Alex found it difficult to sleep, but, at least, he was rested, when all officers were called to prepare for the assault. Jen was not the only female officer. She and three others were issued with the same dark tunic as the men. Black and light in weight, the suits were reinforced with Kevlar. This super-strong material was also used in the headgear, giving the wearer maximum protection.
Even Elsa wore a Kevlar-reinforced suit and headgear, giving her an unusual, almost supernatural appearance. Alex was uncertain about Elsa’s feelings in wearing this strange suit, but, at least, her tail was still wagging, which was always a good sign.
