The Lost Mate

Chapter 16: The Next Move

-Third Person Point Of View-

It has been a few more months that has passed. Soul, Zack, and Bryan have barely made any progress on getting closer to the mansion. The warriors on the enemy side have decrease but the number of rouges have increased. They need to figure out how so many rouges are coming still. The moon as set and the sun is rising as the warriors go back to their campsites to rest and come up with better plans. Soul had sent in a spy to look out for where the mother was and had orders to stay away from Jones and Damien if he is spotted. The spy was covered in the blood of an enemy wolf to descize his scent from the enemies. His orders was to come back before the next moon rise. 

Soul, Zack, and Bryan wait in their captains tent resting. They all have bad wounds but not bad enough to stop them from fighting. Soul growled in frustration the fact that Jones and Damien are such cowards having their rouges and warriors do the work and not fight with them. 

In the distance a the Red Mind Pack Mansion Jones grows frustrated as how close the three packs has gotten to his mansion. Damien has been urging to go out and join the battle but Jones has been holding him back because he has a plain. He is waiting for the three alphas to be extremely weak and then he will send out Damien as bate to get the Alphas to follow him into the mansion and Jones will kill them all even Damien. At first Jones didn't mind Damien but the fact how insane he is becoming about Iris and killing Soul it is driving Jones mad that he is holding back from killing Damien any second now. Jones also has a secret plan that is going along well. Since all three of the Alphas are on his territory he has sent a few rouges out to the Nightmare Moon Pack territory to retrieve Iris again. Sadly it is taking too long for Jones patients that he is going to stick with his first plan.

Soul growls wanting to contact his mate but the distance is too much and he is too weak to use his mind linking. He needs all the strength he can get for this next battle. 

"Okay so we are going to put on a full head on attack to the doors of the mansion. Once we get through I will send Tracy and Mike to go find the mother and we will need to retreat we are too weak and out numbered to face Jones and Damien right now. We wait while the sun will set to hear back from the spy to find out where the mother is at. We only give them enough time to get her and we get out." Said Soul, Zack and Bryan growled lowly. "I know I don't like this plan of retreating but it's all we have. We need to get back to the Nightmare Moon Pack territory, I can see if any neighboring packs will lend in any help. We have to pull back our forces. I sense something is not right that allour weak and wounded warriors are at the territory defenceless." There was silence. Zack and Bryan look at each other then nod looking at Soul. "You are right. We need to get back to the Nightmare Moon Territory. I can contact my sister's alpha to see if he will join us in battle. I know he will want something out of it and I will do what it takes. I believe if we give out the information that if Jones takes down our packs their packs are next." Stated Zack, Bryan would agree with him. "I will do the same and ask my brother that mated with the old alpha's daughter and see if he will join us. He is the new alpha of that pack and I know he owes me a favor." All three stood up at once. "Then its settled we get the mother and retreat to the my pack territory and inform our neighbor packs for help. Now lets rest up and inform our warriors of our plan." All three would leave the tent. Soul went to his warriors as Zack and Bryan went to theirs to give out the plan. 

-The Sun Starts To Set-

Everyone is getting into their positions as Soul, Zack, and Bryan waited for the spy to return, Tracy and Mike with Soul so that when the spy returns they can get started on their part of the plan. Warriors start to turn into their wolf forms then a small wolf comes running up to the Alphas. Turning back to normal was a junior warrior a female that was descized as a maid she was bruised and seem to be beaten which pissed Soul off. He had a nurse take her after they had gotten the information they needed. "Okay Tracy and Mike the mother is on the second floor on the room to the left, no guards are watching her room. The spy said there is a secret passage way from that room to the back of the woods. Take that passage and once you get into the woods make sure to give off the special howl. Do not stop until you make it back to the pack territory." Soul looks at two of his warriors that were walking up to him. "You two start getting the campsite packed up and the nurses and wounded back to the pack territory there won't be much time so be quick. Take any vehicles that are left to help get back quicker. Make sure everyone is in the mansion and the gates are closed until we arrive back." The two warriors nod as they were quick to start getting things ready. Soul look at Zack and Bryan who are eger to get back to the Nightmare Moon Pack territory to see their mates but they still have to make sure they get back alive. The war won't be over after the mother is safe but they need to reinforce their plans and get help from other packs. The moon starts to rise and the sound of wolves howling is heard. Soul, Zack, and Bryan turn into their wolf forms and take the lead as their warriors follow behind quickly taking down rouges making their way to the doors of the mansion. 

There were a lot of rouges hitting them but the warriors were stronger and more advance in battle skills so they were able to take down rouges easily. Soul tare up throats as two big warriors stood at the doors. Busting through Tracy and Mike are fast on their paws as they take like the wind to the mother's room.

Mike bust through the doors to find the mother in a corner shaking. Tracy walks up to her, "Ma'am we are here to rescue you. Your daughters Venus, Mercury, and Iris ordered us to come get you and take you back where it's safe. Please follow us and hurry." Tracy was calm when talking to the mother she would nod and stand up she was heavily pregnant which worried Tracy and Mike, a howl is heard and Tracy grab the mother putting her on her back and head to the secret passage way. Luckily it was quick and they were to the woods but they didn't stop until a safe distance until Tracy and Mike give off the secret howl.

