shiver down my spine.
—Mom, hi, I'm kind of busy right now," I tried to sound serious.
—Yes? Completely unemployed? -Her voice was hysterical at the last part, "What the f**k did you do to get fired? Mary from the church called me to tell me that her son told her about this embarrassing letter that he sent a mailer, to tell everyone that they shouldn't hire him because you were a f*****g woman abuser.
So that was it, the man did this for the f*****g b***h.
—Mom, mom, listen to me, it's not like that.
—What the f**k did you do?
—Nothing, I just went to talk to my b***h's ex-girlfriend, and the b***h exaggerated everything. My boss is a f*****g i***t, he has a crush on her, so out of jealousy he sent that f*****g email— I tried to excuse myself. If my mom calmed down it would be easier for everything to be fixed, Chris thought.
—He sounds like a stupid son. We can't allow someone like that to hurt us, because he damages your reputation. I'll call the lawyers to sue him for defamation— that was a warning sign.
—No, don't do that.
—Why not?
—Because it's Harley Hallan, you have to think things through.
