CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVEN I got home late last night. Blondie and the kids were already in bed, but my bride left dinner for me in the oven. She made chicken and noodles, one of my favorites, but I didn't eat a whole lot. After dinner, I rummaged through a cupboard and found a half-empty bottle off of Scotch. I poured two fingers, added water, and went into the living room to sit down and think things over. I must have been tired, because I fell asleep and didn't wake up until after 4:00 AM. Blondie will be waking up in two hours and be busy fixing breakfast. Then she and the children will go to church. I fire up the percolator and soon have coffee.
