The next big hurdle for Alex was to venture outside his apartment with Elsa, in harness, guiding him through the streets of London. Fortunately, Kate would be accompanying them until she was satisfied that Elsa was proficient enough to leave them on their own. The main problem was that Alex knew little of London streets and, even more important, the area in which he now lived. Fortunately, Paul had anticipated this problem and had installed satellite navigation software with speech output on his mobile phone. A particularly useful feature was that as he moved from one location to another, the street name would be announced.
