Chapter Forty-Five

BARRY'S POV :

I got to the restaurant and there was Jenny. She was sitting by one of the windows in a pretty flower patterned gown.

I stood outside admiring her for a few minutes before going in to meet her.

Her face lit up immediately she saw me.

"Barry!" she shouted as she hugged me.

She had a very sweet smell and at that moment I felt safe. Safer than I had felt in the past few days. I didn't want that moment to ever pass.

"Let's sit down. We can finally talk" She smiled and I pulled out a chair for her to sit in before pulling one out for myself.

“So how are you? Every time we talk on the phone it's always like you're rushing”

I let out a nervous chuckle, “No No, of course not. It's just a lot of things going on. And I'm busy around the house, that's all”

She looked at me out of the corner of her eye for a bit before conceding.

“Well if you say so. I'm just happy you're here now, I was starting to think you were not interested in me”

I looked straight at her and held her hands tight, “Hey look at me. I'm very much interested in you. I'm very interested and I will show you from now on. So don't think that way okay?”

I can't believe she would think I wasn't interested in her. She was on my mind every time.

We had some burgers and talked. I told her a few jokes and we both laughed at them.

lt was time to go so both walked to the Car, hand in hand.

“Thanks for laughing at my bad jokes, I had a great time” I laughed as I opened the door for her.

“Well I enjoyed your bad jokes and I hope you keep telling me more. I had an amazing time”

“I hope we do this again soon,” I said as I turned on the car engine.

I stole a glance before pulling out of the driveway of the restaurant and onto the road.

“Call me when you get home. Drive safe” She waved as I pulled out of her driveway and headed home.

I kept stealing glances at her the whole drive.

She made me forget everything else that was going on.
