Chapter Six
His canine bit at my earlobe waking me up. We had managed to catch up on the past year and a half and just enjoy each other’s company like we use to; before things got complicated. I managed to fall asleep, and from the feeling of it the boys managed to take me to our old bed.
“Stop,” I groaned swatting the face as I rolled over to the other body next to me. My leg following me as my hand rested on the eight pack.
“We have to get ready,” Asher’s voice assaulted my ears as his tongue ran along my earlobe.
“For what,” I groan pushing my head into what obviously was Tristian’s chest.
“a meeting to discuss Cerena and Sylvia,” Asher reminded me.
“I can’t believe you dated someone who couldn’t ever spell Serena right,” I huffed pulling from the warm chest.
“Can’t blame me, obviously I was under some sort of spell,” Tristian smiled down at me, his coal eyes were calm as Asher’s hand ran through my hair. “How did I managed to get to the bed.”
“We brought you up, there was no way we would allow you to sleep on the couch,” Tristian smiled as he rubbed his head against my neck. “We were on the best of behavior, I promise.”
With a nod, I stretched preparing to get out of bed, realizing that they had managed to get me out of my clothes and into one of their t-shirts. At this point the men were already at their respective closet getting their clothes out for the day, their eyes still on me even with the distance. I shot them a looked as I finally got up to walk to my closet; they shrugged unembarrassed.
“You look as amazing as we remembered,” Tristian smirked as Asher smacked my ass.
“Get ready,” Asher smirked.
We walked into the meeting room hidden behind the king’s throne to see everyone studying records.
“what can we do,” I asked. Pulling everyone from their work.
“Nice of you to drop in,” Trinity smirked.
“We were expecting you much later,” Serenity laughed.
“It would have been if we had gotten any action,” Tristian sighed.
It was hours before I could no longer look at these files. They weren’t in the files of live or stillborn birth. We had to be looking at this the wrong way, leaning against the chair I looked up at the plain ceiling, thinking everything through. They obviously were after the throne, which was not unusual. Before Tristian and Asher began showing long term interest in me, the Kings would constantly drill into them that they had to be careful in selecting a mate. Not everyone would be faithful, not everyone was with you because they loved you.
“We are looking at this the wrong way,” I finally spoke sitting up correctly. “Whoever is behind this feels like the throne should be theirs.”
They all looked at me as if that was obvious, “Hear me out, this is more than greed. She had to be close to having the throne at her fingertips at one point. She had to have years to plan this out. To Drill in Cerena and Sylvia that the throne belonged to them. Is there anyone like that,” I looked over to my father and the kings.
The kings were lost but father was truly racking his brain as if it was at the tip of his finger.
“Did anyone notice how other than their skin tone they look related to Terra,” General Logan spoke. He was our senior commanding officer, as well as one of the men who personally train the princes, my brother, the girls and me. I never wanted to throw something at him more in my life, how could he just throw an insult like that.
“Your mother’s sister,” father shouted. It seemed to dawn on both the kings and Logan that was definitely possible.
“There was also a rumor, she was pregnant around the same time Aria was pregnant with Terra,” Logan spoke. “It was a standing joke that someone in the military was the father, she still got around even after she was rejected by the kings.”
“Rejected,” Donovan asked for us since we were out in the dark.
“Aria and her older sister Audrey were sent here by their small tribe, hoping Audrey would catch the king’s eyes. Your mother was basically sent to meet every whims Audrey had. They were a small group of non-shifters who were more magically inclined. Your mother basically did not have skills in any of their magical ways, though she was immune to just about every magic and poison. The glow in his eyes seemed to brighten the longer he got to talk about his wife, and our mother.
“Aria was amazing, and your father literally proposed to her the moment she stepped into the kingdom,” Logan laughed as the king bit back a snicker.
“He didn’t even realize he did it either,” King Adrian laughed.
“Yes well,” my father adjusted his shoulder, diverting the conversation away from his adorable embarrassment. “Her sister slept with anyone willing to give her the time. She still thought she was going to be queen even though she couldn’t keep her legs shut. It wasn’t until the queens showed up that Adrian and Orion released her. After their tribe learned why, Audrey was not welcomed back home, she was basically exiled.”
“Audrey and Aria were sisters, so it is possible that Cerena and Sylvia are your cousins,” Trinity spoke to me as I wrinkled my nose.
“Aria and Audrey were twin sister,” my father spoke up again. “It is more than possible.”
“But what do we do with this information,” Damien asked.
“We know one thing, when she doesn’t get her way, she will try again.” King Orion spoke, “Audrey attempted to claim that she was pregnant with my child. They will not give up.”
“Tristian, Asher you can’t let them know we know about who they are,” I looked at the two boys.
“Great,” I placed my hands over Tristian’s and Asher’s.
“I will be with you guys as much as I can, I promise.”
I sat against Tristian’s desked as I looked over the reports on the new recruits. Tristian and Asher were going over some of their own reports. The princes had practically moved my office into theirs which made this large room really small since Trinity and Serenity were in here as well.
“Did you find any recruits you like,” Trinity asked as she looked through her own list.
“I have seen a couple,” I answered as I looked over the paperwork. “There are a lot more females in this list this time around.”
The conversation was cut short when Cerena and Sylvia walked in. “Tristian, Asher, may we talk please.”
Tristian sighed as he looked over his paperwork. “We have a lot going on at the moment. Can this not wait.”
“I am expecting,” Cerena whimpered. “I know you do not love us, but you cannot abandon our child.”
I looked over at Tristian, who looked shocked as hell, we were expecting something. But the exact same move as their mother. I sighed as I placed my papers on Tristian’s desk.
“And I am assuming that you are pregnant with Asher’s child,” I looked over at Sylvia who was eyeing Asher.
“Yes,” She hissed at me for even daring to speak to her.
“We will get you a doctor’s appointment,” I finally spoke. “We will let you know when we have an appointment set.”
“that is not for you to decide,” Cerena hissed.
“If you are bearing my step children then it is,” I smiled.
They looked over to Tristian and Asher, but the boys did not move to add anything to the conversation. I leaned against the desk, letting them know that the conversation had concluded, and they were free to go. They huffed as they walked away. I looked over the two males, there was a possibility that this was more than a ploy.
