CHAPTER 4: First Tondo Killing

The first week of the twin in their new neighborhood wasn't so easy. No one dared to talk them because of their looks. Their clothes are so outdated. Their hair are waist-length. But as the day passes by, people got the courage to approach them. People realized that the twins are not really strange. They are normal teenagers but shy.

Selene and Serene is already liking the new environment they have. Although they are still mourning for their loss, due to their new surroundings, the feeling was lighted up. They are now able to smile and laugh. But their characteristics they are used to cannot be change, sleeping so early was one of it.

The two of them learned how to use the their money right. They both know that it's not like what it used to be before. They have to work now and do some efforts to be able to feed themselves. But their world almost crashed when they heard the news.

'BREAKING NEWS: A man in his 40s found dead around Tondo, Manila. The cause of His is getting brutally killed. The police investigation is still on it's process. The family of the deceased and his co-neighborhood. Are hoping for the fast update about the investigations.'

Selene automatically hid her emotions and change her expression into a poler face. Just like ehat she usually do, She cannot show her sister that she is afraid too. on the otherhand, there is Serene that is already shaking. she went to her sister's front and vent out hee thoughts.

"Selene, what if they will find us? What if they know that we are dada's children? will they go after us? Will they hurt us too?" Serene asked while shaking her sister's shoulders.

"Shhh, listen up, Serene. Nothing will gonna happen, alright? I will never let anyone lay a finger on you. You are the only family that I have, and losing you is like losing my life too. You have me, you don't have to be scared of anything." Selene said while caressing Serene's cheeks

"Let's not seperate ways, alright? Wherever you will go, take me with you. I cannot lose you too, Selene. You're all that I have too. I will protect you too in the best that I can." Serene replied to her sister.

With that small sign of assurance, they both smile

The sudden killing brought so much fear on the neighborhood. They began thinking of many things that could be the answer of the killing. No one is sure about what happened but they are all sure that it is a brutal killing.

"Selene, are you that no one can find us here?" Serene asked.

That question caught Selene off guard. She doesn't know how to answer it. She doesn't want to bring any fear to Serene. She faked a smile and comfort her sister.

"Serene, I told you that you have me. No matter what happened, I will look after you. They might found us but they will never be able to lay even their fingertips on you.

Serene threw herself to Selene for a hug.

"I am so lucky to have a sister like you. We might be lonely together but with you, I feel like I'm home." Serene said and kiss Selene on her cheeks.

That night, Selene was restless. Because she was afraid more than Serene do. Selene was more afraid not for her self but for her dearest sister. If only Selene can give the world to her twin, she will probably do it.

Selene went to the balcony of their room. She was silently talking to their late parents.

'Dada, Mama, help to get through this. I am so afraid for me and Serene. Please, cover us and take us away of the danger. I need your hugs right now. I want to cry too but I cannot be weak. That is the only thing I can do not to scare her. I love Serene so much. Even we're just few minutes apart, it felt like I really have the younger sister. I will do my best to protect her.' Selene said on her mind. She wiped the tears that fell on her cheeks.

She walked back inside their room and sleep.

Selene woke up by hearing Serene calling her name. She thought she's awake but she found out thaf Serene is having a dream. It might be a nightmare. Serene was crying while calling Selene. So Selene went next to her and wake her up.

"Serene, Serene wake up." Selene said a couple of times while shaking Serene.

Serene woke up and pull Selene into a tight hug.

"Selene, I-I thought I l-lost you already. T-that dream felt so true. I almost not able to wake up." Serene said while sobbing.

"Tell me what happened so you can be at ease." Selene said.

"Selene, the bad guys found us and they are taking you. They said that you belong to them. I don't understand my dream. Why it has to be like that?" Serene said to her twin.

"Serene, That is just a nightmare. That will never gonna happen. They cannot take me away from you as well as you. They cannot take you away from me."

"Selene, I am so afraid. I am so afraid to lose you."

"And so I am. I cannot afford to lose you also, Serene."

Later that morning, they opened the small television and watch the news.

'News Update: Yesterday, a witness of yesterday's brutal killing showed up. She said that she saw what the suspect. For her safety, We are not going to show her face and will use an Alian. Here is her statement.

"Yesterday, I was on my way home around 7 pm in the evening, I heard loud noises. i heard a man's scream so I hurried and looked for his whereabouts. I didn't see the exact sequence of the events but maybe because I was too late so I wasn't able to save him. All that I saw was 3 men in black drag the small container with them. It was covered with blood. Maybe that is where the put his organs. That is all I Know. -witness'

"I hope they will caught those bad guys already." Serene said.

"I hope so too. I want to know it also what really happens to this victim. And I want them to be punished for what they also do to our Dada. He deserve a justice." Selene said while clenching her fist.

"Sooner or later, we will find out the Truth." Serene said and hugged her twin.

Everyone is busy looking for the evidences that will lead them to the suspects. The officers are planning to make some bait for the suspects. They want to know if these people are really selling the victim's organs. And in what hospital. the truth must be unfold. Not just to punish the suspects but also those hospital that bought organs in illegal way.

The news spread around Tondo like a wildfire. Everyone is eager to know the truth but not everyone is really has somethung to do with it. Most of them was just after ths issue and all. But to the officers and to the twins, it is a dark secret that has to be unfold because their lives are connected to it.

There is no specific time when will it be solve but Selene is really hoping that one day, everything will be resolve.