Soul is fighting rouges as they jump on his back taring into him but he wasn't giving up. He heard the secret howl and barked as his warriors, Zack, and Bryan that the mission is complete and it's time to retreat. Once everyone was heading out something tackled Soul. It was Damien. He was foaming at the mouth biting Soul's leg digging his canines into it about to crack his bones until Bryan comes and claws Damien in the face making him yelp in pain and let go. Zack and Bryan help Soul as they quickly leave the mansion their warriors ahead of them. Soul was bleeding heavily his vision going blurry as his friends carry him. The moon was high in the sky and that was the last thing Soul saw before blacking out.

-Tracy And Mike--Third Person Point Of View-

Mike took the mother on his back to make sure she is safe as they run through the woods. The weather was starting to get harsh as winter was on its way and light snow was starting to come down. They came up to a river which lead to the pack territory. Tracy nudged Mike to have the mother get a quick drink while she looks around to make sure they are not being followed. Hearing a twig snap Tracy pounces and saw that it was just a squirrel. The mother got something to drink and got back onto Mike. "It will take a few hours to get to the pack territory. Please bare with us while we hurry you to safety." Said Mike to the mother. She understood what they are doing and holds her stomach.

Running through the woods for a few hours the mother howls in pain causing Mike and Tracy to stop setting the mother down on the ground softly, Mike's back was wet. They look at the mother in horror. She was going into labor and they still have a few more hours till they make it into pack territory. 

"Tracy what are we going to do she is in labor." Mike tries to keep calm as the mother howls again. He turns into his human form and lightly puts his hand on her mouth. "Ma'am please you need to be quiet or someone will hear." Tracy looks at her mate and smacks him upside the head. "It is hard to keep quiet while in labor. Go get some water and bring it to me I will help her." Tracy barked at her mate as he turned back into his wolf form and went to get some water finding something to carry it in. Tracy turns back into her human form and rips up her shirt for the mother to bite on. "I know this will be hard to keep your voice down but this should help. I have had a pup myself and I believe you know how the process works." Tracy smiles softly trying to keep the mother calm. Tracy starts to help her do breathing excerises as she waits for her mate to bring the water. Tracy finds some soft leaves to help make things more comfortable for the mother. 

Mike returns with the water. He saw how far the mother was already in and couldn't watch her give birth. He didn't even watch his mate give birth to their pup. The sun would start to rise and Mike stood guard as Tracy helped the mother finish up giving birth. Mike wondered if the rest of his pack made it back safely and hoping that his Alpha did to. Once he heard crying he looks over at the pup. It was a male. The mother smiles and holds her new pup. "Ma'am I am sorry to rush this but we must hurry to get to the pack territory." Tracy stood up and helped the mother with the new pup onto Mike's back. She turned into her wolf form and they took off. It was going to be a long travel with the pup now they need to be careful. No one has been following them so far and they want to keep it that way.

-A Few Hours Go By--Tracy And Mike--Third Person Point Of View-

They had to stop several times to take a rest and for the mother to take care of the pup. Tracy and Mike were starting to feel uneasy as the sun was getting close to set. They only had another hour until they will be in the pack territory and things were going smoothly which didn't sit well with the wolves. After resting they get back to hurrying to the pack territory.

Finally they see a clearing as they are coming up to the side of the mansion. The gates were closed as they went up to the front. They saw how busy the front yard was as warriors and nurses are moving around. It seems that they had made it back. Once the they got past the gates they were quickly closed. Turning back to normal the mother looks around seeing what has been happening. Her heart hurts that her pyschotic mate would do this. Mike and Tracy take the mother and pup to the infirmary to let them get taken care of. They came across Tyler and James, Tracy went to go see James. "How are you holding up?" James was surprised to see a friend enter. "Tracy what are you doing back?" She smirks as her mate walked in behind her. "Everyone is back we rescued the mother." James slowly sat up, his condition was a lot better since Iris has been giving him blood. "Is the war over?" His voice was egered to know hoping this nightmare is over. Tracy shakes her head. "Soul ordered a retreat after the mother was rescued, we are low on supplies and we need more warriors. The three Alphas are going to contact help see if neighboring packs will join our fight." James would nod, "where is Soul?" Tracy and Mike look at him confused, "shouldn't he be here?" James shook his head. "I haven't heard anything of him being here." Horror struck all of their faces. Tracy and mike were quick to look around to find where their Alpha was.

Then howling was heard and everyone rushing around. Tracy and Mike go outside to see the gates open and a few warriors help dragging in the three Alphas who look like they are covered in blood. Panic starts to happen as everyone is rushing to get the Alphas into a room and the nurses and doctors to start working on them. They were not responding as they were rushed into three separate rooms and the doctors ordering everyone to stay out and not to be distracted. Tracy and Mike look at one another worried and then they heard a voice. "Tracy, Mike what are you both doing back? What is going on here?" They turned around to see their heavily pregnant Luna walking over to them as the warriors were careful not to bump into her with Venus and Mercury behind her. How are they going to explain the situation to their Luna, that her mate is in critical condition, how her mother had given birth out in the woods and that she is so heavily pregnant.They didn't know how to approach her that they stood frozen in front of her silent.
