It's been few days since the last killing happened. There were still no witness or evidences to use to solve those cases. Fear is undeniable, it is visible on almost everyone in the neighborhood. Who wouldn't be? They don't even know who is their enemy. Is it really a human or a mythical creature?
Due to fear and hunger for justice and peace, people wants to solve this case as soon as possible but because they are lacking of credible evidences and witnesses, the case become a stagnant. It wasn't moving forward. But it becoming more and more difficult to analyze and solve. Making the cases piled up.
Because people cannot find a rational reasoning for these incidents, they are starting to believe that it is all done by supernatural beings. And who they believe doing is those "aswang". They are the most dangerous and feared for.
But it is not that ancient time anymore. People are not even seeing the said creature for decades.
No one is sure, neither the police officers nor citizens can prove that it's all about human or those creature.
SPO3 Dela Cruz, is roaming around the neighborhood and investigating. He is looking for witness or an evidence. He is eager to find out the truth. Especially now that there are a lot of killings.
One Sunday morning, SPO3 Dela Cruz decided to roam around the streets where there are a lot of bystander outside.
SPO3 Dela Cruz's POV
As I walk farther the neighborhood, I am hearing more and more and one those is hearing people talking about the aswang. He didn't know much about it. All he know is, that is a dangerous monster-looking creature and has a wings similar to a bat.
I went to my office on my house and have a little research about the said creature. And as I read it more, I realize that they are really scary.
(FROM AN ARTICLE)
What is an Aswang?
The Aswang (æ·swang) is a flesh-eating, shape-shifting monster. During the day, Aswangs appear as regular townspeople, though they may be observed by others to have reclusive habits or magical abilities. At night, Aswangs shift into eerie predatory forms and go hunting for human prey, preferring to feast on children and pregnant women above all else.
Special Abilities
The Aswang’s most fearsome ability is its knack for blending in with its victims. During the day, Aswangs look and act just like regular people. Although they are generally shy and somewhat reclusive, they can have jobs, friends, and even families.
During the night, Aswangs shift into a form that is better suited to hunting. Different regional versions of the creature are said to take different forms. The tik-tik and wak-wak become large birds, while the zegben (sometimes described simply as a companion of the monster) takes on the form of a Tasmanian devil. Aswangs have also been reported shifting into pigs and dogs.
Another tactic Aswangs use to disguise themselves is to use sinister vocal tricks. As the fearsome predator gets closer to its victim, its call gets quieter and quieter, so its victim is tricked into thinking the monster is actually getting further away.
The Aswang’s hunting prowess is almost as frightening as its ability to hide itself in plain sight. Aswangs like to dine on corpses, fetuses, and small children. They often appear at funeral wakes or at the bedside of pregnant women to eat. The Aswang uses its proboscis like tongue to suck blood from its victims or suck a fetus from a pregnant woman’s womb. They also have superhuman strength during the nighttime..
A dying Aswang can also pass its powers along to someone else if it wishes. The Aswang holds its mouth close to a chosen person, and the chick inside the monster’s stomach hops into the mouth of the new person.
After finishing the article, I realized that there are various type of aswang. And I realized how can it be true that they are the ones that are responsible of those crimes. Still, the idea was not concrete, it can be just a false alarm. The suspect can use the characteristics of these aswang to hide their true name, the syndicate maybe.
It's hard to believe and impossible to solve a crime if I will just depend on folklore, I need solid proofs that will caught the suspect red-handed. And I did not planned to let them escape me. They have to be punish severely.
I have to find out who they really are and what are they. They might be good for nothing but just a criminal.
Third person's POV
The twin are still traumatized by what happen in the alley, they never went on that alley again. They chose to have a longer walk than to make their lives shorter.
So far, their lives is quiet. There are no bad things yet. They feel no harm around them and they didn't feel like being followed or chased anymore.
"Selene, Do you think that person intends to scare us so that we will behave ourselves? Or it is just really us who over thinks?" Serene asked to her twin as they finished their breakfast on that Sunday morning.
"Maybe we are just afraid of the fact that we witnessed a crime and scared to be hurt or worst, killed because most of the witnesses, that is their fate." Selene said as she look at her twin.
"I hope it will never happen again. I am so tired of running out of fear. I hope we'll have a decent living here, our birthday is coming in 4 months. We don't do parties but I want a peaceful birthday, Selene." Serene said while sounding so upset.
"We will work that out. We deserve a peaceful birthday, I know we can do it together." Selene said confidently.
The twins determination and bravery is really solid. If they really want something, they will not let any of this go in vain. They will take all the courage they can probably get and began something that they wanted.
Someone's POV
"Do you find them?"
"Yes boss, they are living in this place. What are we gonna do with them? They saw me killing."
"Nothing. You will do nothing to them except from scaring them. It is your fault after all. Do not lay any single finger on them. I will cut off your head off of your body."
"Yes boss."
"Dismissed. Don't come back."
It is so unusual for him to stop me from killing someone who witnessed my killings. But I gotta follow what he said. He doesn't make warnings for nothing.
He will really cut off my head if I will disobey him. That's why even though my hands are itching to kill that twin, I just couldn't
Third person's POV
Things are getting better and peaceful, was the killing stopped or the person is still waiting for the time he could attack again.
The twin are having a good time and worry-free week. They don't assume but they are hoping for real peace on their lives because that is what they can have for now. And there is nothing important as much as peace can give.
